[ It was hard enough, waiting for the water level to go down enough so that Mary could return to where her apartment was (had been) without risk of drowning. Seto's hoodie, the jacket Hiro had given her... they were the only things she'd been able to find at the time, but now she can search for anything remaining from their apartment.

So feel free to come across a tiny teenager over the afore-mentioned days, getting drizzled on and trying to pry up pieces of the smaller rubble - and HNNNNNGHing at the bigger pieces of debris that she can't budge at all - as she hunts about. The stuffed animal she'd received from Lily is gone, the headband from Kaoru and Shiho has been twisted and bent beyond repair when she miraculously finds that... the dried flowers, from the bouquet Elza had given her... no sign of them. All of her tea...

Mary almost wants to cry, but not yet. She just keeps looking.

And don't be alarmed if she seems worn-out when you see her. It's not some weird elemental effect, she's just terrible at stamina. ]

[Sayo pauses and looks over at her. Right, names. They're important.]

I'm Sayo Samonji. [If it's not at school, she might have seen Sayo around in the streets (while shopping?) or the arcade. He looks at her, wondering if she would introduce herself.]

I'm Mary. [ See, there, she'll introduce herself. She hadn't gone near the school if she could help it, much too nervous about ever being a student there, and too comfortable with her lessons with Sousei to want to change that. But maybe on the streets... ]

[Sayo's quiet for a moment. Even now, being thanked by people outside of the army is still... odd to him.]

... It's no problem. I just want to do something.

But it's still helping. I didn't think I'd get that...

People aren't always nice.

[And sometimes, thefts and murder get involved.]

And they probably do. But... there are still some who might be nice enough to help.

["Nice enough". They won't immediately remove his distrust in them, but it's enough for Sayo to try and give them a chance.]

[Imagine the water damage to the poor pages. Sayo's moving the debris away, shifting them to the side and sometimes, throwing a piece away (and no, not in Mary's direction, he's not that rude). Let's see what's the first item they can find here...

[ There's a book! Apparently supposed to be crimson, but now it's more like... muddy rust. ]
