A. Furry simaka animal crossing
[Jack Frost, Spirit of Winter and Guardian of Fun, is now a white fox.
An anthro fox that wears clothes and walks on his back legs, yet still... A fox. He isn't the biggest fan of all this fur (thank goodness Bunny can't see him now) but he couldn't say no the kids. The only reason he chose this harmless game was to play with them, and here they are now, none of them with the villager option. Anthro animals all around, including their caretaker.
At least he can keep his powers here, and that means making this fishing competition more exciting. He walks on the river, freezing it up and sending the fish in all directions while the kids chase after them. Yes, chase - rods are for boring fools.
All the fun and laughter is interrupted when one of the shadows in the river suddenly becomes... bigger. And bigger, and bigger... and suddenly a very long neck is popping out of the water. The kids gasp but Jack just raises a furry eyebrow.]
Nessie mad at me for freezing her home? It's 1752 all over again. [He pauses as he remembers that and then--] RUN!
[The kids do as he says, trying to find some kind of food to distract her. But Jack doesn't go after them, he stands in a defensive position with his staff, totally ready for this. Jokes aside, this isn't the real Nessie so... this monster would totally get him first place in the competition, right?]
B. Japanese Squidward is actually funaka splatoon
[When he isn't playing with the kids, Jack chooses games where he can be, well. An asshole.
He doesn't change clothes or appearance this time, but he does pick a cap with tentacles on its sides. As much as he likes white, it isn't the right color for this game, so he goes for blue. The roller is cool at the beginning simply becomes it makes people so freaking mad. But it also gets boring quickly fast.
The shooters are the real fun.
He doesn't care about coloring the area first, and it looks like that's ok with his occasional teammates, because Jack is great at stopping his opponents. He is the "disruption" type of player, waiting for you to finish painting an area before he attacks by drawing a wonderful snowflake on your base, hiding in the ink and waiting for the perfect second to cover your face with ink until you regret your life choices, and taking advantage of his power to fly from one corner to the other and freeze the ink you are trying to swim in.
Insult him all you want, it's not like he cares.]
C. They see me rollin', they hatin'aka katamary damacy
Out of my way or part of my ball, your choice!
[That and similar kinds of silly phrases are what Jack yells whenever he finds another player in the game. And that player may be surprised to notice two things: one, Jack isn't pushing the ball, he is walking on it like a clown; and two, the big ball feels quite cold.
He may occasionally add frost to it to make it bigger. Totally not cheating, ssshhh.
When Jack isn't laughing, he's humming or even singing along - and look at that, he's quite good at it! He doesn't realize he's doing so, too distracted by his solo-fun he is. That's the nature of this tune, it catches you unaware until you're NAHNAHNAHNAH- dammit.]

b--
he honestly wasn't taking it so seriously at first, shooting... lime green ink? paint?? ???? here and there with enough hesitation to show some slight confusion, toothless ( of course ) walking beside him, constantly looking down at his claws due to the weirdness of walking on what was essentially goop.
then jack struck, and hiccup understands the pain of a face full of ink, frozen ink, everything ink, and the point of this entire thing. with that, the mask is-- quite literally on, and hiccup's utilizing toothless to his full extent. ... okay, maybe stealth is a little difficult to do when the entire place is blue and lime green, but they can at least slip here and there behind walls and pillars with surprising speed.
now, the players ( and jack, mainly, because this night fury only seems to come around when he actually shows himself ) are met with the high-pitched sound that follows toothless as he flies, and then: splat splat splat exploding color everywhere, courtesy of a big shot of ink merging with a well-aimed mini plasma blast in mid-air.
and in case anyone needed confirmation that this dynamically dumb duo had a purpose, from the masked rider, a loud: ]
Did we get him, bud?
[ is heard in the silence following the freshly painted lime green everything as they search for any signs of their frosty target.
sorry to any additional casualties...... ]
no subject
Ah, but no time for daydreaming right now, this is Blue versus Green and green must go down.
The frosty target is definitely hit by the green ink blast, and his answer to that is... laughing. Because none of the regular players have been this fun so far.]
Taking advantage of your extra abilities, huh? Two can play this game!
