november 8, morning, tech & auto shop, pascal
Besides, he thinks he broke his DS ripoff while he was off being crazy.
At around ten, he enters a repair shop, watch and gaming console in hand as he scans the area for someone who can help him. There doesn't seem to be anybody running the shop today... or so he thinks. ]
Hello? Anybody?
[ He idly fiddles with the nearest machine like it's a smart idea... ]
no subject
[Indeed Yata, someone has been there the whole time. Actually she's been there since last night, working away on some repairs and also some new inventions on the side. She hasn't exactly slept much--maybe a few hours tops--and has definitely not bathed.
She scowls at him a moment from behind the equipment and then blinks.] Oh! Hey, it's you! [What was it again...] Yata, right?
no subject
[ He clutches the box his things are in as he stumbles backward, only to be saved by a shelf behind him. But it still hurts! Things are rarely soft in places like repair shops. He isn't surprised by her sudden appearance as much as he is with her location. Here, of all places? ]
P-Pascal? [ HER AGAIN... WHY... He sputters before he can make a a coherent sentence. ] Ha... Haha, what's up? Wh-what are you doing?
no subject
[But hey, that's her line. She cants her head a little.] Huh? I work here, of course. I help people fix stuff but sometimes I just hang out here and make new stuff too. [She eyes the box he's holding.] What're you doing here?
no subject
Um, I got some stuff that needs fixing. I mean, the watch just needs new batteries, but uh...
[ He shows her what looks like a digital watch and a dual screen handheld gaming console. ]
The A button broke while I was playing Pockymon. [ Yeah. ]
no subject
Whoa, neat! It looks pretty fancy. [Or at least fancier than she's use to. But the gaming console causes her to light up.] Oh my gosh! Does that play games like the ones here? [She was really addicted to those... so how cool is it that he has his own?!
She'll take that too.] Anyway, these shouldn't be a problem to fix. Anything else?
no subject
Haaah, I'm glad to hear that. I'll let you know when I break my TV. —Not that I plan to!
[ At the rate these events are going, he's surprised he hasn't broken anything. There's a delay that ends a little too late when he speaks up again. ]
But you know, I didn't take you for the type...

november 8, afternoon, game center, ki-ja
Hey, you! You play?
no subject
He doesn't even know what he was standing in line for. BUT FINALLY. ]
Play? [ Oh. Inviting him. Right. ] I suppose I can join you. What are you suppose to do in this one?
no subject
[ He jerks a thumb at the game. ] It's a dancing game. Just follow the arrows. C'mon!
[ Sorry Ki-ja, you're getting dragged. Literally. ]
no subject
[ Wow okay he's going, he's going!
Finally getting on the pad, Ki-ja stares blankly at all the colors and arrows. ]
F-follow the arrows? Like this? [ Just... uselessly flailing one arm THIS MAKES NO SENSE. ]
no subject
See those arrows? [ He points at the D-pad below them. ] Step on those when they reach the top! [ Then, he points at the screen. ]
Hey, I'll let you pick the song.
no subject
[ Sure it was weird, but Ki-ja was suddenly interested! Looks like dancing here was far different from what he was use to. ]
Me? O... okay! I will pick one!
[ Let's see... this pad had the songs on them? Ki-ja flips to the first one, and jumps when he hears the music that comes from it. Wow, that sounded so cool!
But... what about the others? He flips to the next one, repeating the same reaction.
And the next one
And the next one.......... wow that timer sure is running out. ]

november 9, morning, gym, sousei
[ That Minato guy on the network did say he took up the sport. Yata will be completely honest: he's only here because he wants to spot the one falling asleep during stretches and say, "That's him!" But when he arrives, kendo classes had just ended, so even as he cranes his neck to try and guess the narcoleptic, he never gets the chance to. Students flooding out the door make that difficult. ]
Well, he did say he used to...
[ But he doesn't expect to see a familiar face. ]
Eh? Sousei?
no subject
this punka guy like Yata in a place like this. Kendo is a sport of discipline, after all....and of all of the impressions Yata had made, disciplined was not one of them.Still, it's quiet in the dojo now, and Sousei is left just tilting his head, blinking once at the new loudmouth intruder.]
...Yata. Are you here for a reason?
[Somehow, it's hard to imagine him practicing....]
no subject
Ah, no, I don't wanna do kendo or anything!
[ No one was expecting him to... In any case, it seems like he had just showered after a workout himself with wet hair and a fresh change of clothes. ]
Just wondering if someone was here. You know a guy called Arisato?
no subject
Even if that was what Sousei expected, there is still something about hearing it that way that is just........
He shakes his head slowly, once.]
No, I am not familiar with anyone with that name. There is no need to be so concerned--I do not intend to force you into practicing.
[Since, you know, you sounded so panicked.]
no subject
Oh, cool. You had the sort of face that made me think you were gonna make me do a hundred strikes or something, hehe.
no subject
This is how I always look.
[he just doesn't emote, gosh!!!]
Were you searching for Arisato for a particular reason? If he comes here, I can inform you of it.

november 9, afternoon, medical facility, zara
... CYbuddy malfunction.
[ He doesn't even greet Zara since he can feel his judging stare. He might not be giving it now, but he's expecting it. ]
no subject
The judgemental stare is closer to a disappointed one; he sighs, shaking his head in disbelief as he approaches. ]
... Yata. Look at you... You look terrible. You really must take better care of yourself.
no subject
He thinks that, but he keeps coming here anyway. ]
It's fine! They're battle scars. And if the robot cats on aisle nine don't like me, it ain't my fault, right?
no subject
Battle scars from housecats? That doesn't sound like something to be particularly proud of.
[ unless they were the housecats from his world. and in human form. ]
no subject
I can be proud of them if I say they were lions. [ Then, he sulks. ] But lying is bad, so keep it a secret.
no subject
[ said with a slightly patronizing tone. There's a difference, Yata! ]
... There's no need to worry. Words between a doctor and his patient are strictly confidential. Now, hold your arm out, please.
[ turning around, he brings a tray with alcohol and a wet towel on it. They just appear to be normal scratches, and nothing too deep; disinfecting them should be good enough. ]
