[For getting-to-know-you talk, this is actually interesting, if mostly because it's so . . . out there. The last thing Leon expected in his date was for her to be an ex-CEO magician working for a law firm. (Do most law firms have entertainment branches? Leon's not sure. That doesn't seem to make sense, but there's nothing about lawyering that he actually understands, anyway, so for all he knows it's a thing.)

She's not getting less cute, either; he's briefly distracted by the playing with her hair, taking a sip of his water and nodding. He ought to be looking at the menu, but whatever! The point of a date's not the food, unless it's a bad date!]

[Dotanuki turns when he hears someone say his name and is more than a little surprised to see the daimyo and former sword master, Date Masamune, standing in front of him. He stares for a second, not quite registering the peach colored badge on Date, too.

When it does hit him, he puts a hand over his eyes, sighing.

He lowers his hand and shrugs.]

[ He folded his arms, leaning back and thinking. ] Humans appear to be very similar all across the board. My ilk was made to be weapons to help them shape their futures and push their ideals. We accompany them through time and trial to create a time where we aren't necessary.

Humans continue to fight and continue to ruin each other, but they also surprise you too. They can be kind and caring and inspirational. They could destroy themselves or save themselves. It's a toss up-- or it was.

[ he looks at his sandwich, and grabs a napkin to wrap it around in. looks like he's lost his appetite for now. and his eyes meet milla's. ]

[ family... that makes sense. she'd thought about hers when her world was gone and she was left. most people would, especially someone like tadashi.

milla doesn't think she'll eat much after this either, but... she picks at the sandwich anyway, not quite expecting tadashi to turn the question back on her. maybe the more surprising thing is the fact that she's actually considering an answer. ]

I wouldn't dwell on what they tell you.

[ her words of reassurance first. she doesn't believe them, honestly, and considering those what-ifs was just asking for a headache.

she knows, she's been thinking about things that give her headaches for the past couple of months too. ]

... Though that's easier to say for me. [ milla doesn't need to dwell on what they say about her world, she already knows. the rest of what she's thought, however... it's Complicated, and she's not sure how to voice it. ] My thoughts... Were mostly whether or not I made the right choice.

[ and if the little girl she left behind was okay, but she knows that she is. ]

[Her voice certainly succeeds in getting her attention at least. Leia turns in surprise (as do some others of the crowd), catching sight of her lovely blue hair, but immediately turns back to the chef to see his reaction. Because that sounds awesome.

The chef assures Rio that he's done it before, but that he'll happily oblige for such a pretty lady.

He cracks the egg with precision, tosses it a few more times to split the shell--and then its contents land neatly in the pan in front of him with a sizzle. Meanwhile the broken remains of the shell get caught and discarded in the trash can beside him.

He's well-practiced. She looks approvingly at Rio, turning with excitement.]