[Those are his last shouted words before he dives into the blue ink, cleaning away the icky green, refilling his weapon and... getting some ink on his staff, two. Two can play this game indeed.
The wind suddenly blows, splashing both colors everywhere, which serves as a pseudo cover when suddenly Jack jumps out of his hiding spot and just... keeps going up, appearing right behind the dragon and his masked rider with his weapon aimed at them.
It's not just his weapon, however. It's his weapon AND his staff - together they send a beam of ink covered snowflakes. Is Toothless fast enough to dodge that?]
no subject
dragon and rider whip around almost immediately when mr. windspeaker finally makes himself known again, the first muffled words out of hiccup's mouth-- ]
TOOTHLESS, DIVE!
[ which he does, just enough to avoid being blasted with jack's colorful array of snowflakes, wings outstretching when they reach a suitable level.
and hiccup is just left to look up, pulling his mask up to utter his words of challenge, words of strength, words of conquering before they move on to whatever attack they're going to throw at each other next. ]
Uh, hey. Nice hat. [ ... ] Were you down there?
[ wow. edgy.
mainly because... he's out of ink for now. hiccup's note to self: restock before he gets blasted. ]
no subject
Jack dives in right after them, weapons ready to strike, attack charging, shooting in three, two...
...everything stops when Hiccup speaks, and Jack can only facepalm.]
WAY to ruin the moment, you big dork!
[But ok, he's smiling a bit too. And that may be a chuckle or two. Hiccup is funny, alright, don't judge him. After shaking his head a couple of times, he lands next to them, bare feet not caring about the ink all over their skin. It's not snow but those toes are totally used to goo getting between them.]
No, I wasn't down there. It was my lost cousin, Pyro Jack. [Sarcasm? No way. Also, Jack hasn't put his weapon down yet. He's friendly but not stupid.] What are you doing, Hiccup, you're making yourself an easy target.
[Totally not worried, nope. This game can feel a bit too real sometimes.]
no subject
yeah, toothless is too busy sniffing it to swim in it (and also spreading the small amounts of green behind them, around, them with his tail, as they've landed in a pool of blue, but that's neither here nor there. are they going to dive into that? oh, heavens no, of course... not??? ) ]
Apparently not easy enough, given the fact that you aren't shooting at me.
[ that's not how it works, doofus. that isn't how it works at all. but given the way hiccup shrugs, he seems to think that he can handle any immediate threat that isn't jack.
he is. totally taking this seriously again. ]
Speaking of shooting, that last attack... Is there a name for that? [ a hand, flat, moves forward, imitating the move. ] Big, Icy... Snowflake Beam? It almost got us!
[ no, hiccup's just on distraction duty. ]
no subject
[Gotta fix that right now! Don't mind him as he raises his weapon and shots a couple of quick bullets to bother their faces - with the helmet off is much easier now. And oh so satisfying! Add to that a bit of frost here and there to keep his blue in place... perfect.
Dragon and rider get a quick lookover before Jack shakes his head again.]
I'm getting you next time. Wanna know the name of that? [As if it had one anyway.] Catch me first and I'll tell you.
[He's about to leave, but he stops to look over his shoulder with squinting eyes. ...ugh, this whole "making friends" deal changes the game. Why can't he just freeze them and leave? He doesn't have this trouble with Bunny... probably because they started with punches. Hiccup has always been, well, nice.]
...I can take you being nice in freaking jail, but nothing of that here, got it? [Here comes the 300yo's speech, with finger waving and everything.] Everyone is waiting to jump on you so better start playing the game like a-- a-- a proper crazy ax-wielding viking would do. I'm not gonna save your butt.
[That's a lie, he totally is. But that's enough talking for now, he can't allow Hiccup to see him going soft over friendship, time to dive back into the ink and recharge, waiting for certain pair to make their move.]
no subject
that was unfair. ]
Jack, that was. Did you just--
[ he shouldn't have mentioned the shooting. now he's got a blue face, and-- he should've kept the mask on, he knew it.
but beyond that, the rest of what jack does is just. hm. at least hiccup doesn't have to pull some sneaky escape manoeuvre here... not that he has it in him to be stealthy, with what mister frosty says. does. and before he can even say something in return, jack's already diving into the ink. hiccup's left to blink, look down at toothless, whom looks up with curious green eyes rimmed in blue. ]
Did I say something weird? How do I even respond to-- [ in return: a tilt of the head, the night fury's rendition of a shrug. HE'S SO LOST.
