Shopping District
[So. Things are still super weird. Everything about this colony and everything he’s learned over the last couple of days has been very strange to him, not to mention stressful.
Initially when he woke up a few days later shivering he had assumed maybe he was sick. Not that that had mattered. He burrowed further in his blankets and that was that…except that it wasn’t. Everything felt cold, even Baymax activating his internal heater did nothing for him.
So he left. He took off, taking his robot on the train with him and headed for the shopping district. Over the course of the day he’s wandering with Baymax, occasionally burying himself further and further into piles of clothing. Sorry if he startles you by being there.
On the other hand, taking Baymax anywhere is always a hassle. When Hiro’s not trying to warm up, he’s chasing after the robot, occasionally bumping into people.]
Baymax! Wait! [Baymax might not be fast, but it’s easy to get separated from him. Heads up, he’s not at all watching where he’s running. He might just run right into you…or through you. Or through a building. Well that’s not normal, is it? Who knows where he’ll end up.]
CERES Game Center
[Being nearly invisible is kinda bad. He’s almost completely faded by the time he makes his way to the CERES game center with Baymax at his side. The robot and invisible-boy are blocking the entrance to ViViD today due to the fact that Hiro’s sitting just outside of it scowling at it, moving around the system to try and figure it out without going inside. If he sees someone passing by though or even approaching to play, he’ll catch their attention, trying to grab them by the arm and phasing right through.]
Hey, I have a question for you.

I have to catch Baymax! [Damn robot and his tendency to wander after anything he finds interesting. (Never mind that he probably learned the habit from a certain boy genius.) He's still not watching his path though because suddenly there's crowd of people right in front of him--
--but he phases right through them, too. It's enough to get him to stop and there's a distressed sort of yell as he holds up his hands to his eyes to examine them. Baymax hears the yell though, thankfully, and it's enough to redirect his attention back to his patient.]
Hiro. [He waddles back just about the time Demo catches up with them. So now he's pretty transparent and he's surrounded by robots. Great. That's cool. This is fine.]
You can't wander by yourself like that! Are you crazy? [It's a lecture that Tadashi's probably given Hiro himself in his younger years, but he doesn't recognize it.] Demo, where's Tadashi? [Because Tadashi's still moving slower than usual and Hiro hasn't looked back since they stopped.]
no subject
[ Demo barks again, and runs around Hiro in circles, waiting for his creator to arrive. Soon enough, Tadashi comes to the scene, panting as if he ran a marathon. ]
Man, Hiro, did you catch— [ WOO, okay. Let him just. Breathe for a second and catch his own breath before he asks about Baymax. Though it's when he tries to calm his nerves down that he sees Baymax there too, so that answers that. ]
no subject
Or were. Could this have to do with Tadashi's death status? He doesn't really want to think about it, truth be told, and instead Baymax has taken over to scan Tadashi.]
Hello Tadashi. Your heart rate is elevated and your breathing is irregular. [That much is obvious and Hiro just rests a hand on Baymax's chest as he looks Tadashi over.]
...that wasn't a very far distance, you know. [That is to say, he's a little concerned now, too.]
no subject
[ his breathing is short and fast, and he takes in a couple of deep breaths before talking again. ] But I think I'm coming up with something, like a fever or whatever.
[ which can easily be remedied with some bed rest! so that aside-- ] You okay?
no subject
Or. Well. He's trying. His hand keeps phasing through Tadashi's and he's growing more frustrated by the minute as he keeps trying.]
We're going home. What are you even doing out here if you're sick? [He tries one more time to grab Tadashi's wrist before he growls in frustration, turning to start stomping toward Tadashi's apartment. He's not entirely surprised Tadashi's admitting it (seeing how he has an easier time than Hiro does when it comes to those things), but it's not any less worrying.]
no subject
Is something wrong with your code?
[ though, of course, he's following hiro as fast as he can, and ends up by his side a couple seconds later. ]
no subject
[Probably.] Why are you sick? [There's probably not a "why", but he doesn't really think it makes a difference how it's phrased when it's obviously there.]
no subject
[ may as well ask that question, since tadashi's been feeling cold for a while now!! ]
I think it might be why I'm feeling sick. Cold, or even the flu.
