a.) i want to play a game (text)
- [After the heavy damage and loss, Leia's practically made it a routine to help out where she can: the school and the apartments especially. She knows how important the Residential District is, though she'd be lying if she didn't spend her fair share of time at the Game Center, too.
On the seventh, it's no different, though she finds a slightly different way to help than the usual.]
hey!! (‐^▽^‐) wow, everyone's been working so hard lately... look how far we've come! don't forget to rest. if u need a break, stop by the gardens this afternoon for a surprise!
it's also my birthday, if youre into that sort of thing.. but you'll have to find me first (○ゝω・○)ノ゚+.☆ see you there!
- leia ☆
b.) it's a trap! (action)
- [For those intrigued enough to come, or even just passing by, they'll find that the gardens aren't quite as pretty as they were before. Nevertheless, the amount of collaborative work so far is obvious. New flowers are budding, pathways repaired, and it's all good enough for Leia. She doesn't need anything elaborate like Natalia's party was; this will do.
A long picnic table is set up, and on top of it is food. Three large pizzas with various toppings, all kinds of flavored chips and dips to go with them, and at the center of it all, a mysterious cake that doesn't actually say anything about her birthday. Predictably it's chocolate, with your standard frosting, decorative flowers, and only two words on its face: "Almost There." Next to the cake is a large knife for cutting it, as well as paper plates, plastic utensils, and a small note propped up like a name tag.]
[. . . but where is she? Feel free to set off to find her, or simply mingle among yourselves and enjoy the free eats.]
c.) where's waldo? (action)
- [Deeper into the garden (but not too deep), it won't actually take too long to find Leia; it might just take a little effort. If your character is the type to look high, they might spot her in a tree (don't be surprised if she falls out of it); or for others who want to stick to the ground, they might notice a fast-moving shadow move behind a tree, or a rustling of leaves behind one, if it's particularly big.
If she knows you, she might just might pop up in front of you to yell "BOO," just for kicks. So much for the chase.
Be creative! Or let me make shit up as I go. Your choice. Either way, any characters taking this option will receive a little something for their troubles.]
d.) walking on the wild side (any)
- [Anything goes! I'm very flexible and open. You can catch Leia as she's setting up the table(s), or assume she returns to the table(s) after most of the food is gone, etc. if either of those options appeal more to you.]

the smile on his face widens at the fact the gift was a success. note to self, leia likes sweets and they make a suitable present. next time, however, he'll do better than store bought.]
I'm glad you like them. Normally, I would have made them myself, but lacked the time given the circumstances.
no subject
Don't worry about it. There's been a lot going on lately . . . [some stuff she doesn't even know all about.] That's part of the reason I set this up. I'm sure you saw the tables on the way in.
[right?]
no subject
I did. Had you set that all up yourself?
[an impressive feat, if so.]
no subject
[for the pizza to cook, for the cake to be done.]
You better have some!
no subject
[chances are if it wasn't her birthday and if leaving without at least trying something wasn't rude then flynn would have declined. thankfully, it is her birthday and flynn isn't rude.
and maybe he also skipped out on eating today so some food can't hurt. as if on cue, his stomach growls. loudly. he chuckles.]
It looks as though I came at the right time, too.
no subject
You'll give me away.
[then, of course, she wastes no time. for now, maybe hiding isn't so important, so she'll lead their way back to the entrance. she's curious to see what's going on, anyway, if anything.]
Come on.
no subject
[the tone in flynn's voice is purely a playful one. openly teasing people happens rarely (unless the person is a certain idiot best friend), but he's starting to feel comfortable enough around leia to permit for it. no argument comes from his end at the second part, even giving a small nod before starting to walk.]
no subject
I tried to get a bit of everything, but I didn't know how many people would actually show up, so it was kind of hard.
[she has all the staples though, like pizza and chips, various dips, candy, drinks.]
What kind of food do you like, anyway?
no subject
I'll eat most everything, though I do have to admit to being fond of anything with meat.
[a broad reply, but a true one. all meats are great and he could eat them for every meal were that not unhealthy (...as if his diet is healthy to begin with). flynn opts to elaborate as to the reasoning for it, a teeny hint nostalgia coming across in his voice.]
I didn't get to eat meats frequently as a child so it always feels like a treat whenever I do.
no subject
[she likes meat, too! her sweet tooth is something to be contended with, though. she nods, understanding, and looks a teeny bit nostalgic herself as she recalls her own childhood.]
