a.) i want to play a game (text)

[After the heavy damage and loss, Leia's practically made it a routine to help out where she can: the school and the apartments especially. She knows how important the Residential District is, though she'd be lying if she didn't spend her fair share of time at the Game Center, too.

On the seventh, it's no different, though she finds a slightly different way to help than the usual.]

hey!! （‐＾▽＾‐） wow, everyone's been working so hard lately... look how far we've come! don't forget to rest. if u need a break, stop by the gardens this afternoon for a surprise!

it's also my birthday, if youre into that sort of thing.. but you'll have to find me first (○ゝω・○)ﾉﾟ+.☆ see you there!

b.) it's a trap! (action)

[For those intrigued enough to come, or even just passing by, they'll find that the gardens aren't quite as pretty as they were before. Nevertheless, the amount of collaborative work so far is obvious. New flowers are budding, pathways repaired, and it's all good enough for Leia. She doesn't need anything elaborate like Natalia's party was; this will do.

A long picnic table is set up, and on top of it is food. Three large pizzas with various toppings, all kinds of flavored chips and dips to go with them, and at the center of it all, a mysterious cake that doesn't actually say anything about her birthday. Predictably it's chocolate, with your standard frosting, decorative flowers, and only two words on its face: "Almost There." Next to the cake is a large knife for cutting it, as well as paper plates, plastic utensils, and a small note propped up like a name tag.]

[. . . but where is she? Feel free to set off to find her, or simply mingle among yourselves and enjoy the free eats.]

c.) where's waldo? (action)

[Deeper into the garden (but not too deep), it won't actually take too long to find Leia; it might just take a little effort. If your character is the type to look high, they might spot her in a tree (don't be surprised if she falls out of it); or for others who want to stick to the ground, they might notice a fast-moving shadow move behind a tree, or a rustling of leaves behind one, if it's particularly big.

If she knows you, she might just might pop up in front of you to yell "BOO," just for kicks. So much for the chase.

Be creative! Or let me make shit up as I go. Your choice. Either way, any characters taking this option will receive a little something for their troubles.]

d.) walking on the wild side (any)

[Anything goes! I'm very flexible and open. You can catch Leia as she's setting up the table(s), or assume she returns to the table(s) after most of the food is gone, etc. if either of those options appeal more to you.]

(( ooc: just a note that leia probably won't be able to reply to option b! it's mostly for mingling purposes if you want it. ♥ ))

Hey, happy birthday!

[She might've only talked to Leia once before, but she'd liked her. Besides, birthdays are a good reason to celebrate!]

Uh, wait--what do you mean we have to find you? You already said you're in the garden.

Korra!

[SHE MISSED YOU... but she laughs a little. The idea is silly, but she regrets nothing.]

Have you been to the garden before?

[It's pretty deep . . .]

Yeah, I take there Naga there all the time. She gets antsy if she's stuck in the apartment for too long.

[She seems to realize what Leia's getting at a second later.]

Oh, you want us to go looking for you in the garden? Like a game?

[Got it in one.]

Yeah! . . . Something like that.

[She laughs a bit sheepishly. When she puts it that way--]

Maybe the idea was better in my head. But you can still come if you want... there's food and cake.

No way! I'll play along--it sounds like fun. [Korra rushes to reassure her, a grin in her voice.]

So how does this go? Is there some place in the garden I'm supposed to start?

[That's a good question, though the answer seems almost deceptively easy.]

The... entrance?

[There's a grin in her voice in return.]

I'm winging it, so I don't really have a specific place in mind. There's that big fountain we just finished putting back together through--you could start there!

Start at the big fountain, got it! [Now that a few things have been cleared up, Korra seems to be getting into the spirit of things.] Try not to get too comfortable, 'cause I should be able to find you pretty soon.

[And off she goes! True to form, she finds the table piled high with food and cake easily, but where is the birthday girl? Korra props her hand on her hips and squints at her surroundings suspiciously. She has to be close, right?]

[Certainly not too far! She ends the conversation with a "We'll see," and while she waits for Korra, she continues surveying the nearby area. If she's being watched, she doesn't notice, and the newly-built fountain seems to hide her footsteps easily. It can also hide her, from the right angles; so she's comfortable as she starts walking away from it opposite Korra's direction.

Ah yes, there are still plenty of places that need new plants, and clean up . . .]

[When it's clear Leia's not going to show herself, Korra goes snooping around for her. Where could the birthday girl be?

It takes her a few minutes of searching before she finally finds her. Feeling playful, Korra sneaks up on her and taps her shoulder when she's right behind her.]

So this is where you went.

[Leia jumps! Her pen, with which she'd been writing in her notebook, drops onto the dirt ground, though she doesn't seem too terribly concerned about it. She turns to meet Korra and quickly laughs, relaxing her guard again.]

Oh, hey! That didn't take long.

[She didn't really think it would, but still.]

[Here's a hug for you! Korra even makes sure she's not squeezing Leia too tight.]

Told you it wouldn't. Happy birthday, Birthday girl. [Korra releases her, though she's got a mock frown on her face now.] You should've said something earlier, I could've picked out a present for you.

[She returns the hug easily, laughing.]

Thanks. It's okay though, really! I wasn't trying to make a big deal out of it.

...I wanted today to be for everybody. We've been working so hard, and there's still so much more to do.

That's really nice of you, Leia. [Every time they talk, Korra feels like she gains just a little bit more respect for her.

She begins to steer Leia back toward the table of food.]

But it's still your birthday. Have you even eaten any of the food you left out for people?

[Leia doesn't really realize this and simply goes with it, following alongside her. She has to shake her head, though.]

I taste-tested some, at least. I couldn't resist, but mostly I was in a hurry. I wanted everything to be done before it got too late.

[She pauses.]

Let's have some together now and you can tell me how you like it.

Sounds like a plan to me. [Korra shoots her a grin.] And then when we're done eating, I can help you clean up some more. It's better with a friend, right?

[Now that they're back at the table, Korra wastes no time in cutting a slice of cake for Leia and then one for herself.]

[Admittedly, she didn't think about the clean-up. If she can handle all the work that comes with reconstructing the colony after the flood, though, she's pretty sure she can handle a few paper plates, cups, and stray food here or there.]

Infinitely better. I really appreciate it.

[Once they're settled at the tables and cake is cut, she takes the offered slice without thinking, marveling at the frosting.]

I figured chocolate would be the most universal choice.
