a: tech & auto shop (semi-open)
[ he's been feeling really tired and sickly lately, but thankfully, a bunch of aspirins and orange juice, as well as some tea has been keeping him going. a few days after things get back to normal, he sends a message to some people who expressed interest in the app he came up with, saying that they can meet up now if they're available. if he hasn't sent the address yet, then he'll tell them to come to the tech and auto shop, and even attaches a map with it. what a nice guy this tadashi hamada is.
with him in his workshop is a miniature st. bernard cybuddy. when the doors slide open upon somebody arriving, it's the first thing that will welcome the person. at least the dog just talks, and doesn't bite! ]
Hello, hello! Welcome to Tadashi's workshop!
[ the dog sniffs at the shoes of tadashi's visitor as the roboticist himself gets up from his seat, approaching the door. ]
Hey. Good to see you, [ and he offers a hand to shake if he hasn't met the person yet before gesturing to a wheelie chair nearby. ] Have a seat.
[ though if this isn't the first time he's met this person, he'll just gesture to the seat right away, telling them to take a seat while he gets his laptop. ]
b: shopping district (late morning)
Demo, I really don't have time for this right now, [ tadashi says, looking pretty exhausted. he's carrying some bags with him - groceries - which he wants to put down on a counter soon since it's getting heavier by the second. not to mention, he probably should get some rest. working while being sick isn't fun at all, so getting home is a priority.
too bad his cybuddy doesn't seem to agree with him. the dog is barking at an alleyway that probably connects to a deadend. tadashi said he has no time for it, so he isn't even checking it out. ]
But Tadashi, there's something out there! [ the dog responds loudly before barking at the alleyway again. fun… and a talking dog might be weird for some people passing by. they probably haven't met the demo the dog before, or heard of tadashi's incoming line of cybuddies yet. ]
c: residential district + wildcard (post-baseball plot)
[ the day after his excursion with demo, he decides not to bring the dog out shopping again any time soon. having to put him in sleep mode wasn't fun, since he's supposed to have configured demo to work properly. he didn't see any signs of any glitching either, when he checked on his cybuddy's software after getting home… (cybuddies are officially troublesome.)
now, he's on his way to work again, though he's running a bit late. it's just a few hours into the afternoon since he woke up at lunchtime not feeling rejuvenated at all. his limbs are also sore from all the baseball he played the day before. he probably looks sick to someone who can sees him and the cybuddy walking around, so feel free to tell him to go back home and get some rest.
during the evening, he can be found walking back to his apartment looking like he needs a lot of sleep, too. he's sent his cybuddy to go home ahead of him, so he's just alone. though when he receives a text, he takes a seat on a nearby bench by one of the apartments before answering… and ultimately passing out.
feel free to draw on his face, or be a good person and wake him up. ]

[But oh yes. That question.] Hmm... aside from everything? I'm still trying to figure out this city. What's beyond it? Is there anywhere? There has to be some place that the people who created this colony are from originally, right?
no subject
There are definitely other planets out there, and this colony isn't the only place here in Tellus. I don't know what else is out there beyond the colony, though, as we're pretty much trapped here.
[ a pause, before he continues again. ]
The colony's in some kind of invisible dome, making sure that people don't fly too high - if they can - or something. Even worse - to make sure that nobody leaves.
no subject
[Quatre asks this like it's a really normal question. Being from a space colony, it is to him. He doesn't exactly love the idea of being trapped after all, and finding out what is beyond this dome would be a good start.]
So we're definitely in a cage then. Even if it's a roomy one.
no subject
[ he says this with a lot of disdain, too. ]
no subject
[Seriously. CERES. He has had enough sketchy pseudo-governmental or dubiously-moraled corporate organizations in his time, thank you. Oz was enough. White Fang was enough. The Barton foundation was enough.]
Sorry. I think I started my questions off on a fairly serious note.

I've been here for about two months, by the way. Expect that you'll be here for a long stay, and not just for a few weeks. I've heard some who have been here for half a year now.
no subject
[A pause and he shakes his head.] Like 'm sure everyone else is.
no subject
But I don't; and I wouldn't trust 'em either if I were you.
no subject
There's something that feels wrong about it.
[And Quatre Winner trusts his feelings, if nothing else. Mostly it leads him well enough.]
no subject
How are you holding up, though? Aside from the whole... disbelief thing? I know it's a lot to think about.
[ he never really thought that his world was destroyed, thinking this was purgatory immediately... but he knows what other's experiences have been like. ]
no subject
[A faint sigh at that. And why he is here of all people. It's worrisome in its way. Whoever runs this place made it clear they know he's a gundam pilot, and he doesn't like that train of thought.]
I'm mostly getting used to it. The technology isn't too different from what there is back home in a lot of ways, at least. A little more advanced... all the virtual reality.
no subject
You know, time moves differently here. My brother - he's from my future.
[ things are still a bit confusing in his head, but he may as well share with quatre what information he knows. ]
And considering we're just codes, we aren't really here, you know? These aren't our real bodies. [ another pause, this time, a bit more unsure. ] I think the real us are still back in our worlds.
It's... a bit confusing, but that's my theory. [ he bashfully scratches the back of his head after saying all this, but quatre saying the technology from his home isn't too different from here is slightly reassuring. he should understand much of what tadashi's said. or so he hopes. ]
no subject
[Yeah. He's the only one from his particular timeline that he's aware of, so at least it doesn't become as personal and confusing a problem for him as it does for the Hamada brothers.]
Mm. It's a theory. We could be nothing but copies, duplicates somehow. But, even if that's so, I feel more or less real. [So he'll certainly act like he is, like himself.] It does bring up the question of what they want with us, though.
no subject
[ repeating it again for emphasis. . . because, you know. it's just really difficult. ]
But I'm sure if you asked the network, you'll find people willing to tell you what they know.
no subject
Do you think they monitor the network? CERES, I mean.
[Quatre's convinced they must.]
no subject
okay, maybe he doesn't fully know it, but it's part of his theories. ]
There's no escaping these guys.
no subject
[A frown as he adds,] They do their homework about us too, about who we are and what we've done before we wound up here.
[Brought or reconstructed or copied, or whatever it is. He got a tongue in cheek joke about gundams as his welcome from CERES, and that's got a bit of paranoia piqued in him.]
no subject
[ yeah... everything. . . tadashi frowns, thinking about his own death, and how CERES knows about it. it's a pretty annoying fact. ]
There's some speculation that it's not just the communicators. I'm sure our homes aren't bugged, but there's eyes watching everywhere.
no subject
[Well. Yes. Big brother and all that sort of thing. Quatre frowns.] You know our homes aren't?
[How is that? Did he sweep for listening devices?]
no subject
[ and it's definitely bad news. tadashi frowns just as well, averting quatre's gaze. ]
no subject
[Coded into them? Yeah, okay. That sounds plausible as much as anything else.] It'd be the most effective I suppose. You can't really escape from yourself.
no subject
Quatre, right? I'll be sure to ask others what they think of this. We might be onto something.
