[ closed/semi-open ] coldest winter for me
Who: Kanda (
overgrowth) & Vietnam (
hoasen), and YOU (see toplevel in comments!)
When: IC 2/09 OOC 7/26
Where: Thistle Do Nicely and elsewhere in the city, and some bar.
What: kanda gets lost and is a menace to society.
Rating/Warning: alcohol consumption but otherwise none!
[ his own belongings currently stashed in the apartment he'd been given, seeing as none of it was particularly valuable to anyone but himself—except for mugen, which is at his hip, and his clothes, which he's wearing for lack of anything else—kanda has been stalking around the colony. there's no sign of an exit, which he should have expected based on what others told him. equally discomforting is the change in setting. the technology is something like the science department would dream up, and he feels lost.
he's still walking around like he's going somewhere to commit a well-planned murder, though. his pace only drops when he glances through a window and seems something odd.
lotus flowers. he glances around and sees more, of course, but they're a different color than the ones in this shop. but maybe his hallucinations have progressed and he's now dreaming up a setting for the flowers, as well—a shop full of other flowers and a huge bowl of water for the thick-petaled lotus blooms.
so that's where vietnam will find him: glaring at her poor lotuses like he's about to pull out his sword and cut them to pieces. he's probably scaring off customers. ]

Instead, she sees Kanda glaring at them. This is not exactly how she thought she would see him for the first time after encountering him after his arrival in ViViD.]
Kanda, is something wrong?
no subject
...no.
[ it took him quite a while to answer with that, though. ]
no subject
Also she is suspicious thanks to awkward pause.]
Really? It is fine to say. There is no one else here.
[They all went to the other end of the shop.]
no subject
I was just looking. Is this your shop?
no subject
I see, in that case, feel free to look around? And I help manage it, yes. [She didn't dish out the money for it, as CERES designated her the job. But she did kind of boss her way up to the top (how).]

(there might be a map on the cerevice, but he doesn't trust that shit.)
finally, however, he sees a place that seems familiar despite its trappings of modernity and technology—a gym. not quite the kind he's used to, but there's space that he can use and people in training. one, in particular, draws his attention.
he hasn't had a chance to practice since going out on his last mission. curious, now, he draws closer and basically just stands there leaning against the wall watching, waiting for her to finish. ]

Not too much time has passed when a prickling sensation at her neck breaks through Korra's concentration and puts her on guard. It's a feeling she recognizes: she's being watched. Korra drops her hands to her side and turns, eyes scanning the area until they meet Kanda's.]
Did you need something?

We're all supposed to be from different worlds here, so I guess that makes sense. I was just going through some airbending forms right now to warm up.
[This time, she studies him more closely, returning his earlier curiosity.] What styles do you know?
no subject
Jigen-ryū and battōjutsu, mostly. [ or, whatever the anime equivalent is. ] And some open-handed.

open, forward dated 2/10.
what you get is kanda, dressed in the usual black-and-white bartender outfit, long hair tied in a lower ponytail, slamming a bottle of beer down in front of you nearly as soon as you sit down. ]
I don't know how to make it, so don't ask.
[ and then he's turning around again.
if you catch him in a slightly better mood (or before he gets frustrated), he just raises his eyebrows and waits for something to be said. ]
no subject
Zoro didn't mean to pick somewhere classy, he just wants to check out all the bars he can find to choose a favorite place. So far, no satisfaction. Half of them don't even carry a single variety of sake.
So when he plunks down in front of this ponytailed bartender, the remark doesn't bother him in the slightest.]
Wasn't gonna. But if you've got rum, I'll take that over beer.
i'm assuming zoro has his swords on him if that's ok! LMK IF IT ISN'T
he pours it out dexterously enough into a glass, no ice, and passes it along. only after that does he let the instinctive assessment become more conscious, looking at the man's three swords with silent interest. ]
yup he totally does
I'm allowed to carry them in here, aren't I?

Doesn't really phase him or anything. The remark, however, gets him to raise an eyebrow. ]
Got any sake? Luckily for you, it doesn't require any effort to make.
I'M ALSO BACK after plane flights huff
At least you have better taste than that shit.

like the fact that he's lost. walking purposefully in varying direction can only be inconspicuous for so long... ]
no subject
But it's only Kashuu, at least! He looks a lot more at home now that he's out of the weird doctor's lab coat thing, and stands in the middle of the sidewalk with his hands set against his hips, almost like he's been waiting for Kanda to come back this way. ...He has. He definitely has. He'll even say as much:]
Yo! I was waiting to see if you'd end up wandering over here again.
no subject
well, maybe he can get away with it. ]
What do you mean?
[ he definitely hasn't been by this street twice... right?? ]
no subject
[No, it's just making Kanda look even sadder...!! But Kashuu waves his hand in merry dismissal, pivoting briefly to his toes before stepping forward.]
If you're that lost, why don't you come with me? I can give you a mini-tour!

he's almost through, jogging in place briefly before going to a punching bag. whoever else is in the gym is duly ignored for the moment. ]
no subject
He looks like he's nearly done and when he makes a move to go to a punching bag, she abandons her treadmill (and water bottle) to come closer.]
Excuse me.
no subject
Yeah?
[ he does recognize her, at least. ]
no subject
I was watching as you were training-
[At least she's honest about it?]
-and I was wondering what some of those forms are for. I do not recognize many of them and I wished to know.
