Teeny Weeny String Bikini [OPEN!]

Where: Indoor waterpark in the Entertainment District
What: An indoor waterpark adventure! It's like a beach episode in the middle of the winter! Basically, Nonon wanted to go with just Ryuko but suddenly more people were invited than she intended. Now the word is out, it's not longer a private date for the two, and instead filled with friends, food and swimming!

It all started with a simple text message to Ryuko. Nonon had found a bikini she wanted to wear and heard about an indoor waterpark in the Entertainment District that is heated in the wintertime. And what she had secretly hoped to be a day out between her and her sister's best friend that she might or might not be feeling some sort of unresolved tension with, suddenly grew bigger when she was told to invite Athena. Soon more and more people were invited until it was a small crowd all planning to meet up at the waterpark.




And what a park it is!

With a giant heat lamp in roof overhead it's almost like being at the beach in summer! The change of temperature as soon as you arrive is almost staggering. The heat is a nice change of pace though from the snowstorm that had hit earlier over Christmas, making it all the better reason to rip off your clothes down to your swimsuit and enjoy a day in the water!!

There is plenty to do:

Water slides!

A wave pool!

A hidden grotto with hot tubs for secret rendezvous...

Lazy river!

Deliciously fruity cocktails from the swim-up bar that are known to be deceptively alcoholic...

Some local jerk has even brought food for people to eat, or you can eat at the snack bar!

Sunbathing!

Chicken fights!

And of course, swimming with friends!

Just be careful around the little robotic crabs that move around, as the self-cleaning systems. There's rumors that if they were all to come together in one place they might form into a giant dangerous crab robot that would need to be battled, in some kind of... Crab Battle. So don't do that.

The park closes at 9:00pm, and the sun slowly turns off with sundown, so enjoy a romantic evening lit by underwater lights.

[ Athena, of course, wants to experience the park's amenities fully, so she checks out each attraction to spend a decent amount of time there. Her hearing is impeccable, but she's completely lost in the sound of relaxation. Her eyes are closed, and her hair is down, flowing in the water.

At the sound of the voice, she turns her head slightly and looks at Rei. She looks a bit drowsy (she might have been taking a nap just then, shh...), and her face is flushed red, but that's probably because of the heat. ]

Sorry, did you say something?

[ Sorry indeed. :'D ]

[Rei looks over with a half-tired sigh, her eyes already a bit lidded as well. Her lips curl into a lazy smile. Athena, you're either not listening or really fishing for compliments.

It's not that unusual to have to repeat herself though, especially when she's saying nice things about someone. A lot of her friends at home are surprised when she's open and honest about her feelings]

I said that I'm glad I met you.

[ Hearing it the second time really cleared things up. That's such a nice thing to hear! Though most of Athena's energy has been drained by the day; it's why she's relaxing in the grotto. Normally, she'd give a big reaction to being told that they were happy to meet her, but all she can do now is cry. ]

Ha ha! They just came out on their own!

[That...jerks Rei upright, and she scootches closer to Athena with a worried expression. That's not the reaction she'd expected, not at all.]

Athena-chan, what's wrong?

Sorry! I didn't mean to start crying this time, honest, [ she says with a smile. She splashes some water on her face, but that just makes her face all the more wet. It seems that she's stopping herself from crying some more, though. ]

You just made me really happy, that's all.

[faithfulflame]

That's...good?

[Rei seems just a little bit confused. Why are you that happy?]

I'm glad, but does it really make you that happy?

I wouldn't lie about something like this. [ A beat. ] If I had Widget on me right now, he'd tell you, too.

[ She really is happy. All her friendships weigh so much to her, and she'd do anything to keep things in tact. ]

[faithfulflame]

[Rei blushes a lot...having never experienced something like this before. Most people thought she was a mean, sarcastic person who had nothing positive to say about anything. Really,awkwardly, Cerealia was the first time she'd had friends who weren't Sailor Senshi. ]

I...believe you. It's all just a little unusual for me, having normal friends. And people who react like that...

[ She cocks her head curiously. ]

What do you mean by normal friends?

[faithfulflame]

Would you believe me, Athena-chan, if I told you I believed that some people are fated to meet?

[Maybe it's the alcohol from earlier, maybe the relaxing and private environment, or maybe it's the fact that she's already been outed as a superheroine for weeks to some friends, but this is a conversation that seems alright. That Athena should know at least some of it.]

Fate, huh? That's pretty deep, Rei.

[ But she thinks about it, of course. AS SOMEBODY WHOSE GAME TITLE HAS "DESTINIES" IN IT—

As somebody who's romantic (not in the "love" way), she had certain beliefs when it came to mystery and excitement. She was an artist when she was younger, after all. She travelled various worlds in the drawings she created, and it took her away from the remoteness of everyday life. Not to mention, she's met so many people along the way of her mission who's helped her out in so many ways. ]

I might not look like it, but I do. Not to mention, I had to study about fate and destiny while studying psychology, too. It's part of finding out who you are.

[faithfulflame]

Well, I can't not believe in it. Because there were eight people I was supposed to meet.

[She says that in all seriousness, her voice growing distant...but still very fond. She remembers life alone, before all of them, and she'd never ever trade friendship for the world. Nothing compares to 14 years of silence being broken by one chance meeting.]

I...had no friends, at all, when I was a child. But I met the first of them when I turned 14. And we knew immediately that we were supposed to meet. Fate.

[ She goes back to relaxing on her side of the tub, but she hasn't stopped listening. ]

How did you know?

[That's okay.]

Have you ever...felt something click in your head? An understanding that you just...didn't have before?

(Somehow, I don't feel like Rei is talking about the sudden revelations we think of in court.)

I don't think something like that has happened to me before.

[faithfulflame]

[Certainly not.]

No, but do you understand the idea, at least?

Yes, I do. That's... That's how fate works, huh?

Something like that. If you’re sensitive to it, things will just click for you. And…you know it’s nice making friends through means that aren’t destiny. Like a normal girl.

Hmmm... it sounds so romantic, though.

Romantic? It doesn't have anything to do with romance!

That's what I think, anyway.

...it's maybe an idealized thing, but love isn't the same.

Anyway, it's nice having made friends without any destiny attached. Even if I do love them.

That sounds so nice to hear...

[ It isn't necessarily romantic, but it makes Athena feel giddy, anyway. It just seems like something you'd hear from a fairytale. ]

The friends you've made here - all of them aren't, um, bound by destiny, right?

[Rei's smile is immediate, accompanied by a laugh.]

No, none of them are, which is the best part.

Then I guess that just means you'll have to make more friends here! I mean, if it makes you feel good, then it's better to keep it going, right?
