[ closed/semi-open ] coldest winter for me

Who: Kanda ([personal profile] overgrowth) & Vietnam ([personal profile] hoasen), and YOU (see toplevel in comments!)
When: IC 2/09 OOC 7/26
Where: Thistle Do Nicely and elsewhere in the city, and some bar.
What: kanda gets lost and is a menace to society.
Rating/Warning: alcohol consumption but otherwise none!

[ his own belongings currently stashed in the apartment he'd been given, seeing as none of it was particularly valuable to anyone but himself—except for mugen, which is at his hip, and his clothes, which he's wearing for lack of anything else—kanda has been stalking around the colony. there's no sign of an exit, which he should have expected based on what others told him. equally discomforting is the change in setting. the technology is something like the science department would dream up, and he feels lost.

he's still walking around like he's going somewhere to commit a well-planned murder, though. his pace only drops when he glances through a window and seems something odd.

lotus flowers. he glances around and sees more, of course, but they're a different color than the ones in this shop. but maybe his hallucinations have progressed and he's now dreaming up a setting for the flowers, as well—a shop full of other flowers and a huge bowl of water for the thick-petaled lotus blooms.

so that's where vietnam will find him: glaring at her poor lotuses like he's about to pull out his sword and cut them to pieces. he's probably scaring off customers. ]

[At least it was a harmless joke, because now he's actually working for her. Amazing!]

Thank you, Kanda! I will repay you for today!

[BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T EXPECT IT. And whoa look at him go. Just lifting those so easily. Rippling muscles and all (under his clothes).]

[It has probably backfired on her a few times and she hasn't realised it yet. Living in Cerealia...]

After I register your name into the system, it looks like it just pays you automatically. You use credits here, through digital form, not physical cash.
hoasen: (hmm?)

[personal profile] hoasen 2015-08-13 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It's quite common in this era. Have you never encountered it before?

[She's accepted it only because she's used to it. Unsure if a full credit system is effective, but what can she do.]
hoasen: (A BARGAIN WHERE?)

[personal profile] hoasen 2015-08-14 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh? What was it like for you?
hoasen: (HUH)

Ah, I see. It works the same way, in that your funds are now kept on record in a digital form instead of on paper. You can easily interchange between the two, only that paper options are not available here.

[The golem (or flappy thing, in her mind) surprises her, but she didn't get a good look before he shoved it back into its place.] Goodness, are you alright? What was that?
hoasen: (hmm?)

[personal profile] hoasen 2015-08-19 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, there is, but it is much more immediate when using a digital form. For example, writing a message, I can send it to you immediately rather than mailing it?

[She blinks because it looks like his body is squirming when it's not.]

It looks...sentient?

[She tilts her head and ponders.]

Like the CyBuddies they have here?

Oh! Little robot beings that act like real animals or pets, but they are meant to be helpful. There are some who have one who may show you. Mitsutada has a little dragon one.

[It likes to bite leather. Or anything that looks bite-worthy. Don't flash your wings at it, Kanda's golem!]

I'm...not entirely sure where they sell these real pets, actually. They're more convenient, I suppose. [And shhh, she doesn't know!]

It's quite tiny. About this small. [She puts her hands together and then spreads them out to size out a little dragon that can sit neatly on a shoulder.]

Not like one would real pets, no. The novelty is there. Grooming them is also popular. I work part-time as a CYbuddy groomer myself. Not often though.

[Kanda's seen evil dragons before. Probably.]

Your little one could be similar to one.
