[there's really nothing spectacular about this outing. well, aside from the fact that nam soon has a duck and dinosaur in tow. the plan is really just to go to the cybuddy shop, have them checked out for routine maintenance, and maybe pick up a couple of toys for them.

but the problem with these two is that they're as mischievous as toddlers—the duck, moreso. while the dinosaur is content to waddle at his side, the duck? he's everywhere. climbing up nam soon's body as he walks, clinging to his shoulder, trying to climb atop his head. it really doesn't work well when he's trying to, you know, get somewhere.]

Aigoo... can't you stay still once in a while? [he's grumbling as he walks, which draws the ire of the dinosaur, who is now intentionally slapping his tail against nam soon's leg as he walks. the boy needs help. and maybe to gripe at heung soo for not being there to help him deal with this shit.]

Oh, Mary-ya...ghhh....

[he's been so distracted by the pets that he didn't even notice her approaching, and his attempt to greet her is sort of sidetracked by the duck tugging on his hair with his beak. thanks.

the dinosaur, on the other hand, is curious enough to go right up to mary. who knows what he really wants. attention, probably.]

Cybuddies. [nam soon, no. that is not what mary meant when she asks that. but it just doesn't occur to him in his infinite distraction that she means the dinosaur specifically.]

[ ... Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be dangerous, so Mary crouches down and oh-so-slowly offers her hand. She's not entirely sure it won't rip her hand off, but if it's Nam Soon's... she'll take a chance. ]

But what kind? It looks like a lizard.

[okay, that makes more sense. it takes him a second to answer, since he's a little sidetracked dealing with the duck. but at least in that time, mary can deal with a friendly little dinosaur nuzzling up to her hand. he's pretty affectionate and loves attention—though it's only a matter of time before the duck sees this and gets jealous enough to vie for her attention.]

A dinosaur. Some kind of dinosaur, I guess. [what kind? he has no idea. he's not that smart.]

I thought dinosaurs were supposed to be really big. [ And not this cute?? But she's smiling, some of her nervousness of the unknown dissipating, as she rubs the little dino's head. If they were this small, that's a big improvement, honestly. ]

I don't think a big one would fit in anyone's apartment.

[therefore, not exactly making a good pet. this is obviously CERES nonsense, not how it should actually be, nam soon figures. still, she seems okay with it and the dinosaur is definitely friendly and warming up to her in a hurry.

the cybuddies definitely do better with open affection and care than nam soon or heung soo could ever manage, that's for sure.]

[ And yet they have two, good job guys. Mary's still not sure she could take care of one, so she's more than content to bestow affection on the ones she encounters. Like right now, even if she's just very glad it's so small. ]

[stoic boyfriend bastards and their cute as hell pets. it makes sense, in some strange universe.]

It's easier. Like a normal pet... not like a movie about dangerous dinosaurs. [cerealia definitely doesn't need any jurassic park shit going on. he shrugs a bit, but here it is, the moment he saw coming—the duck leaping of his head to try and swoop away some attention from mary.]

Aigoo, give her some breathing room. There's enough for you both. [the duck is definitely a little more childlike and impatient in that way. though if it gets things literally off his head? hard to complain.]

That's a duck! [ She says it so proudly, but this is mostly because Mary was legit baffled by a pet dinosaur, but... ducks! She's totally happy to pet this one, too. One hand for each pet, she can make it work. ]

One that acts more like a little kid.

[not that he minds much, despite the exasperation. he wouldn't change much about it, after all. for the time being, he's pretty content to stand by and watch, since it gives him a break. besides, mary seems happy about it, and both duck and dino are getting some much craved attention.

A suffix. In Korean... for certain kinds of friends. Younger ones, usually. [that's the best he's got here. he could try to compare it to japanese, but he's not sure he'd even make the right comparison, considering most of what he knows comes from anime.]

[he motions towards the cybuddies, both of whom are much calmer in the fact of mary giving them attention.]

... They are? [ Were they unhappy before? Mary gives them both a considering glance, before she breathes out quietly. ] Then I'm glad I could help... a-and if you ever need help with them again, let me know?

[not so much unhappy as restless and desperate for attention. they got some of that, so it calmed them down a bit.]

Mm. I think they'd like to see Mary-yah again soon. [or maybe it'll just get them out of his hair for a few minutes, but if mary enjoys it, how can he complain?]