... a pause. ]
Astrid was right, bud. Red is your color.
[ ha. ha ha. with that out of the way... a soft touch to toothless' head begins their move to take jack's lead, as they dive into the green ink around them.
they return to the surface a short distance away, wings splashing a great deal of green on blue as they emerge (punctuated with a muttered "that is still weird" from the rider). next thing on the agenda: catch jack. second: ask him what the heck was with that. third: ... well, actually, maybe he should just see if he can try and find jack, instead of getting ahead of himself.
hiccup supposes the best way to catch jack would be.... in his words, actually playing the game.
so, he takes it upon himself to use toothless's tail as a kind of makeshift roller, painting over blue with green quite quickly, making sure to avoid any shots fired at both of them and knocking any other blue players they come across into the ink with a quick flick of the tail. jack can't hide in the goop if there's none of his team's goop to hide in. the plan: make absolutely everything green. jack'd have to show up eventually, and he would be much less slippery with less blue to use.
crazy ax-wielding..... crazy ax-wielding how do you even do that-- ]

Specifically her contribution is to target the disruptive players, or at least it is in this match, when she notices Jack causing all kinds of trouble for her struggling teammates.
Finding a high vantage point that overlooks most of the map, Pascal is lying in wait for an opportunity. The moment she's been waiting for arrives when she spots Jack drawing a snowflake. She aims right at him and he'll know it when the sniper line is suddenly on his chest. Steady....
BANG! goes the ink bullet... but did she get him??]
no subject
He respawns a second later, of course, grumbling under his breath - stupid snipers! Ah, but they aren't the only ones that can reach high places. Jack flies until he can see the whole map too and when he finally finds the sniper, starts shooting continuous ink bullets at her.
Watch out, girl, this spirit is hungry for revenge.]
no subject
Abort, abort!]
Ack! Hey, hey! Flying is cheating! [She darts away from her perfect perch to try and escape into her color ink below. She does but the waves on the ink surface indicate her movements so she isn't hard to spot. Noooo she hasn't been splatted yet and she wants to keep it that way!]
no subject
Really? Because I didn't see it in the rules!
[That's because he didn't check the rules at all, but details. If the programmers let him keep his powers, then he's gonna use his powers and everyone will have to deal with it.
So Jack flies on, trying to follow her trail in the ink, shooting paint bullet after paint bullet. Does he hit her? He isn't sure, but he has no time to check: he's running out of ink. Time to take a quick dive and recharge before the girl gets to hide again.]
no subject
She almost gets away but alas, she's been hit one too many times and his last shot splats her easily.
She's grumbly when she response, hoisting her charger on her shoulder.] That's it! This is personal now. [So much for continuing to cover her team. Now she's just after this one guy... but hey, that'll probably help them too. It'll keep him off their backs.
Pascal finds a different vintage point and starts to search for him again. Come on... she's gonna splat you so hard for that, bro.]
no subject
He loses some concentration after that, so she splats him indeed. He doesn't react, though, because his distraction isn't just because he got cocky, no. He's staring at the other end of the field, where some bubbles are forming on the ink.
Jack squints his eyes, not liking the sight of that.] What the-- what is that? I thought this was two teams only!
[It can't be a boss, this game doesn't have multiplayer bosses! ...does it?]

A
He had the choice at the start of playing to pick an animal. Naturally, one would think Kogitsunemaru would choose a fox... but no, there are so many options! So he picked a cat. A nice white cat. Maybe something like this? Hey, Kogi won't be typecast...
So, today was the day of the fishing competition and he really wanted to bring home a win. So, leaving his house with fishing rod and sword (because it's not like he could leave himself at home) in hand it's only a matter of time that he notices the white fox walking across the river with a bunch of kids chasing the fishes. ]
What kind of... [ And then, a monster?! THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN AND NO FIGHTING. WHY?! But he'll watch the children run away, leaving the
cheating, staff-wielding fox to deal with the threat. Bah, he won't leave the strange fox alone, so he'll approach with sword drawn, waving it at the long necked thing. ]Need help? [ He'd also like to win the contest. Fish furniture, yo. ]
no subject
He glances at the kids to make sure they're at a safe distance before turning to the cat with a smirk. Or at least, the closest thing to a smirk he can pull with a fox face. The animal choice truly suits him.]
