[ upon kogami's suggestion, akane's taken it upon herself to find a suitable (ha ha) way of celebrating her 23rd birthday! she found the chilling cave by coincidence while patrolling the streets once and decided that she wants to try ice skating.

so after texting the guys (brother, mom, and dad), as well as a couple of friends (really, it's just a couple. she doesn't have much friends) if they're free on the 17th, she waits outside the chilling cave, hoping to meet up with her friends.

You're such a sweet girl, though... which isn't to say that your friends aren't wonderful people [ hopefully ] but I'm sure you could make many more here too.

I guess to me, it doesn't matter so much as long as I get to do my job.

[ her friends are going to die anyway :( ]

... Well, I can certainly respect someone who takes their job seriously, but don't forget to give yourself some time for fun too. Okay?

[ then again, letting loose for akane just means getting drunk by herself. ]

There's a lot less adults here than there are teenagers, aren't there?

I've noticed that too, actually. I wonder why... or if there's a reason behind it at all.

There could be a reason, [ she pauses to take a sip of the coffee. ] but I suppose we can't find out about it yet.

CERES doesn't like to feed us any valuable information.

So I've heard... maybe they think the younger crowd will react to the situation better than the adults?

I think I'm inclined to defend the adults.

[mombastic]

I personally think it depends on the individual, and their personal experience.

But either way, it just goes to show that CERES doesn't seem to know what they're talking about.

[condoner]

That's one way of looking at things.

Anyway, are you having fun? I'm guessing some of you guys have never gone ice skating before.

I'm not the greatest at it, but it's fun! I haven't had much time to enjoy myself like this, either.

I didn't know the two of you knew each other.

... He helped me off a roof. We've been speaking together ever since.

I somehow ended up there when I arrived. It wasn't my first choice of landing.