I was sick a lot, so I didn't always get to eat what I wanted to either.
You should try the pizza. There's one specifically for meat lovers!
no subject
sick? there's a fleeting look of concern, but the past tense makes it vanish quickly enough. leia certainly seems healthy enough now. flynn reaches out for a plate.]
That does sound good.
[it isn't too hard to spot said pizza with all its meaty goodness. some maneuvering goes into picking up and piling some slices onto his plate thanks to broken arm but it gets done. he wastes no time in giving the food a taste. mmm not bad, not bad at all.]
It's not bad, but would there happen to be any condiments anywhere?
[the flavor is just a little bit too dull for his tastes and some pepper or mustard or something could give it a bit more kick.]
no subject
[immediately, she starts to look around. the condiments certainly got shuffled around a bit, but she's got this. she grabs a small container of Parmesan cheese and packets of crushed pepper.]
Try these?
I should have grabbed some of the sauces, but I forgot . . .
no subject
[thus, with a grateful smile, flynn takes the cheese and sprinkles a little. then one pepper packet... two packet... three... four...]
How old are you today, if you don't mind my asking?
[...ten ...eleven ...twelve. it looks to be more pepper than pizza at this point.]
no subject
leia can't help but stare, but finally shakes her head when the question registers, as if snapping herself out of it.]
Oh! I'm . . . uh, 17. [she thinks.] Our calendar in Rieze Maxia a little different though, so it's kind of weird.
[but that's her story and she's sticking to it.]
no subject
As is ours back in Terca Lumireis.
[because it is different, too, and that's that. thanks vesperia for the lack of calendar.]
Does your world differ greatly from this one?
no subject
(. . . it's still a lot.)]
I think so . . . but maybe not that different.
It reminds me more of Elympios than Rieze Maxia. The bright lights, all the flashy technology . . .
It makes me wonder if spirits have a place here at all, but my artes still work, so . . . I'm sure they're hiding somewhere.
no subject
woah woah, back up there. flynn looks momentarily surprised by the last part, specifically two major keywords in it.]
Then your world has spirits and artes, as well?
[it isn't the first world with artes he's heard of, but it is the first with spirits. granted, those are a new thing back home so he's not as familiar with the concept. flynn's definitely curious, though.]
no subject
[For how important both are to the culture of her world, Leia's answer is as immediate as can be. Flynn isn't the only one whose world has artes, or she might be a bit more shocked.
It's still a pleasant surprise, though.]
I don't know where we'd be without them. Do your artes rely on spirits, too?
no subject
[since wearing armor all the time was out, flynn opted to put his on a small chain so to never be without it. he sets down the pizza on a plate before reaching under his collar and pulling it out so leia can see.]
Having them on our person is what enables most people to use artes. [aside from those like estellise, but most people aren't that lucky.] Yours rely on spirits?
no subject
[when he pulls it out, leia will of course admire it like a piece of jewelry. she has no idea what it is or how it works; though the name "blastia" does give it a delightfully violent air.
she reaches forward to touch it as she answers him.]
Yeah, that's right. We call them spirit artes for a reason. They basically do the dirty work for us when we summon them, and in exchange, we provide them with our mana. Not everyone can do it, though . . . you sorta have to be born with it.
no subject
Mana exists within my world, as well. [the next part is muttered a little, more to himself than anything.] Perhaps using the spirits' power as our own could be feasible.
[rita could probably do the math with that and if it could be somehow doable. mana in leia's world might differ from their own, but using spirits as an alternative to blastia and in a way that's more of an exchange as opposed to harming them...]
Have spirits existed long within your world?
no subject
Yeah. They've always been around us, but nobody really knew until about 500 years ago when Professor Howe figured it out. There are Great Spirits and Lesser Spirits, but mostly it's the lesser ones we talk about when it comes to artes.
[she could go on, and she probably will if he asks, though jude's probably a better man for the job . . .
finally, she lets go of it, attention returning in full.]
How do these work?
no subject
Blastia utilize the power of something called aer. Through the use of formulas, blastia absorb air and can then be used for a variety purposes, ranging from protection to increasing one's strength.
[that's about as layman an explanation as flynn can give. ...which is still pretty confusing, sorry.]
no subject
[unfortunately, despite how layman the explanation is, leia still feels like she missed something. if artes were as simple as harnessing something in the air, then why can't more people do it?
of course, maybe he means something else.]
no subject
[and insert some explanation about aer being an energy source and how blastia function with it here. pretend that game canon actually explains this stuff.]
