(Open) Come on, choose one. You mustn't be afraid.

Who: Rei Hino

faithfulflame & You! This is open!

Where: All over Cerealia. Entertainment District, Shopping District, Residential District, Research District
What: Rei goes out to check on some people, take care of some business/be social, and spend time with various people.

I. Residential District:

[Today there's a young woman walking rather briskly through the winding streets of the residential areas. She's got something on her mind, a focus and more than a few worries weighing on her of late. There are questions she has, and people she needs to talk to. If it happens that she brushes past you on the street, there may even be a palpable sense of heat following her despite the chill. Her control is slipping, and she needs to get answers and information.

She's heading for specific apartments, preceded by a simple text message request to speak. Athena Cykes, Nonon Jakuzure, Simon Blackquill and England can all expect to hear from Rei at some point, but there are other people she's checking up on. CR can assume they're on this list, I cannot list all of you!

II. CERES Gym:

[Rei's kendo training is coming along well, and she's showing up at the gym even when she doesn't have classes with Sousei to practice both that and her archery, sometimes late into the evening. Her hands are steady as she holds the shinai, and her eyes are focused on each target she looses an arrow at. To an experienced observer she's much more comfortable with the bow, but she's seemingly taking to the bamboo sword rather quickly. Sweat and hard work may not be particularly dignified, but given how insane everything's been lately? She's willing to just give up on that for now.

Hard at work, she may not notice observers until she pauses, or practically sinks down next to a water cooler. Grab her however!]

III. Research District:

[Realizing that her control is in fact slipping and has for a day or so, Rei makes her way to the hospital to get a quick checkup. It's not that she's worried she's overdoing it...but she is, and she's hardly foolish enough to let the signs of stress go unanswered.

After her checkup, she heads out of the medical facility wearing a very severe frown, looking around and hoping she's not going to run into anyone she knows. That's probably not the case, knowing her luck, but she can hope, right?]

IV. Shopping District/Auto Shop:

[This is a bit of a whim of hers, but one she's decided to indulge. It's not like she can't afford something nice, and after the scare with the buses and trains recently it has a bit more practical application. So, here she is, browsing the selection of motor-bikes available. She's actually considering it seriously, simply to have an alternate way to work.

Look out roads...]

V. Closed to Minako Aino:

[The Shopping District was something alright. The selection of things to eye-shop and possibly by rivaled and probably exceeded downtown Tokyo, but Rei'd never quite admit it. She'd also never admit to Minako that she was letting all this stress and worry get to her, but it seemed the blonde had picked up on that without prompting. At least, that was what the raven-haired priestess had assumed when she'd been told that they were going out that evening for shopping and dinner, so that Rei could 'Loosen up a bit!'

And with no choice in it and the matter settled, here they were, outside a large department store. Just before Valentine's Day...]

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

[The fact that Minako's holding on so tight is pretty meaningful to Rei. After all the talking and chatting they've done, and that she's done with her friends from Cerealia this week? A chance to spend honest to goodness alone-time with Minako doing something that the blonde loves is a welcome one. She generally only humors her friend when it comes to shopping, but she's actually making careful mental note of things that draw Minako's attention. Not the little things she exclaims about, but the ones that draw lingering looks.

She also appreciates the chance to work off some stress. Yes, she was worried about Usagi, Makoto, Ami, Mamoru, and the others? But Cerealia had it's own problems too, and they weighed on her just as heavily. Worry about Nui Harime causing trouble, Ryuko and Athena's well-being, Simon's general state, and following up on Ryuko's request to check in on Nonon. The little troll was a bit difficult, but she'd get the hang of it. It didn't hurt that in a lot of ways? She reminded Rei of a much more psychotic, foul-mouthed Usagi. In Chibiusa's body. But that didn't need saying, now did it?

In any event, Rei's enjoying herself, allowing Minako to lead her around and just kind of reveling in the sights, scents, and general enjoyment of being able to let go and be a little selfish. If only for a bit.]

That scarf is really lovely, and so is the hat. [She points over towards another item, a pair of mittens with cat's paw pads.] What do you think of those? Wouldn't they be cute with the scarf?

[Minako turns to look at the cat paw mittens and then beams at Rei. she is happy that Rei is paying attention, participating. that's a good sign] They totally would be!

[her eyes move to a pair of glitzy red high heels, and she giggles] I bet those would look good on you!

[Rei's eyes track to the heels and she snorts.]

M-me?! You're joking!

[That fits her image how, sweetie?]

[well, they look like Sailor Mars' high heels... except for the glitter. Minako just laughs at Rei's stutter]

Come on, you're so flashy! They're perfect! [okay, she's obviously joking here]

[Rei just starts laughing, careful to hide her mouth behind a hand.]

No! I'm the opposite of flashy, Minako-chan! That glitter, it's so gaudy!

[ah, Rei is so cute! Minako gives her arm a quick squeeze]

Fine, fine! But I'm getting you to try on something today. The shoes would've been the easiest thing, but since you refused, I'm going to have to find the most embarrassing outfit for you!

N-no...if you want me to try on the shoes...that's okay...I will.

[Look, Minako, when you get that look in your eye, she just knows she's going to end up in a maid outfit or something...]

