◤ THE GYM
[ Akane would have texted whomever offered to train her (sans Rock Lee who… probably lives at the gym) that she'll be there in a few minutes, and if they're free. Of course, if they are, they'll find Akane in a comfortable white t-shirt and pink jogging pants, running on the treadmill. Feel free to bother her and show her your worth! ]

◤ ViViD
[ feel free to start the thread with them meeting up, first! or they can just meet up in-game right away. for some options (re: otoge and raid), i'll be providing most of what happens in-game, unless of course, you'd like to contribute!! that's more than fine.

for the raid option - feel free to threadhop to your heart's content! if you're already doing a different prompt, feel free to join in, anyway. there's no thread order! let's make this messy! ]

◤ a: IDOLS
[ for some reason, you and akane end up in an idol simulator game… this was not as planned. you're both in outfits with lace and frills, or even tassels and pretentious looking military outfits! the point is, you have to dance and sing your way through this game…

remember to pose like you've never posed before at the end of the song, too! ]

Oh no… I've never had to sing like this before. . .

◤ b: RPG
[ while you and akane haven't been transformed into tiny pixelated 2d beings, it seems that you've entered a fantasy world where you get to play a certain class! akane has picked to be a mage gunner hence why she's equipped with a gun decorated with various tiny scrolls on it.

whatever class you choose to be - classic or may it be more modern class - akane looks like she's ready for battle. but first, gotta buy potions from the shop. ]

I admit, I'm not used to wearing something like this… [ but that's the least of her concerns, partner. ] Shall we go? We should check the bulletin board for missions, and buy some items from the shop.


◤ c: OTOGE????
[ somehow, you and akane wind up in front of what seems like a high school. there are npc characters everywhere, walking into the school, chatting noisily and laughing, as cherry blossom petals dance around the scenery.

suddenly, somebody bumps into both of you! a short, brown haired girl, wearing the same school uniform as you guys are. there's a black heart over her head - though what you may see may be different since her affections for you may differ from what feelings she has for akane - and she slowly gets up.

no.

think quick! what do you guys do? these options appear before your very eyes.

[ please don't. she has a gun. (not that she would use it, but you know. it's there.) ]


◤ d: FPSish
[ congratulations! you've managed to actually wind up in a vivid game that makes sense to akane! it may not make sense to you, but… what can you do. despite this being a first-person shooter type of game, you can see akane! and she can see you! the only thing that's different is you can't see yourself… but at least she can' see herself either, it's okay!

she's equipped with a rather strange looking gun and her eyes are glowing sky blue for a little while before it turns back to normal.

what are you equipped with?

whatever it is, she'll check up on you first, gun locked and loaded. ]

Are you ready? I think we'll be fighting zombies in this game.


◤ e: ~*~ RAID ~*~
[ this is it! the big boss!!! you may have probably skipped all the other levels for some odd reason (thanks for being glitchy, vivid!) and now you're at the final boss. but thank god you have other party members with you! and some who aren't, and are playing the same game you are!

you know what your mission is: subdue the raid boss simurgh before it uses its special attack, dark explosion, on all of you! you'll all be goners and lose the stage when that happens! also, once subdued, the true final boss will appear.

akane has a pistol with her and an infinite amount of bullets. she also has a couple of items on her despite the game being glitchy, so she can at least toss a potion or two when it's needed! ]

I don't like the sound of this… I feel like my level's too low for this!

[ she's a level 66 out of 99. ]

[ the heart definitely changes colour. from yellow, it turns orange!

akane can't help but snicker at how kogami is handling all this. she never saw the guy as a romantic. but she address kana all the same. ]

I'd love to walk home with you too, Kana.

[ kana blushes really badly and looks away, both hands on her cheeks. ]

"A- Are you sure, Akane? I wouldn't want to interrupt your sibling bonding... [ but she smiles and nods, anyway. she's so red, but she decides to walk home with the two of them.

upon leaving the school, one will notice that the cherry blossom petals are still flying around, making the whole scenery really romantic. kana walks with her head looking at her feet. she can't look at akane and kogami directly in the eye. but she stops suddenly, and after mustering up some courage, she turns to look at them both, eyes filled with determination. ]

Kogami... Akane... I know we just met, but I can't shake the feeling that we're destined for each other!