As long as you don't--
[Whatever he has to say is interrupted by the monster's roar (definitely not Nessie!) and soon after its long necks it's diving it to try to catch both fox and cat for dinner. Jack flies up and tries to freeze the water around it, but its strength is enough to break the ice. Still wanna join them, Kogi?]
no subject
Don't... what?! And what the hell is this thing?! [ As it dives toward him, Kogitsunemaru will go forward instead of up into the air, weapon at his side. He notices how the quickly the ice breaks from the underwater beast's thrashing... so, maybe if he can provide a distraction for the magic wielding fox (or kitsune, if Jack had more than one tail) or weaken it somehow, maybe it will be worth it?
Especially if it keeps the usually peaceful town from being destroyed. ]
no subject
I have no idea, but that's totally not Nessie!
[Yeah, they probably got that part already, Jack. But that distraction is welcome! since the monsters is going for the cat, Jack uses the opportunity to fly behind it and shoot ice beams at its necks, trying to make it stay still.
He gets two of them, but the last one escapes his reach...]
no subject
But he's a tiny little cat, not a "little" fox, and his weapon has been diminished in size to match his form. No problem. He bounces from chunk of broken ice to another, to another... slicing the monster's third neck with grace and style. Yeah, it may have the effect of many stinging paper cuts, but... he's trying! Does this thing bleed?--- the game's rating may need to be changed! ]
no subject
[This has to be the dumbest conversation to have while fighing a violent water monster, but then again, they are looking like cute animals now so they've probably hit the to hell with everything point.
The cat knows his moves, Jack will give it that. It seems he must also give him the catch, because something else catches his attention now: the kids. They're returning with the food and watching the stinging paper cuts - they're still cuts and they aren't pretty to see.
Aaaand of course now the monster wants to attack them.
Now Jack is truly furious, and his anger is obvious as he leaves the back of the creature to stand between it and the children. The wind is picking up and the temperature is falling... hopefully this thing counts as lizard and hates the cold.]
Forget about cutting, just try to stab it or something!

As she continued rolling the huge ball trying to collect all the stuff she could find, she felt a sudden cold coming her way. Hey, wasn't that...?]
W-Whoa, what are you doing?! Give a minute here! [She shouted as she tried her best to outrun the giant ball nearby! Trying her best to run as fast as she could, she needed to get out of the path and fast!]
no subject
[He does slow down a bit, but only so he can follow her and stay one step behind her to tease her with his looming and chilly presence. Yes, he's still humming that tune too. Why is it so damn catchy? One of the life mysteries that will never get an answer.]
no subject
[...Can he? Not that she wanted to find out, she was still trying to run for her life away from that giant ball of his! Didn't she have enough running from those dungeon monsters a while back?]
And not to mention that you’re going to get me really really cold...!!
[A beat] A-And you need to stop singing that song too!
no subject
[They never specified if anything was uncollectible and Jack is the "everything goes" kind of guy, so... sorry Anna, he'll still tease like the asshole he is.
He ignores the cold comment totally on purpose, not wanting his trick to be discovered, but he groan at the mention of the song.] I can't help it, it's been stuck in my head since I started playing. If you manage to get rid of it, I'll hear your methods.
no subject
[As she shouted right back, she was starting to run out of breath. That's what she got for trying to run and yell at the same time.
Which was why he might notice that she was starting to slow down]
T-Then...just think of another song to sing...you'll be able to...get it out of your head! That's...the quickest way, I think!
no subject
[He looks around, as if expecting someone to jump in to take his offer, but of course nobody comes. Jack just shrugs and adds another layer of frost to his ball - isn't it pretty all sparkly like that?
The difficulty in breathing catches his attention, and believe it or not, even Jack has limits in his trolling, so he slow downs too.]
Anna? Forget about singing, I don't think you should be talking right now.