No, no! You already refused! You can't take it back! [she wags her finger, and then continues to drag Rei through the crowded streets.

hmmm... now she's on the look out for something to dress Rei in, a girl with a new mission]

...oh spirits what have I done.

[This is going to end badly, she just knows it. But like a good sport, she admits defeat and lets the blonde haul her through the crowd. She even tries to keep up, partially because she knows this won't be so bad. She'll get a chance to dress up for Minako, which is nice. And maybe she can turn the tables and get her too as well.]

[Rei will probably succeed. Minako loves to dress up, to be the center of attention. plus, if she can get Rei to relax, then everything would be worth it, no matter what she has to wear.

and at last, she pauses in front of a shop. it's a shop that doesn't even have too many things in the front window. because.

it is a lingerie shop.

Minako slowly turns her head towards Rei and grins wickedly]

[If that's what Minako had in mind...

Rei stops...her eyes going suddenly very, very wide. Was she serious? Was she serious?!]

M-Minako-chan...you...um...

[She was very comfortable with her body, thank you. But this was lingerie. This was not dress up...]

Are you...serious?!

[it was totally dress up! it wasn't like they were going to buy anything. they ran around in short skirts!]

I'm dead serious! [and she starts walking in] I'm going to find you something incredible!

[And Rei, still held in the crook of Minako's arm, teeters in after her. Her mouth works...and maybe Rei ran around in a skirt, but that wasn't the same as lingerie. There were connotations...]

I...guess I'm at your mercy then.

[She always did give ground to the blonde on these sorts of things. It was key to their relationship.]

[a key that Minako takes full advantage of. still, she was expecting a little more fight from Rei. perhaps she didn't want to make a scene, or she secretly wanted to try on lingerie. Minako just chuckles to herself.

inside the store is full of beautiful, expensive undergarments and lingerie, mostly of the female variety. there is also a section which seems to have toys, but Minako is not paying attention to those things, thank goodness. she releases her hold on Rei in order to inspect some things]

Man, some of this stuff is pretty racy! [well what did you expect Minako]

[Rei doesn't really want to...but making a scene and carrying on about it would just make Minako upset. And make her look bad. She'd put her foot down at the toys, which receive a cursory glance and deep blush...but lingerie she can deal with. For Minako only, really.]

It's...lingerie...what did you expect? I mean...that's what it exists to be...

Yeah, you're right. [she makes a thoughtful sound as she steps up to a rack and pulls down a purple number. she holds it up to herself first, to compare, and then turns to put it against Rei]

Nah. [she hangs up that one and does the same with two more of the same style, but in different colors. they're not too revealing. at least they have a sheer covering along the length of the body. Minako doesn't want to scare Rei off]

[Rei bears this in pop-eyed silence, looking at the outfits that Minako is so casually selecting like they might bite. Of course they don't, but she's still about as red as a tomato. This woman...she's got to be messing with her. There's no way she'd want to go and have Rei try on lingerie without...well, did she want to see Rei dressed up like that?

That thought renews the heat in her cheeks, and decidedly all over. Not because she'd mind...but because the connotations...]

...nothing...too racy, please.

[when Rei speaks so softly, Minako has to look over at her...

oh, that blush. it's as though Rei's whole body has turned red! Minako was just trying to have a little fun, but Rei was clearly uncomfortable. she sighs and puts the outfits back on the rack]

Hey, I'm sorry. We don't have to do this if you don't want to.

[Rei blinks, looking at the blonde with obvious gratitude. She appreciates the concern, but it's not that she wouldn't, it's just that she's having a hard time wrapping her brain around Minako wanting to see her like this. It's also just kind of a public place...]

It's not that I won't. I just...there are people around. I don't mind trying a few things on...I just only really want you seeing me...y'know?

[And that in and of itself is a big admission for Rei.]

[for some reason, that makes Minako blush, as well. she looks around at the other people...]

No one else is gonna see us. There are private dressing rooms we can use. I would never force you to parade around half-naked for other people.

I...I would certainly hope not.

[Rei's stammer dies as she notes the blush.]

Your going to try something on with me though, yes? So I'm not alone?

[to that, Minako nods, her own blush fading as she smiles hugely]

Of course! I want to look sexy too! [Minako, please]

...

[Yep. Rei's blushing. Not disagreeing, but definitely blushing. She's not going to argue...nope, nope.

After a minute though, she manages to croak out:]

I should pick you out something then.

[oh! that makes Minako's smile widen]

Yeah! Go ahead! [that will make this much more fun, she thinks! and, of course, she is confident that whatever she wears, she will look amazing in it]

[The ready agreement made Rei's inner self smirk. Yes she was embarrassed. Yes, she was reduced to a stammering, stuttering mess because she'd wound up getting wound up by Minako. But that didn't mean she was without recourse. She'd picked up on the blonde's blush, which meant something. That she was not entirely alone in her attraction.

And she's just been given permission to find her skimpy lingerie to try on.]

Five minutes then, and let's meet up at the dressing room.

[Can't spoil the surprise. SHE at least intends to make some of the outfits silly. And then surprise her with a really nice one.]