[ well, that's the only theory he's come up with, so far. but he'll likely come up with more things later on, like if he starts to fade away just like his brother has. ]
no subject
You could've just told me you were sick, knucklehead. [The tone's quiet, trying to brush off the fact he's a little more than concerned.] Did you have Demo scan you already?
no subject
I'm fine. I just need some rest. Demo's scanned me already and said that I've just been tired. Nothing out of the ordinary.
[ OR SO THEY THINK!! ]
no subject
Whatever. Let's just go home...I'm going to look at your thermostat when we get back though. Dumb thing must be broken if we're both feeling it. [Because clearly it's nothing else. That's the only thing that makes sense.] I think there's something wrong with your pipes, too. I can't get hot water to come out of any of the faucets.
[He's not a plumber by any means, but he can probably figure stuff out. Probably. Or wreck it. Sorry about your apartment, Tadashi. And sorry your little bro keeps invading your personal space.]
no subject
[ well, he doesn't think so, but hiro checking it out? may as well, if it'll placate him. ]
RIght, sure. Let's try heating some water from a kettle and see, too. I think something might be happening here.
[ ... maybe this could be a glitch again. ]
no subject
It's pretty obvious something's happening here, dude. But what kind of something are you thinking?
no subject
Did I tell you about the glitches? Or did anybody tell you about the glitches?
Some bad stuff happens here every now and then, this could just be the beginning of it. [ and this is why he never wanted hiro to be around... that'd just cause a lot of trouble for him. and the idea of hiro dying or even getting gravely injured-- tadashi doesn't know yet what he'll do if that ever happens, but he knows it will be the worst experience of his life. ]
no subject
And he doesn't let the worried look cross his features, but it's at the back of his mind.]
You sound way too calm about this "bad stuff" that happens. [Calm isn't the right word, but he's not sure what is.] What kind of glitches, Tadashi?
no subject
[ when stuff is actually going down, he definitely will, though. ]
Just - man, there was the killer Santa who attacked everyone with a chainsaw if your apartment didn't have milk and cookies. And just recently, CERES said they were doing some spring cleaning, but all the electronics went haywire, and people started dreaming crazy stuff like a lady getting strangled.
It's not the normal kind of glitches you might think. They're. . . terrifying stuff.
no subject
[It explains some things about Baymax, at least. Maybe that's why he's just wandering off on his own, but does that count? Does Baymax count as an electronic in a place like this? He's not quite sure.]
They're basically doing a virus scan on us but it's screwing us up. [This whole thing was a fun analogy for a while. Now it's a lot harder not to take it seriously.] Wouldn't that kinda be more reason for people to be more on guard with this stuff?
no subject
[ a pause. ]
Whatever that means.
[ though in tadashi's case, that means a lot to him. he's on guard, but he still wants to enjoy his stay here. there's no way he'll be able to go back to his home in san fransokyo, so for him, this is his home now. ]
no subject
I get it. I really do, but...kinda interested in figuring out how to stop all of these things so that we can get back to our normal lives. I can't be the only one. I still have a couple of things I want to ask Mosley.
no subject
But with what's happened here so far, think we can build something some time? You know, to rescue people?
[ with the two of them working on something, at least it'll be an ingenious idea. ]
Because I'm sure more awful things are bound to happen in the future.
no subject
I think we're definitely gonna need it though. That's the part I don't like. [It's a shift in him, possibly something Tadashi hasn't seen before as the determination to keep people safe surfaces a bit.] People shouldn't have to be rescued here. CERES shouldn't be putting everybody through these things...but it'll be fine. We'll make something really sweet to keep people safe.
no subject
You know, I think there's something you haven't exactly discussed with me yet. [ a pause, and he smiles, hoping to lighten the mood. ] That superhero business.
[ if he knows what hiro's capable of, maybe he can figure out how to fix things, and what to do with his own equipment. ]
no subject
What exactly do you want to know about it?
no subject
You tell me. What exactly do you do, and what kind of... I dunno - tech did you make for it?
no subject
And you've seen some of the tech I've made. My armor and Baymax's armor that we brought home? I made those. I made armor for the whole team...[He laughs suddenly.] Fred's even got a super-suit that lets him jump really high and be the fire-breathing lizard he's always wanted to be. GoGo's got electromagnetic discs on her wrists and ankles for speed and to throw...Honey can create her chemical balls inside a purse I built for her and Wasabi has gloves that can produce his lasers he's been working on. I created everything to work with all of their strengths.
[But why bother explaining what his and Baymax's armor does? That can wait.]
