Hey, everyone! Wow, I'm really recording, huh...?

[Leia's face appears on the camera. She might look a little bit nervous, because wow--you can't take back something you say live on video as easily as you can on paper, but don't be fooled. She's determined, and since signing up for a blinde date, she's far more into this Valentine's thing than she ever expected.]

So I know there's a lot going on right now, with everyone recovering and exchanging information. The last thing I want to do is interrupt all that, but it's a new month, and I think Mabel's got the right idea. We need cheer in our lives again, and we need a little romance!

I'm going to be helping her out by selling these adorable heart candies I found. [She holds up one between her fingers before the camera pans to show a small bowl of various colors.] They're color-coded with meanings, so you can tell your friends and loved ones exactly how you feel--and you can even make up your own meanings if you want to.

I'll have them available starting today all the way up until the big day, so be sure to stop by the Game Center and see me! The name's Leia.

[WIPES SWEAT drinks juice really fast. That was a lot of talking she just did. Hopefully she made sense.]

b.) but what if you're color-blind (action)

[Later on, just like she said, Leia can be found behind a booth near the gaming center. She's set up with little jars of the aforementioned heart candies, as well as small fancy-looking pouch bags coming in white, pink, and red. There are also two neat piles of tags with string attached so they can be tied to the pouches: with one side having the standard To: and From: labels, and the other containing a legend of various colors corresponding to the hearts.

In one pile, the meanings are spelled out; and on the other, they're blank, in case anyone wants to write their own, as she promised.

At the end of the table also, there's a copy of the latest issue of the Cerealia Times for anyone to pick up and read, as well as fliers for Mabel's blind dates. She hopes you've signed up! She isn't shy about inviting people over, either, so if you're passing by, even without having seen her video, you might hear her calling out to you.]

Hi! Need some special candies for your special someone? Maybe a friend?

[She'll give the explanation as many times as she needs to, and talk about all of the different meanings if that's what your character wants! Anyone is welcome to try a couple pieces from the free sample bowl as well, to see how they taste (spoilers: sweet as hell).]

(( ooc: Interact with Leia or amongst yourselves (top levels are welcome)! This mingle log is dated all the way up til Valentines' Day ICly. You can expect the booth to be set up for at least a couple hours almost every day, likely after her work shift (so if you want cat costume shenanigans, just say the word).

[IV is heading in for a typical round of ViViD at the Game Center when he hears Leia's energetic voice. He glances at the nearby booth, where he sees her talking to somebody else, loud and clear enough for him to overhear. The day is still young and he's early; considering both of these facts, he approaches out of mild curiosity to survey the table.]

Candies, Leia? Are they for Valentine's?

Those candies are adorable! How do you know which colours represent which meanings though? Do they come with a chart of some sort?

[ Jaco didn't know nothin' about human romance, but he was acquainted with a few folks he felt were cool enough to get some human candy for. The pint sized patroller stood by the table with an awkwardly stiff posture.

He gave a quiet nod to Leia before surveying the assorted colors. ]

Which color would "I would fight bad guys with you" ... be?

[ Did he have many friends here, come to think of it? Jaco'd been so caught up with posing on rooftops and intimidating petty thugs that he didn't really socialize a massive amount. ]

[ OTA ]

[ The more he thought about it, the more he realized that social networking was crucial to gathering information. But how? It was a challenge that the alien never really gave much thought to, but now that he did it seemed to bother him immensely. For anyone else who'd like to come and say hello, Jaco was standing off to the side of the table reading one of the candy color legends. ]

Do people like these? Is this customary?

[ He kept looking from the legend to the assortment of jars on the table and huffing loudly. Someone was starting to get frustrated with having to be thoughtful. How about giving the small menace a hand? ]

IV!

[Leia stops practically mid-sentence when she hears his voice. With her attention as flighty as ever, it's a lucky thing that the customer she'd been speaking to was mostly done anyway. She finishes sending them on their way, handing them a bag with everything they need as she answers his question.]

They're definitely for Valentine's. At least, that's the idea.

[It sounds like she has a thing or two to learn, and she got overly excited again. Luckily, Valentine's is a pretty simple, commercial holiday.]

Do you like them?

Oh! [Leia's face shows up on the screen in surprise.] They do, actually. A legend, and I'm offering ones that are blank, too. I'm sorry, I figured it'd be better to show that in person.

Did you want to see them before you come?

[ Although she put a lot of work into setting this up, she doesn't have all of the colors memorized. Leia has to grab a legend from the pile of tags, and when she spots the right one, she'll pull a dark blue heart from the bowl of free sample candies. ]

Here! You're looking for this one. Try it.

[ And she proudly holds it out for him as he thinks. ]

[ Jaco held his palm out for the tiny heart, and when he received it he held it close to his face in examination. ]

This is the one for fighting?

[ He swiped his hand out with unnecessarily exaggerated flair and took a legend of his own, holding it up to the candy as he studied the two. ]

I see... Earth sweets taste strange. Are these good? Earthlings like candies don't they?

[ He cautiously slipped the sample into his mouth before pulling his lips into a tight contemplative line. It wasn't anything like his world's food, but that didn't mean he couldn't eat them. ]

[ She allows the legend to answer his question when he grabs one. She watches with anticipation when he tries the piece, curious as to what he'd think of it; but of course she'll chime in with her opinion when prompted. ]

We do! [ ...wait. ] Well, I'm... not really from Earth, but it might be a human thing. Sweet stuff like candies and chocolates are usually safe bets, but there are people who don't like it, too.

