What: Welcoming the "too brave and annoying" Rin back to this world.

[It has been a few days since Rin arrived to the city. Lancer has made a little promise to keep so he's already preparing for her arrival.

His way of welcoming are... a bit odd. Lancer flies through Rin's apartment and without reserve he goes inside and maybe catch Rin by surprise.]

Yo Little Lady Jr! I'm borrowing your for a while!

[With that, he lifts Rin up, who he knows very well might not remember him, and puts a blindfold on her eyes. He then gets out from her apartment and flies around the city. Much like an abduction.]

I'm going to take you for a walk a little!

[He soon arrives at the designated place where he gathers people who are close to Rin with the help of Archer, puts Rin down and takes her to the waterfall.]

Are you ready? I'm taking it off!

[With that, Lancer puts away the blindfold and a big confetti follows him up with a big "Welcome Back!" banner being spread through by Lancer and Archer. Kinda unexpected for them to work together. There's a little food to enjoy nearby because Lancer has been fishing for a while. Anybody close to Rin can enjoy the mingle here to refresh some of her memories!]

[Rei isn't entirely sure what's happened, or what the purpose of the party is, but Archer had requested that she come...and she liked the grey-haired spirit (or whatever he was) enough that she'd agreed.

So, there she is, looking at guests and offering a dip of her head and a smile to anyone who looks her way.]

[ Good, it's a girl. She gravitates towards her quietly when the others are preoccupied with something else just in order to feel she's with someone who won't worship the ground now that she's back. ]

What a mess all of this is.

So which one of them dragged you along? [ And quickly after: ] Are you their date?

[Rei arches a dark eyebrow at the phrasing of all of that. That's...not exactly what happened at all.]

Archer asked me to come. I don't know the other man. And gods no, I'm not anyone's date. [Adding with less heat:] I thought you were his girlfriend, anyway?

Yes, but why should he wait around for me when I might have not returned?

[ Wouldn't that have made for an awkward conversation back? Not that she thinks they're very compatible... hell, she's not even sure why Archer tolerates her half the time. ]

The other one is Lancer--I think? I don't really recall much about him other than fawning over him when he arrived.

Because he likes you, Rin-san? He's very loyal seeming.

[Rei doesn't really understand the dynamics between this whole Master/Servant thing, and could hardly be bothered to try and figure it out. It felt like they were Rin's Familiars or something, so until told directly otherwise, she hadn't intended to pry.]

Besides, I wouldn't date him even if he did want to. I have someone. [A wave, and her eyes track to Lancer.] So that's Lancer. Archer. And there was Saber. Do you collect weapons?

I do! [ Lifting up her skirt just enough to show off a military grade combat knife and... a gun? That's definitely a gun against the other thigh. ]

These are just the ones I carry with me, but if you're interested you should come by to see my gun collection sometime!

[ That probably wasn't what she was going for, but she's a little excited to talk about something other than her amnesia or the return to the colony. ]

That's...quite an arsenal.

[Rei's not much of a weapons nut, but she does sense the general enthusiasm in Rin, and decides to play along. She peers down at the knife, blanching just a bit at the sight of the gun, but still obviously interested.]

I've never seen many guns, at least not up close. You collect them?

[ Rin's more embarrassed that she's looking down at her legs like that even if she did pull up her skirt to show it off. What a troublesome girl she turned out to be. ]

Yes. Firepower will be essential whenever this colony falls apart.

[ She speaks her paranoia as if it's something that's on everyone's mind. ] If the plants in the gardens are sentient, then who knows what's beyond the perimeter of CERES' safety net.

[Rin's the one showing off, Rei's not exactly sure how to take it.]

I suppose it will be, won't it? If half of what I've heard is rumored to be out there is true then there's no telling what we'll need.

[Monsters, mostly.]

The garden was bad enough. So I'm just going to hope that doesn't happen anytime soon. I'd like more time to prepare, you know.

Don't worry, I think we'll be given enough time for that.

[ Flipping her skirt down. ] Even still, it doesn't hurt to collect what you can for supplies in case of another power outage or something along those lines. Humans get desperate to take back what they feel is being denied to them when the fear and discomfort gets to be too much.

I think.

[ It hurts to try to think about that. ]

No, I'd agree with that. I've been gathering things myself.

[Rei smiles politely, nodding her agreement. It made sense, and got her thinking. A good observation.

But that last comment? Draws a raised eyebrow.]

What do you mean you think?

[ Scratching at the back of her neck nervously, she doesn't seem aware that she's giving away her emotions all too readily with her body language. It'll take her time to readjust to that as well. ]

Um.

I used to be a soldier of some kind, but I don't remember the details. A lot of the events in my life are hazy and not known to me right now.

It isn't a side effect of returning to Cerealia--[ She adds before it can be asked. ]--but a result of something that took place while I was away.

Well, that's unfortunate. [A pause.] But, at least you've got the chance to make new memories? And I'm sure with time you'll regain some of the old ones.

[She taps the side of her own head, smiling somewhat weakly.]

That happened to me when I was younger. But they came back, clearer.

Clearer? [ That doesn't make much sense to her, but she does seem to be speaking from experience so it would be improper to shut the idea now. ]

Maybe I'll be as lucky.

If not, you're right. I have my memories of this place and so far that's been working out well for me.

And you have some loyal friends, too.

[She nods towards Lancer and Archer, half smiling.]

They seem to care about you a lot. And while we don't know one another well if you need help, you just need to ask, okay?

Friends..? [ She wouldn't exactly call them friends, but maybe to others that's how it appears.

Mostly because Rin simply isn't used to the concept of friends. It doesn't occur to her that's the first step in establishing camaraderie among people. ]

I'd offer to change that, but this would be a poor time to do so seeing as I'm a blank slate. From what I've read online, this means I'll start to mimic the behavior of those around me more until I settle back down into comfort.

And no one likes a copy cat.

Well, that's not always true. But I don't think you'd be happy copying me, anyway.

[Too much stoic, not enough yelling.]

But I'm not opposed to spending time with you while you work on recovery. That is what friends do, ne?

Is that what they do? [ It isn't a malicious question, but one invoked from her one curiosity without restraint. ]

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to spend some time with another woman. If I hang out with all of these guys too much, people will start to talk.

Yes. It is.

[Rei sniffs a bit and shakes her head.]

And I suppose they might at that. You're dating one though, yes? That's normal.
