november 8, morning, tech & auto shop, pascal
Besides, he thinks he broke his DS ripoff while he was off being crazy.
At around ten, he enters a repair shop, watch and gaming console in hand as he scans the area for someone who can help him. There doesn't seem to be anybody running the shop today... or so he thinks. ]
Hello? Anybody?
[ He idly fiddles with the nearest machine like it's a smart idea... ]

[Indeed Yata, someone has been there the whole time. Actually she's been there since last night, working away on some repairs and also some new inventions on the side. She hasn't exactly slept much--maybe a few hours tops--and has definitely not bathed.
She scowls at him a moment from behind the equipment and then blinks.] Oh! Hey, it's you! [What was it again...] Yata, right?

[ He clutches the box his things are in as he stumbles backward, only to be saved by a shelf behind him. But it still hurts! Things are rarely soft in places like repair shops. He isn't surprised by her sudden appearance as much as he is with her location. Here, of all places? ]
P-Pascal? [ HER AGAIN... WHY... He sputters before he can make a a coherent sentence. ] Ha... Haha, what's up? Wh-what are you doing?
no subject
[But hey, that's her line. She cants her head a little.] Huh? I work here, of course. I help people fix stuff but sometimes I just hang out here and make new stuff too. [She eyes the box he's holding.] What're you doing here?
no subject
Um, I got some stuff that needs fixing. I mean, the watch just needs new batteries, but uh...
[ He shows her what looks like a digital watch and a dual screen handheld gaming console. ]
The A button broke while I was playing Pockymon. [ Yeah. ]
no subject
Whoa, neat! It looks pretty fancy. [Or at least fancier than she's use to. But the gaming console causes her to light up.] Oh my gosh! Does that play games like the ones here? [She was really addicted to those... so how cool is it that he has his own?!
She'll take that too.] Anyway, these shouldn't be a problem to fix. Anything else?
no subject
Haaah, I'm glad to hear that. I'll let you know when I break my TV. —Not that I plan to!
[ At the rate these events are going, he's surprised he hasn't broken anything. There's a delay that ends a little too late when he speaks up again. ]
But you know, I didn't take you for the type...
no subject
She picks up the watch first to look it over more closely then sets it down and begins to rummage through the toolbox underneath the desk.]
The type for what? .... Ugh! Where is that thingamabob? I know you're in here! [She tosses some tools out of the box.] Oh, but if you do break your TV I can fix that too. I'm pretty good with this stuff.
no subject
Seriously? [ That reminds him of someone he knows. ] Hey, what kinda stuff do you make?
no subject
Anything you want! I even made a robot once although I never found a good use for it... but it worked and everything! [She plops herself down on the stool at her work desk and hunches over a bit, examining the watch before she gets to prying open the back of it. Despite her rowdy and rough nature her hands move quite carefully as she works.]
Didja want something made?
no subject
I want a hoverboard! Haha, just kidding...
no subject
Sure, consider it done! What is it anyway?

[ It's a skateboard with a flame decal on the underside and the letters HMR on either end... in thug font. The underside also looks worn from many scratches made by something sharp. ]
no subject
She snatches it from him immediately when he bring it over and begins to examine it too. Oh, oh... she sees how this works!] Neato! So you ride around on this, huh? [That seems oddly fitting of him...
She lowers it and nods.] I guess with the kind of stuff they've got laying around there's gotta be something that'll make it float. I can built one just like this easy but I'll have to figure out how to make it float and move and stuff. But don't worry, leave it to me! I can totally do it.
no subject
[ Back in his world, it's two years before 2015 and they are nowhere close to getting hoverboards. What a disappointment. ]
no subject
Pascal lifts her hand in the air, grinning.] Yuppers! I mean you'll have to give me a little while but I can totally do it. It doesn't sound too hard in theory. There's gotta be parts around here for it and stuff.
[She points to his skateboard.] Do you want me to make it look like that?
no subject
Yeah, with the symbol and everything. That flame's the mark of HOMRA. It's important.
[ He bumps his chest with his fist. Yo... ]

[In that case she takes a moment to study the skateboard and then nods, Pulling out her device she beings to pull up various screens and keyboards. The way she types on it and uses it seems like second nature; as if she had used it all her life. She seems to be making notes and calculations of sorts before the screens pop away and she snaps her fingers.]
Yeeeeaah! I love it when a plan comes together! [Device still in hand she lifts it to snap some pictures of the skateboard. Gotta make sure she gets the symbol and flames and whatever right...] Gimme a little bit though. I dunno how long it'll take and I have lots of other stuff to work on around here but I'll do it. [Read: she gets distracted a lot... but she does always complete her work!] I'll message you when it's finally done. Scout's honor!
no subject
You're the best, Pascal!
[ But wait, isn't this the sort of project that costs more than six zeroes? Yata can't impose too much on her when she's getting nothing in return. He has that troubled look on his face again as he holds the edge of the counter. ]
—I-I'll pay you when I get the money! I promise.
no subject
Pascal grins and shakes her head,] Nah, this one is totally on me. No worries, buddy! Consider it a thanks for helping me out when I first got here. [It'll be fine. She has plenty of spare parts and stuff she can work with... and malfunctioning robots she can take apart for parts too. She won't really need to buy anything, really. She thinks.
She glances at his game system and watch on her work table though.] Buuutttt I'll need money for the repairs you brought here today. That's because I have to though. The guy who runs this store is a real grouchy grandpa.
no subject
Oh, man! I can't thank you enough... Right, here. [ He hands her his card. ] When can I pick 'em up?
no subject
But really she'll do anything for a friend. It's a bonus that this 'anything' involves something she really loves to do. She's actually pretty glad he asked for this because it sounds like a real challenge to make and that's awesome.]
Don't mention it! [She takes the card from him and brings it over to a different machine in the corner. It's more or less what a modern day credit card reader looks like and she swipes it through, calculating the total for fixing his two items.]
It'll be finished in a jiffy! Come back later this afternoon and I'll have 'em ready. [And then she returns his card with a smile.] I'll make them good as new. Maybe even better than new.
no subject
He plays with his card a little before holding it still with both hands, his frown accompanied by some hesitance. ]
Aight, but uh... don't change anything about the watch. Battery aside, I wanna keep it as it is.
