[ upon kogami's suggestion, akane's taken it upon herself to find a suitable (ha ha) way of celebrating her 23rd birthday! she found the chilling cave by coincidence while patrolling the streets once and decided that she wants to try ice skating.

so after texting the guys (brother, mom, and dad), as well as a couple of friends (really, it's just a couple. she doesn't have much friends) if they're free on the 17th, she waits outside the chilling cave, hoping to meet up with her friends.

I think I'm inclined to defend the adults.

[mombastic]

I personally think it depends on the individual, and their personal experience.

But either way, it just goes to show that CERES doesn't seem to know what they're talking about.

[condoner]

[ she totally agrees, though. ]

Anyway, are you having fun? I'm guessing some of you guys have never gone ice skating before.

[mombastic]

I'm not the greatest at it, but it's fun! I haven't had much time to enjoy myself like this, either.

[ Workaholics unite. ]

It was all Kogami's idea.

[mombastic]

I somehow ended up there when I arrived. It wasn't my first choice of landing.

[ not that she ever got the names of these people. . . whoops. ]

When I arrived, we were brought to a haunted hospital.

[mombastic]

[ should've cleared that up first, oops. ]

These stages... they don't seem all that friendly to new arrivals, do they?

[ she shakes her head. ]

Not at all. But it was definitely a learning experience.

[ to say the least, anyway... she learned so much about the previous and current ceo right away when she had arrived. ]

[ Well, sitting and chatting more with her couldn't hurt. Don't think Otome didn't see that sneeze, either. ]

[ she presses something on her watch and a small holographic screen appears before akane. she flicks through some files as she asks: ]

Have you heard about the death of the former CEO, Julius Vincere?

[ and yes, she did sneeze. :( sucks when you're pure of heart. ]

[mombastic]

I... haven't, no. [ Pressing a palm to her cheek-- ] No one even mentioned it.

[ she switches off her watch (for now) and brings out her cerevice. she's shaking a little bit because of the cold, NOT BECAUSE SHE'S SICK, MOM!!! after a couple seconds of button pressing, akane shows this particular video to otome. ]

[mombastic]

[ She's about to ask if maybe they ought to take this outside, if it's too cold in here-- but then her attention's arrested by the video, and her breath is drawn in sharply. ]

O-oh.

[ That's a bit... upsetting. ]

[condoner]

[ akane waits until otome seems to be out of her daze to speak again. ]

[mombastic]

Yes... it's just never pleasant, seeing bodies. [ Not for a doctor who was invested in saving lives, anyway. ]

[condoner]

[ oh is this why you don't want to be a coroner??? is that it???????? ]

I had a difficult time when I first started working for the MWPSB, too. Seeing bodies get shot... and seeing so much blood on the ground.

But I eventually got used to it.

[mombastic]

[ You get sick of bodies when you've seen the world get almost destroyed twice!! ]

That's something I wish no one had to get used to...
