What: Blind dates galore!

Sure you have no idea who you're about to meet, but there is definitely no harm in trusting the expert skills of a 12 year old girl! [Lapis was initially, and still is, Very Unsure about this - she has never been on a date before, so she doesn't really know what to expect or what to do, and there was the worry that she would screw up massively somehow. At least she managed to get her ghost buddy to stay at the apartment, after much grumping and huffing from him. The last thing she wants to do is terrify someone.

At least this is a way to meet someone new, and that's always a good thing. Though she had arrived a bit earlier, she had spent a few minutes psyching herself up nearby the theatre, willing to herself not to be so nervous about this. She has at least made an effort to dress nicely and brought a box chocolates she made for them, so she shouldn't screw up too badly right? Right.

So once she's collected her nerves, and noticed that she's now actually late, she heads towards the front of the theater. Fidgeting with her badge almost nervously, before spotting someone with a similar badge.]

Um... Excuse me? [Luckily Lapis has mastered the art of lineface, so she doesn't look as nervous as she feels when she approaches him.] Are you here for the blind date?

[Phoenix was looking over one of the movie posters - for 'Honey, I Shrunk the Cyborg' - when he heard the voice and turned to face her. A typo may have made it unclear, but he does have a small bouquet in hand.

He greets her with a smile, eyes glancing over her badge and seeing that the color matches his.]

That's right! [He squints at her badge.] Lapis? It's nice to meet you.

[Court Record -> Present blind dating badge.]

I'm Phoenix. So... I guess this blind date is for us! [He says quickly with a nervous chuckle. She does look pretty! But she definitely seems to be younger than me.]

[Seeing the bouquet does help to reassure her worry of 'maybe I'm talking to the wrong person', even though she can tell they have matching badges. Lapis just doesn't deal well in new situations.

But at least she gives him a smile in return, peeking at the evidence badge once it's presented to her.]

... Nice to meet you too, Phoenix. And it looks like it is... [How does she date. How does this work. Then she remembers that she has something in her hands, so she'll be offering him one small box of chocolates.]

Um, here you go. I made these myself, but I think they turned out okay. [Luckily Lapis is a perfectionist, so they won't taste awful.]

Oh - those are for me? [He looks a little flustered. Chocolates... simple but effective.] You shouldn't have. But thank you, really.

[Now he looks like he's trying to think out how this exchange should go. After a moment, he tries to shuffle his hands around to try to claim the box of chocolates with one hand while trying to pass the flowers into her empty hand with the other.]

I'm sure that they're fine.

[His question gets a nod, and she smiles at his thanks, happy that he seems to like them. Okay, so first part of the date isn't going awfully. She just has to keep this up.

And luckily Lapis helps with the switch over, holding out her free hand to take the flowers. Except it doesn't really dawn on her yet who the flowers are for.]

... I hope so. I made sure to practice a lot. [Blind dates are srs business. Then she pauses, trying to think of what should happen next.]

Um... Should we go pick a movie? It looks like there's a few to pick from... [Even if all the posters and movie titles look a bit silly, and she frowns in thought as she looks at the posters. "Home Alone, Except Not Really" didn't sound like the best movie ever.]

[Practice does make perfect.]

There are a few! I was looking, but... it's hard to make a decision. [But definitely not because there's too many movies that look like winners. He gives her an inquisitive look.]

What kinds of movies do you like?

[She gives the posters another look, 'hrm'-ing to herself as she tries to decide which one doesn't look awful. Or horribly cheesy.

The question prompts her to look back over at him, and she hums quietly in thought for a second.]

... Comedy movies. [Pause.] Action movies are pretty good too, but only if they have other things besides explosions and car chases in them. What about you?

I'm not too different. Comedy's always great. A- a nice romance is fine, too. [He scratches at his head and smiles meekly as he looks through the posters.] I think I prefer movies that are good for the whole family.
