Who: The Ace Attorney cast + CR!
When: 4/19, afternoon and evening
Where: The function room of some restaurant in the Shopping District
What: Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth, Klavier Gavin and Ema Skye are celebrating their birthdays in one big bash with all their friends.
Rating/Warning: Nobody’s getting murdered, so just Ace Attorney ridiculousness.

[ It was by sheer coincidence that the month of April had so many birthdays from people from the same world. Which meant that the best solution was to have the largest birthday party of all birthday parties. Or so was Klavier’s thinking. He knew that some part of the population was plagued with some weird disease that caused headache and fever, so the celebration was relatively low key.

But low key for Klavier would still be considered extravagant for others. He took the liberty of renting out a large room in one of Cerealia’s many restaurants and sent an invite to everyone who he could think of was in Cerealia and encouraged them to invite their friends. The more the merrier, as he said.

Because all of the people celebrating had some connection with the law, there was thus an appropriate cake. There was some confusion with the food because instead of ramen and burgers, there were ramen burgers instead being served on trays by waiters. Plus the drinks were unusually glimmerous, to say the least (but non alcoholic, of course.)

Aside from the food, there was music and even a piano in the back in case some people wanted to play. A gift table was set up so that people could leave their gifts, but good luck trying to find it. ]

(( this is an open log so please feel free to make top levels for your characters! if your character knows any of the ace attorney people even by the slightest smidgen, chances are they were invited. or you can gatecrash and nobody would be able to tell. or klavier accidentally texted the wrong number and they got invited. ))

Scientifically speaking, Ema is awesome

[He smiles...although there's something about his smile that's restrained. Perhaps it's just the fact that he's tired, or he's concerned that Ema's here instead of resting in her apartment, or both.

Still, she's making a little progress.]

Thank you, Ema. A happy birthday to you as well. [Edgeworth bends over and produces a wrapped package; inside is a large book about the current technology and robotics of the colony, with a few very simple experiments on robotics. He thought she might be interested in dabbling a little in this part of science.]

[After unwrapping the gift, Ema looks up at Edgeworth why a very, very pleased smile. It's hard not to be happy when you know you have someone reliable looking out for you, and showing a genuine understanding for what you are interested in. That's rare enough on a good day, and when she's been worried and sick? well...]

Goodness. Mister Edgeworth. Thank you, so much. And I...well, I got you something too.

[She reaches into her own pocket and produces a smaller package that she offers up to him. Inside are a pair of lapel pins. The first is a miniature version of the cross Lana wore as Chief Prosecutor, and the second is a bit more...Ema. The head of the Blue Badger, making a little smiley face.]

[He's glad to see the present was a success. When in doubt, Ema would be delighted with anything related to science.

When Ema produces a smaller package, Edgeworth takes it gratefully, but doesn't open it yet.]

That's very thoughtful of you. You shouldn't have. [You should've just been resting.

[He had wanted to save this, along with the rest of his presents, for later. But since Ema was insisting, Edgeworth decides to painstakingly unwrap the package, taking care not to damage the wrapper.

Once the box is out of its wrapper, he opens that up and sees the pins. Wow...

Honestly Edgeworth isn't sure when he'd be wearing those lapel pins but they're quite detailed. And in any case, he smiles, fascinated and flattered.]

Did you make these, Ema?

[Smiling to herself because she'd clearly given a good gift, she has to shake her head.]

I just designed them and had them printed. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at metallurgy, so making them was a little out of the question.

[prosecutory]

I see. [He nods, picking up each pin and examining it in turn.] Well, the design was yours, so you had a definite hand in making them.

Well, I guess I did. [His obvious appreciation for them makes Ema beam, fiddling with her glasses a little.]

I'm just glad you like them. I thought about that silly trophy as a badge, but I remember how silly you thought it was. So...I just had them make these instead.

[prosecutory]

[He chuckles.]

You chose well. I do prefer these over that trophy.

[Edgeworth replaces the box lid neatly.]

Good. I'm glad.

[She rubs her red nose with a tissues and sniffles.]

And I...thank you for taking care of me too. I'm feeling mostly better today. [For a little while anyway.]

[prosecutory]

You're welcome. [Yeah, thanks for reminding him that you're sick and should not be at a party. He sighs.] You can leave early to rest, if you wish.

I will probably go home soon, yes. I just wanted to make sure everyone got their gifts. It'd be silly to miss my own party.

[prosecutory]

I suppose. I'll check on you again tomorrow, or much later today. [Worryworth.]