It just depends.

[ ...hm. ]

What do you think of them?

[Upon being addressed, IV glances up from his lazy inspection. He feels that he's the wrong person to be asking that, but he has to admit that the booth brings more festivity to the upcoming holiday.]

The look? It's not bad.

[He reaches into the free sample bowl, pops a candy in his mouth, and nods.]

And the candy's sweet.

Hey, Leia.

[Hinata isn't too big of a frequenter of the game center... and when she first made her little video announcement Things were happening, but now he's come to check out what she's selling because it sounds cute.

Besides, it couldn't hurt his head to get it into a better place... SO HERE HE IS, NOT BEING A STRANGER.]

So these're the candies you're selling, huh... [CUTE. He crouches to get a better look into the jars.]

[Busy as always, Jude just happened to be wandering by when he notices Leia's booth of candy. He pauses curiously, watching her interact with a few people first before he finally approaches it.]

Hey, Leia. [He examines the display of candies.] What're all these for?

Yeah, I know. [Says the person who has to fight the temptation of being around them, all the time.] It might be too much for some people, but in this case, it's definitely the thought that counts.

I wanted to help people who might want to express their feelings, but were just too shy to do it. The holiday gives me a pretty good excuse.

Hinata!!

[She'd been doing something idle, probably, like straightening the piles of tags or the newspapers. When she hears Hinata's voice though, she turns around, and for once the candy in front of her fades, suddenly not quite as important. This won't stop her from watching his reaction anyway as he peers into the jars; she's curious, and she wants everyone to enjoy them. She hopes they do.

But...]

... How're you feeling?

[Things™ are important.]

[...Ah! Leia knows that voice anywhere. Of course the two are way too close to not keep in touch, but it still puts a smile on her face to see him out and about. She'll don her best Reporter Voice™:]

Scoop of the century: the elusive doctor escapes his office!

[It's no surprise then that everything she says sounds like a headline. That's the joke, though (she's only kidding).]

...They're for Valentines' Day, Jude! Have you heard?

[It seems like Larry keeps running into the right people at the right time lately! He's been scouring the marketplace and game corner for potential gifts for his date in the coming days...and a bag of candy hearts sounds like a good gift to him! Or at least, an additional gift to go alongside a bigger gift.

He comes to a halt beside Leia's table and offers her a wave.]

Hey! Y'know, I've actually got a date coming up...d'you think she'd be into these?

[Truthfully, he tends to go for chocolates.]

[At the greeting, Leia turns her head and returns Larry's enthusiasm with a wave. It's hard to answer his question, of course. She doesn't know who his date is!

But that's okay, because he probably doesn't either.]

Hey! Did you sign up with Mabel, too?

[It's not an insult. She just kind of assumes.]

It- mm. It is a very sweet candy.

[ Oh god it was so tart. Jaco's tongue was particularly sensitive to human foods and this candy sent a bristle up his spine. But he couldn't let on any of this weakness! He didn't want to disappoint. Besides, the first piece of that dialogue caught his attention more. ]

Eh? You're not from Earth? But you're human! Earthlings haven't perfected space colonization yet... Thankfully. Where is it you're from?

[It's not a wrong assumption! Larry seems a little surprised by the guess, but he's not bothered by it.]

Oh! Yeah, you figured me out!

[Man, there must be a lot of psychics around...wait, are those fliers for Mabel's sign-ups?]

A lot of people must be signing up, huh?

[He peers at the jars (much, much more of the sweet stuff) and then the filled legend, reading what words he can from the side view. He's starting to get what this whole booth is about.]

So we take a pouch, fill it with the appropriate candy, and give it away to that special person?

[Ah--

He really worried her. It's what he thinks right away at her question, as he lifts his gaze from the jars. He holds up his hands with a slightly sheepish smile, though he looks tired. He's not bandaged or anything anymore, though on one cheek there's a thin lingering graze from a bullet.]

I'm fine. I'm not hurt at all anymore, not that it was too bad to begin with or anything...

Exactly!

[She nods. Seeing him peer into the jars, she takes a single heart from the free sample bowl, unable to help herself, and pops it into her mouth like a pill.]

But I don't see any reason to limit ourselves. I think we should be able to give away as much as we want to.

[Screw the rules.]

[ She's probably gotten this reaction a lot--and this applies to both the candy, and whenever she talks about home. She laughs a bit lightly as she answers: ]

Rieze Maxia, of course.

I've heard a lot about Earth though, so it's okay! Don't be scared.

To friends and family, you mean?

[He moves onto the pile of legends and picks one up for better inspection. At a second glance, these candies can be given to just about anybody.]

Well, the meanings are vague enough to be for anyone.

[The tired smile is a familiar one. Leia lifts her hand up in return, waving a bit sheepishly as she smiles back at him. Initial reaction aside, she takes a deep breath and seems calmer when it hits her that she's really seeing him in the flesh.

He'll be okay.]

I'll bet you've been saying that to everyone.

[She teases him.]

...but I'm glad you were able to come. Will you be celebrating the big day, too?

[Leia laughs.]

It seems to be a big hit, yeah. I'm so happy for her.

[And above all, she's glad she decided to sign up, despite her initial reservation...]

I don't know that I can promise your date will like them, but it wouldn't hurt to take some anyway! Here, try one.

[Leia lightly sticks her hand into the free sample bowl and pulls out a heart or two to offer to him.]
