[ SO, despite america's everything -- it's most likely that the person most excited about tonight is him. he's been posting flyers, he's been talking about to everyone who comes into mcceres, he's been planning his outfit. he's just been so excited! people! places! things! he's gonna have a blast.

he even went so far as to rent out one of the game rooms at the game center this evening. there's tables spread around with paper and pens and dice on each one, there's arcade machines around the edges of the room (racing games! shooting games! pac-man games!) and there's a big table on one end of the wall covered with free food. FREE food. a lot of it is catered by mcceres but for anyone who has had mcceres in the past, it's much better tonight! america's influence as general manager has extended enough to make the mcceres of cerealia comes close, if not equal to, the mcdonalds of america. do you want chicken nuggets? there are definitely chicken nuggets.

when people come into the game room that night, america will be by the door, dressed like a huge nerd (it's a PARTY) and holding a very dumb top hat in his hand. he'll give you a piece of paper and pen to write down your name and drop it into the top hat, saying it's for SOMETHING SPECIAL. that's not sketch at all! he won't leave until the room gets pretty crowded and after that, you can all watch as he takes the top hat and strides over to the middle of the room and hops up on one of the tables. he has a microphone now! dear god, why did anyone give him a microphone? ]

Hellooooo, fellow captives! I'm assuming it's just captives here because if it's any Cerealia natives, you caaaan get the fuck out! Haha, no one needs you here. [ he'll pause for those people to get the fuck out and after a moment, continues. ] Welcome to the first annual Tapletop Games of Cerealia, sponsored by McCERES. I'm your host -- the United States of America and I'm really happy to have y'all here!

[ who is he even talking to ]

Now, you've probably put your name in a hat sometime tonight! [ america... ] This is going to make you eligible for our grand prize! We're gonna have a few games running, arcade, tapletop, whatever. I think I even got a few games of monopoly back there... But the Dungeons & Dragons is the most important here! Because those who play tonight, especially with me, are eligible to win...

[ he bangs the microphone against his palm a few times in a drum roll ]

FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS or uh, credits, I guess? Whatever! Five thousand of it! How do you win this, you may ask? Easy! Create the most amusing story to tell in your game tonight and you will win. I'm the only judge though so, haha. Amuse me!

[ you sound a bit crazy now, america. ]

Dungeons & Dragons is all about being super duper dope and hilarious and bonding with your friends. So, do that really well and you'll win five grand! Only one person can get the prize though so you're even gonna be competing with the people in your group with you! Haha, suckers.

[ and then he pauses and... ]

[ group two! you're up next. is this after group one? before group one? who knows! but it's happening.

this time america's pretty fair in his choices, sitting at a table and digging through the hat as he goes. he is not being super PG-13 here though as he has a beer in front of him that he's taking a drink of as he pulls out names. shoveling some chips into his mouth after, he calls out, mouth full, into the microphone. ]

Uhh, Ruby Rose! Rock Lee! Mabel Pines! And Himeko Inaba! Get your butts over here on the double!

[ taking another swig of beer as he puts down the mic and when they're over, he'll ask -- all smiles, ]

So! Name. Occupation. Fun fact.

[ still creepy the second time over! ]

[Ruby was hovering around the food table when she heard her name called. The fact he was using a microphone to announce it kinda startled her and as such she responds standing military straight.]

RUBY ROSE, HUNTRESS IN TRAINING, COMBAT CORGI!

[It's only after the initial shock wears off that she realizes she's being awkward again, and pulls her hood up over her face to hide the blushing.]

["Combat Corgi"? Such an impressive title! Rock Lee is determined to make his introduction just as bold! So he quickly shoots up with an even more severe military straightness, and he shouts out.]

ROCK LEE, NINJA, KONOHA'S BEAUTIFUL GREEN WILD BEAST!

[Then he salutes and quickly sits back down.]

[Wait, is that how these introductions are supposed to go? Mabel had something much different in mind, but after watching both Ruby and Rock Lee...

The girl hops up on her chair to give her some height, standing up just as straight as she can so she, too, can shout her reply.]

MABEL PINES, STUDENT, PROFESSIONAL MATCH MAKER!

[And now she plops back down in her seat, kicking her feet with a grin.]

[ .... Inaba lets out a groan as she rubs the edges of her nose. She's not going to yell her answer; she's too dignified for that, and besides, following the others doesn't sound like fun.

Which is why she'll just stand up from her seat, arms crossed as she speaks in a polite manner. ]

I'm Inaba Himeko and I'm a high school student as well as a salesperson for the Holo stores. Unless you meant my D&D occupation, because that's -- [ She does an evil pose, complete with a villain laugh ] being an evil villain. Unless I'm not allowed to be evil, then I tend to be the balanced user. I used to be the vice president of the Student Cultural Society club and am pretty am an expert in information technology and analysis, so if anybody needs any help in that field, feel free to ask.

[ just going to... casually drop his hands from his ears now because they totally went up the moment everyone started shouting. seriously, what kind of fun fact is "combat corgi"?

seems like this group is a bunch of teens though so that should be fun! probably. america, please don't be creepy about teens. ]

[ he's going to take a courage swig from his drink, slamming it down with a refreshed "ah" and clap his hands together after. ]

Guess that leaves me! I am the United States of America, I manage our local McCERES branches and I still think people highly underestimate the versatility of a cheeseburger!

