- Hey, everyone! Wow, I'm really recording, huh...?
[Leia's face appears on the camera. She might look a little bit nervous, because wow--you can't take back something you say live on video as easily as you can on paper, but don't be fooled. She's determined, and since signing up for a blinde date, she's far more into this Valentine's thing than she ever expected.]
So I know there's a lot going on right now, with everyone recovering and exchanging information. The last thing I want to do is interrupt all that, but it's a new month, and I think Mabel's got the right idea. We need cheer in our lives again, and we need a little romance!
I'm going to be helping her out by selling these adorable heart candies I found. [She holds up one between her fingers before the camera pans to show a small bowl of various colors.] They're color-coded with meanings, so you can tell your friends and loved ones exactly how you feel--and you can even make up your own meanings if you want to.
I'll have them available starting today all the way up until the big day, so be sure to stop by the Game Center and see me! The name's Leia.
Thanks for listening!
[WIPES SWEAT drinks juice really fast. That was a lot of talking she just did. Hopefully she made sense.]
b.) but what if you're color-blind (action)
- [Later on, just like she said, Leia can be found behind a booth near the gaming center. She's set up with little jars of the aforementioned heart candies, as well as small fancy-looking pouch bags coming in white, pink, and red. There are also two neat piles of tags with string attached so they can be tied to the pouches: with one side having the standard To: and From: labels, and the other containing a legend of various colors corresponding to the hearts.
In one pile, the meanings are spelled out; and on the other, they're blank, in case anyone wants to write their own, as she promised.
At the end of the table also, there's a copy of the latest issue of the Cerealia Times for anyone to pick up and read, as well as fliers for Mabel's blind dates. She hopes you've signed up! She isn't shy about inviting people over, either, so if you're passing by, even without having seen her video, you might hear her calling out to you.]
Hi! Need some special candies for your special someone? Maybe a friend?
[She'll give the explanation as many times as she needs to, and talk about all of the different meanings if that's what your character wants! Anyone is welcome to try a couple pieces from the free sample bowl as well, to see how they taste (spoilers: sweet as hell).]

Scoop of the century: the elusive doctor escapes his office!
[It's no surprise then that everything she says sounds like a headline. That's the joke, though (she's only kidding).]
...They're for Valentines' Day, Jude! Have you heard?
no subject
I don't think that's a scoop anyone would actually care about. [He'll joke right back, albeit lamely.
But he's more interested in her handiwork here. The holiday name rings a bell--like he's heard it in passing or seen it advertise--but he of course never bothered to learn about it. Or just never had the time to.]
Well, I've heard the name in passing but I don't really know what it is exactly.

She can't judge too harshly, though. She knows how busy he must be lately, with all the injuries from the tours. Still, she'd bet lunch that he knows more than he's letting on. Oh well.]
It's a holiday that's coming up to celebrate love and romance. Mabel told me about it, and she's even setting people up on dates! With their permission, of course.
I think it's an adorable idea, so I'm helping people celebrate in my own way.

Instead he just smiles at Leia.] Oh, right. I think I heard a few patients talking about it. That's thoughtful of you. [He picks one up at random (red) to examine it.] Who decided what color means what? You?
[He heard her talking to someone else about it so he caught that much, at least. Or maybe this was like the flower thing where there was some kind of "color language" he didn't know about?]
no subject
Sort of. I spent a lot of time flipping through books at the store and took inspiration from them. Some of them were pretty embarrassing to write.
That's when I got the idea to provide blank ones, I think.
[So other people could be embarrassed too--]
no subject
He puts it down a moment later though.] It's a lot like your flowers then, isn't it? You sure do like that kind of stuff. [So childish...
But it isn't a bad idea and he always appreciates Leia's cheerfulness so it's always nice to see her spread it to others.]
no subject
I do. This place needs all the joy it can get. Even a little bit will go a long way.
[She hopes!]
no subject
You're right about that. In that case, can I have some? [He'll get a bunch and give them to patients in the hospital, maybe. The kids there, at least, would be thrilled to have some candy.]
no subject
[She seems excited as she grabs an empty jar to fill it up. It's not hard to tell, of course, that he's thinking about his patients, so she doesn't particularly think the romantic meanings are important here...
She'll offer a few of the blank tags along with it, just in case Jude feels creative and wants to write nice things.
When she's done, the jar is full, and she looks at it critically, wondering if it would be enough.]
no subject
He watches her fill the jar.] That's great. The more variety in colors you can add, the better. [Since the meanings there don't matter to kids but colors do, right? Right.] Actually... are the different colors also different flavors?
no subject
Not... really.]
Yeah, they're supposed to be. The difference is pretty subtle, but they're still tasty.
...They're sweet, too.
[He might not want to give out too many to the kids.]
no subject
Well, that's fine, It's candy. [It's suppose to be sweet and kids like that stuff, usually but...] Did you make them?
[Now he's worried about them being overly sweet.]
no subject
Oh, no! Not these... but I have been learning how to make chocolate.
I found these at the store. They had the chewy kind that looked like gels from back home, too, but they weren't heart-shaped. I figured these would work better.
