[OPEN] Ăn Ăn Ăn
Who: Ai Thao (
emotive) & Vietnam (
hoasen) + EVERYONE NEW AND OLD. IT'S A MINGLE POST.
When: Backdated | OOC: 11/16, IC: 4/7, late at night
Where: The Sanctuary
What: Vietnam and Ai Thao decide to welcome new and old alike to the colony by making and distributing delicious foods from their country.
Rating/Warning: Food, food, and more food (and cheesy Vietnamese music?)
[The Sanctuary, being a CERES-free zone, is the first place Ai and Vietnam thought of in order to host this party. It's taken them all day and Ai was also part of the ViViD session before going to help Vietnam, so now it's quite late at night. After a long and most likely tiresome session of ViViD, anyone who's on their way back to their living quarters may notice a tantalizing aroma wafting from the Sanctuary; it's a combination of savory, meaty scents, plus... coffee? The lighting is strange too as if it's too bright, but too dim at the same time. Also this weird music is playing.
Go inside, and you'll see cooking equipment set up with Vietnam at the ready while Ai scurries about, setting up proper seating with utensils and napkins (weird, a lot of those aforementioned items are floating in the air and moving about on their own since Ai's hands are full). What's on the menu you ask? The handy sandwich board sign set up near the entrance tells you:]

[Ai is the one who pauses to greet anyone coming inside, newbies and regulars of Cerealia alike.]
Welcome! Please, help yourself! There's no charge and plenty to go around!
If you have a question about the food, you can ask me or Miss Sen!
[OOC: You can start your own top-levels and tagging around is encouraged especially since the Sanctuary as noted, is a CERES free zone, so characters can use this opportunity to relax, but also talk plot if they so wish! Or just meet new people and wonder what the hell is a grass jelly.]

Heard about that, too. The dead people come alive in this place.
[ well, that's all he knows about it, anyway. that dead people can also arrive here, but nothing more about dying and whatnot. ]
no subject
... And from what I have heard, death isn't permanent here either, though I have no intentions of trying it for myself.

[ yata looks at leon with disbelief. ]
You mean like in video games?
no subject
... It is what I've been told. Whether it is true or not I can't say. I'm not going to die just to find out for sure.
no subject
[ does yata have to educate you about the future, too, leon? ]
no subject
I suppose that would work, presuming they do come back. If not, it would be a wild goose chase and a waste of time.
[since... you know. They'd be dead.]
no subject
[ HE GOT THIS. (no he doesn't.) ]
no subject
... Do what you want.
[It's... not like he wants to know what you're going to find out or anything!!
(Except he does.)]
no subject
[ AGGRESSIVELY BEFRIENDS!!! ]
no subject
He's not even sure he knows what Yata's talking about with "phone".
On the other hand, he's really loathe to admit that he doesn't know.
Maybe the fact that he's not automatically denying it and instead hesitating intensely will make it obvious he knows nothing.]

This one, see? You can text and call people through this. There's even games on this thing!
[ so much for being serious and talking about information, right? ]
See? [ he opens the rainbow narwhal melee app. ] Go play it! But you probably can't beat my high score.
no subject
Games...?? High score???]
Do I look like the sort of person who has time to play games?
[Leon, you're 16, calm your shit.]
no subject
[ well, if leon doesn't wanna play rainbow narwhal melee, then fine! yata will keep his cerevice. ]
What if we get stuck in ViViD again?
no subject
[You can call it a virtual reality game all you want, but Leon's pretty sure in his scant experience that games are supposed to be... you know. Fun.]
If we get stuck in that place again, then I will deal with it then. I certainly am not going to go out of my way to waste my time.
no subject
You don't believe it? [ what else could it be, right? that is, yata doesn't seem to think there's no other answer but "video games" to the question of what vivid might be. ]
What do you think it is, then? Some other world?
no subject
[They've done the other worlds thing to death, he thinks. Rather...]
I believe it is...some sort of virtual reality, as they've said. But to assume that it is intended to be a game seems naive.
[It's kind of deadly, if that's it's real purpose??]
no subject
[ he pulls out his cerevice again to show the job suggestions he got. one of which is a vivid game tester. ]
See? I guess they know I'm used to dangerous things, so I can keep up with the shitty things they'll throw at me.
no subject
[Trusting, Leon means. Yata seems too trusting.
But as for Leon... he doesn't really think that they'd bother to build all of this technology for the sole sake of gaming. There's got to be something else to it. Just like back home, there's always some other purpose behind technology this advanced.]
no subject
Hey! Don't say that about me when we barely even know each other.
[ as if he knows it. ]
no subject
[So there!!]
no subject
[ so mature. ]
no subject
[That's rich coming from you, Leon......]
no subject
How old are you, anyway?
no subject
W-what? That has nothing to do with-- That is none of your business!