Eh? [ akane is so surprised by this, but she quickly covers her mouth with both her hands. who knew this game could end so quickly... ]

> Tell Kana that you just want to be friends

[ she looks at kogami... ] I guess the choice is obvious here.

[ sudden dramatic confession music ]

Apparently you're in this equation, too.

[ Nobody told him he's going for a harem here?? Of course, if he were himself, he would pick any of the other two options. He would be insane to jump into a relationship with someone he just met, be it a student or grown woman, let alone with a co-worker... or hypothetical relative in the mix. ]

These games always oversimplify these kinds of relationships. It's how psychopaths are born, when they expect real life to play out the same way as it does for them in these games, and then they lash out at that reality when things go wrong.

[ Why is he always thinking about these dark things? Whatever, he chooses the first option. Good luck with this guy, Kana. ]

[ you decide to confess to kana, and her heart turns red. akane may as well confess, too. she says an elaborate confession, probably quoting something from a novel.

but before kana could respond, there's thunder and the skies turn dark.

kana slowly turns into a giant gorgon... ]

K- Kogami!

[ akane starts shaking, but tries to make way for the gun she placed at the back of her waist. ]

What the hell is this game?!

[ Talk about from overly simple to insanely complicated in a span of a minute. At least things are getting interesting around here (yeah... he's a fighter, not a lover).

As the gorgon completes it's transformation, Kogami taps his partner in the shoulder, indicating to run for cover behind that parked vehicle before they attempt to do anything. They're fighting the strange and the unknown, they must be extra careful. ]

[condoner]

Right!

[ the tap on the shoulder is enough for her to wake up and see what's actually going on. she follows kogami to run behind a car (it was probably mikisugi's)...

as kana the gorgon slowly transforms, a huge hp bar appears above her head and above theirs. some items are scattered around the school's walkway like healing items (aptly looking like boxes with a medical cross on it) and various kinds of bullets, and weapons like flamethrowers, knives, etc. think metal slug.

akane finally pulls out her dominator. ]

Do you have a weapon?!

[ her eyes turn sky blue for a minute as she logs into the sibyl system, but she's promptly informed by the system that the dominator is locked in paralyser mode, but other modes unique only to vivid (thanks for hacking into it, ceres!) are available depending on the bullets she picks up. ]

[abhors]

[ He reaches for where his gun would normally be, except he's coming up empty handed. ]

Unfortunately, the game took it away. [ He peeks from around the car, checking on the creature and noticing the various items that are scattered around. ] But they were kind enough to leave us with other surprises in return.

Think you can cover me?

[condoner]

I should be able to paralyse her for a while.

[ she looks at the gorgon, then at kogami and nods. ]

Go!

[abhors]

[ Good, just as he expects from Tsunemori or anyone from Division One, he knows these people and can count on them with his life. Which is why he leaps out from behind the vehicle without any hesitation, precisely on her mark.

He ends up picking a weapon at random, it turns out to be a futuristic ray gun! It's pretty flashy and feels like a Dominator, but it's not enough to kill the beast in just a few shots. There's a reason for the HP bar!

As he rolls and fires off a couple of rounds, he winds up behind a statue of the school principal. While hiding behind cover, he equips the CereVice intercom on his ear so he can communicate with Tsunemori hands-free.

......assuming she picks up. ]

[ akane's cerevice rings and she wonders who the hell could be calling at this time. she checks anyway in case it might be a work-related emergency.

'lo and behold, it's shinya kogami. ]

Status?

Target hasn't made any movements yet.


Are you familiar with Greek mythology?

[ An odd question. ]

Greek mythology? [ that definitely is an odd question, but now she feels like they're dealing with something from it. ]

A little bit, why do you ask?