[When Rock and Mabel follow suit with their intros, Ruby's face just gets redder and redder. But for the record "combat corgi" is the best kind of fun fact ever. Of all time. As for Ruby she's just going to take a seat and hide under her hood for a bit, her voice barely a whisper.]

I have... no idea what I'm doing...

[He gives a look of concern towards Miss Combat Corgi and then nods.]

Thank you for hosting this adventurous event, sir! I'm ready to do my best, and I also have no idea what I am doing! [He says that very cheerily, though.] I'm looking forward to figuring out everything as I go along!

[Combat Corgi is the best fun fact, even if she's not totally aware of what it means.

Mabel raises her hand enthusiastically when it's her turn to speak.]

I know some of the basics! It involves dice and battle and using your imagination!

[Dipper tried it, once, and she's absorbed some information through nerdy brother osmosis. But he has no imagination unlike her, so he gave up too soon for her to actually learn anything useful.

She puts her hand back down.]

I know the basics as well, though how we actually play tends to depend on the DM -- since sometimes they go off the rulebook to make custom rules so it'll be easier on everyone.

And don't worry; I have no plans on killing anyone immediately when I play. That'll just ruin the suspense.

[ he's just going to be hella encouraging now and slap ruby on the back hard with a laugh. ]

You'll probably never know what you're doing! That's just life for you! A continuous chain of fuck ups! Hahaha!

[ america stop talking to little girls. after that, he gives a thumbs up to rock and nods along to mabel and inaba. good, none of them have any expectations. ]

I'm the DM of this game so it works out. Gonna be pretty simple! We're not using the official stuff, my own world instead and pretty bare bones. Short game too, nothing too ridic. Please don't team kill.

[ clearing his throat!! and reaching for a pencil and some paper. he ends up writing a bunch of stuff down and pushing it forward to everyone else. ]

That's what you should use to create your characters. The numbers, just plug it in with the stats you think will help you.

[ then he gestures to the dice on the table ]

Those are what we play with! Roll the dice for... pretty much everything! Most especially checks and attacks. Attacks are straightforward and checks are when you want to check shit out in the game. The closer you get to twenty with either of them, the better your chances.

[ he nods and throws some chips into his mouth, following with his mouth full. ]

Make your characters now and we'll start. Describe 'em as best you can. Appearance, class, whatever. Y'all can give me backstory too if you want. Just tell me things.

[Ruby just cocks her head as she looks through stuff, trying to make sense of it all.]

I guess a human ranger sounds nice? I usually keep range in a fight...

[Rock Lee makes some noises as he scribbles at the paper.]

Hmmm... I believe that I have made my decision. The most noble creature presented seems to be the "Centaur". So, my character will be a centaur and a fighter... his alignment is Lawful Good!

This man has trained every day of his life to be the strongest centaur in the world, and to protect everyone close to him. And this noble centaur's name... shall be Gai-Sensei!!!

[There's a few thoughtful hums coming from the little girl writing on her own piece of paper, but eventually she puts down her pencil with a proud look on her face and pipes up when it's her turn.]

My character is definitely going to be a fairy! Born and raised in a cute little fairy village, she strikes out on her own in search of adventure and love! She's a thief, too, stealing treasure and riches and hearts all across the land!! But she's not a bad person, always looking out for people who need help and making friends everywhere she goes!

With her mischievous, no-holds-barred attitude and her girlish wiles, but kind and gentle heart, she's most certainly aligned with Chaotic Good!

[ By the time everyone's done talking, Inaba has managed to finished jotting down her notes on her own paper, sporting a rather mischievous grin upon her lips. ]

I will be playing the elf cleric then, to even things out. She's born an orphan, so she's forced to leave the town on her own to survive. Although the young elf may act as if she doesn't care about anybody else, she's honestly just a Jerk with a Heart of Gold. Though she's awkward around people she doesn't know too well because she doesn't trust much people due to being betrayed repeatedly by others to the point where she was ostracized by several small villages just because of her race.

Prioritizing on intelligence and dexterity, she goes by the name of... [ Crap. She's bad at names. While she's tempted to just take the first character of her name, that looks kind of lame, so she eventually goes with-- ] Iori. I'm a Chaotic Neutral, so don't piss me off. I may not PK you, but I will hurt you if I have to.

[ as people list their roles, he writes them down on a piece of paper for reference, adding in numbers for people who haven't listed theirs yet. when they're done, he tries to sum it up, tapping the paper with his pencil as he does. ]

So, we have Ruby Rose, the human ranger who we know literally nothing else about! Boring. Then we have Gai-sensei the centaur! Kinda like that dude from Harry Potter, bet he likes stars too. Thieferbell, the fairy aaaand Iori the TV Tropes Elf.

[ looking back up at them ]

[Ruby is much more tactically focused so she didn't really think that far ahead with her character, but she does speak up after the recap, having put a tiny bit more thought into it.]

Summer Rose... a mysterious ranger that goes from town to town, hunting monsters and righting wrongs as she finds them.

Ah... Gai-Sensei does look up to the stars every night! He makes a wish on every last one for those he cares about! But he does not know any potters...

[Then he whips over towards Ruby.] He can be friends with Summer Rose if you want! He can have taught her anything you would like!
