Tea for Two is a little corner cafe that doesn't look very impressive on the outside and is pretty small on the inside, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in environment. You might expect it to be more like a little bookshop than a cafe with the comfortable reading chairs, the corner benches and the quiet atmosphere, but it's definitely a cafe. They only serve tea, drink wise, and have a stellar selection of both hot and cold options. Everything is organic, including the small number of snacks they offer.

Your badges are colored olive and display "Jade" and "Manfred" in white letters.

[It's certainly not the worst environment for the occasion. Jade's not one who's wanted anything to do with romance. But once he found out that he had been signed up for this service by someone (he thinks he has some inkling as to who would want to prank him in such a way), he thought that to ignore this would be to let that prankster win. Instead, he's determined to be to deliver as satisfying a date experience as he can.

He arrives dressed in his usual outfit, which consists of his military regalia, his name badge now temporarily placed upon it. There is not much out of the ordinary, aside from the fact that he is wielding a very small bouquet of roses. There also seems to be some cologne on him, but that's actually an ordinary thing for him.

Jade arrives at the exact minute that the blind date has been scheduled for, and he scans the area curiously for someone with a matching badge. What is in store for him...?]

( Manfred wishes he'd brought a spare marker with him so he could make himself a new name tag that would better fit his chosen color scheme. That, unfortunately, would've required more advance notice, which he hadn't received. It irks him, because he hates being anything less than 100% prepared. Nonetheless, he thinks himself the type of man who is ready for any curveballs life throws his way, so when he receives notification of this 'blind-date' event, he decides to simply let it happen.

Besides, he has a sneaking suspicion who would've signed him up for such a service and luckily for Mabel, today he doesn't feel like shooting the messenger.

He's wearing a dark navy suit with less embellishments than his trademark garments (ever since the CERES tour, his old clothes had never been the same again) together with a cravat, previously owned by one Miles Edgeworth.

Forever the type of man to arrive several minutes already, he's already seated at a table by the corner, cane (also a recent acquisition) resting by the leg of his chair.

As he spots Jade enter and scan the room, Manfred finds himself having to reassess his prior assumptions.

He had thought that Jade was a woman's name.

If he takes too long to make his approach, Manfred will beckon him over. )

[Yes, good progress Manfred. Please don't shoot the messenger. In fact, don't shoot anything.]

[Once he enters, Jade's eyes pass over everyone in the area, in search of the telltale matching badge. But it's not long at all before he manages to spot said badge... being worn by a rather-severe looking man who looked old enough that he should only be properly paired with Miss Recreare.

Jade doesn't have actual intentions of romance, so doesn't let this really phase him. He just smiles lightly as if this is a completely ordinary match-up and he approaches him. 'Manfred'. Ah, in case anyone had any doubts as to his gender.]

Good afternoon, Manfred. [He pulls up the empty seat at the table.] It seems we're to be each other's company this afternoon.

Indeed. ( He looks his companion up and down, deciding to tread carefully with this one. There's so many things he could do or say, but he doesn't want to give the impression that he doesn't want to be here - that he does things that he doesn't want to do - so instead he gestures towards the roses. )

Are those for me?

( He asks it with just a hint of a smirk on his face. )

[He smiles lightly as he holds out the flowers across the table for Manfred.]

They certainly are. [He speaks in a casual manner, but with a vague lack of sincerity in his voice.] Are they not to your liking?

They'll do. ( He picks up the flowers, now with an expression of carefully crafted disinterest on his face. Conveniently, there just so happens to be a thin, empty vase on the table so, voila! In they go. ~~+10 romance points~~. Once that's dealt with, Manfred returns his regard to his companion. )

Now, tell me. You don't seem like the type of man who resorts to a dating service to meet people. What brings you here today?

( He realizes Jade can ask the same question of him, so actually has a perfectly crafted answer that is actually the truth, a rarity for the likes of Manfred von Karma. )

[Jade just looks on confidently as Von Karma takes the flowers. Despite having a look of disinterest, he's placed it in that vase. So, such tokens of sentiment could even be effective on the elderly and severe.

Jade gives a light shrug as he goes on.]

You're certainly perceptive. As it happens, it's somewhat of a mystery. Someone must have imagined that I need romance in my life, or that it would be amusing for me to attempt the pursuit. Either way, I'm sure that this will prove to be an educational experience.

[He motions towards Von Karma.]

May I ask the same of you?
