![]() It's the morning of October 9th when you feel it. At first, it's a gentle rumble. Then, the ground begins to quake harder as a transparent shield erupts from the perimeter of the colony. Those fortunate enough to be standing outdoors will get a glimpse of it as it slowly closes around the colony, forming a glass dome that keeps everything enclosed inside. It may spark your curiosity. It may even cause a bit of fear and anxiety, but other than that, the day remains the same. Plain. Neutral. A little too quiet. That's when the cold sneaks up on you, little by little. You may notice yourself shivering and in need of a warm blanket. It's just a little breeze, right? You might close the windows in your apartment or throw on a sweater. But the cold doesn't stop there. The temperature begins to plummet gradually by the hour, and you notice frost appearing on all visible surfaces. Machines start to malfunction and grow stiff all over. The wind knocks over a few post boxes and signs. Your skin goes numb in places. Shrinkage happens for those who have things that shrink. All in all, it's an unpleasant experience, and the trains are shut down, leaving most of the colony's citizens with limited transportation. However, a figure appears in a dimly corner of the station to brighten your day. He has a blanket laid out with snow globes placed on top, some plain, some rose-tinted. They're all for sale for a meager 25 credits. Since he can't speak, he lets his boom box do the talking for him, letting out a familiar song.

Chocolate - that's this part! [Pointing to one of the chocolate chips in his cookie!] It's extra sweet, and you can eat it by itself, too. Do they not have any where you come from?
no subject
I've never seen anything like it. [ Nor would he, had he not ended up here. Poko, on the other hand, would live many more centuries than she had already. ] It's sweets?
no subject
[And as far as chocolate goes:] That's right! If you don't want to try the ones here, there's a shop in town that makes all kinds of sweets and I'm sure that the owner isn't a robot. They have chocolate there, too!
no subject
I think that would be a better idea. I prefer knowing where things I eat come from.

I can show you how to get there, in that case! Hold on... [He sets the plate of cookies down on the table before rummaging around in his pockets. He's since learned his lesson about texting and how dang long it can take and now carries a pen around everywhere...
After extracting it, he'll pull over a napkin and start to sketch out a little map, complete with arrows and street names. Once he's finished, he flips it over and holds it out.]
Here! If you follow this, you can get there really easily. It's one of the very first shops on the biggest street in that district, so you can't miss it!

He watches the boy draw the map. It's really very useful he adds so much details, because it's hard to find the way around and it's a complicated layout of the town, so different from his Oumi. ]
Thank you very much, that's really helpful. Maps are much easier to understand than just descriptions, in this place.

[He's much more accustomed to the cramped, Victorian-era architecture of Reveille.]
But this should be able to work well enough. Just send me a message if you have trouble, okay?
no subject
Alright, I'll keep that in mind and tell you if I get lost.
no subject
I'll keep my phone with me, then. It shouldn't be too much trouble but it's better to be safe than sorry, right?
no subject
It is, yes. Thank you for that.

[Good job Oz. But he'll at least nod in a friendly way at that!] You're welcome. It was nice meeting you, anyway! You and Poko!