[abhors]

This thing reminds me of a creature from it. There are many different interpretations of a gorgon, the most popular in the form of an ancient story about Perseus and Medusa. You heard of it, right? It's said that staring her directly in the eyes will turn one to stone.

[ He's not sure if those same rules apply to the one they're dealing with, but this is hardly the time for half-measures. ]

... Be careful.

[condoner]

[ why use the icon with the bra... ]

I've heard of it, but thankfully, her eyes are way up there close to the sky that we don't have to look at her directly.

[ unless you need to check her hp bar, which akane has overlooked in the meantime. ]

[abhors]

[ what reason did you make it for ]

Your paralyzing effect is gonna wear off any second - we're gonna have to hit it back with real fire.

[ who knows... the screencap was there????

conveniently, there's a couple of bullets near her, which she picks up. now her dominator's turned into a whole different kind of gun with some fast ammo. thank???????? ]

I'm ready when you are.

[ it's showtime ]

Ready!

[ The gorgon monster fires laser beams (why not?) out of it's eyes, destroying the statue that Kogami was using for cover. However, just before it disintegrates, Kogami rushes out in the open, zigzagging as he opens fire on the beast, too.

It's Tsunemori's chance to act while their target is focused on Kogami! ]

[condoner]

[ if she didn't have enough trust in kogami, she'd be screaming his name right about now and rushing to his side. thankfully, that isn't the case! she knows that he knows what he's doing. and she knows full well what she has to do.

she shoots at the gorgon, taking up about a quarter of her hp before she needs more ammo. she picks up something that's similar to the laser beams - which apparently are slow bullets, ah...

she hides behind a tree while recharging her dominator and as it switches ammunition automatically. ]

[abhors]

[ Meanwhile, the monster stopped firing at Kogami since Akane grabbed the aggro. However, while it has its attention set on where she's hiding, it still manages to sweep Kogami with its large tail, sending him flying against another parked car.

Sorry, he was useless this round. At least he's had worse beatings in his life! ]

[condoner]

[ she goes out of hiding to fire some lasers - WOAH! they are definitely impressive, but not as impressive as the dominator when it's in decomposer mode... seriously, nothing can beat that unless you have a gundam.

the gorgon screeches in pain and rests for a while (5 seconds) and that's ample time for akane to run to kogami— ]

Kogami!

[ GET UP YOU LOSER. ]

[abhors]

--I'm fine.

[ He looks up at the detective to reassure her, but that's quickly interrupted by the sight of the monster hurling another car towards them. With not much time to react, Kogami pushes himself and his partner out of the way, landing awkwardly on top of her as the flying car just misses them. ]

It's dangerous to leave your eyes off it. [ Speaking of eyes, Kogami's sure look sharp right now, like a hunting dog-- no, more like a wolf that's ready to tear his prey apart. not talking about u akane ]

[condoner]

[ it's true - kogami's right. it was akane's own clumsiness that brought this situation together, and she fully accepts it. she should have been sharper... ]

I let myself get distracted, [ she admits, but she slowly gets up from the ground, awkward position or not. ]

[abhors]

Don't worry about it. [ He's the one who let himself get hit, too. ] It's programmed to change priorities depending on who's doing more damage. If we split up and alternate between who's attacking at a time, it will become indecisive.

[ Once they're both up, he reloads his gun as he keeps an eye on the gorgon. ] A two-pronged attack.

[condoner]

[ she nods, eyes brimming with determination. ]

Alright. Let's go.

[ she scouts the area for a place where she can hide for when they split up. she nods back at kogami when she finds a tree that she can run to, and off she goes. ]

[abhors]

[ Meanwhile Kogami attracts the monsters attention while Akane safely runs behind cover. Eventually they both get in their respective positions and trade aggro every time the creature turns in one direction, whittling it's hp bar down until it's one or two more shots away from being defeated. ]

Gotcha...

[condoner]

[ and now that that's over and done with, the scenery changes and they're back in the game center. akane takes her helmet off and lets out a huge sigh of relief. ]

That wasn't stressful at all.
