no objections to parties

Who: The Ace Attorney cast + CR!
When: 4/19, afternoon and evening
Where: The function room of some restaurant in the Shopping District
What: Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth, Klavier Gavin and Ema Skye are celebrating their birthdays in one big bash with all their friends.
Rating/Warning: Nobody’s getting murdered, so just Ace Attorney ridiculousness.

[ It was by sheer coincidence that the month of April had so many birthdays from people from the same world. Which meant that the best solution was to have the largest birthday party of all birthday parties. Or so was Klavier’s thinking. He knew that some part of the population was plagued with some weird disease that caused headache and fever, so the celebration was relatively low key.

But low key for Klavier would still be considered extravagant for others. He took the liberty of renting out a large room in one of Cerealia’s many restaurants and sent an invite to everyone who he could think of was in Cerealia and encouraged them to invite their friends. The more the merrier, as he said.

Because all of the people celebrating had some connection with the law, there was thus an appropriate cake. There was some confusion with the food because instead of ramen and burgers, there were ramen burgers instead being served on trays by waiters. Plus the drinks were unusually glimmerous, to say the least (but non alcoholic, of course.)

Aside from the food, there was music and even a piano in the back in case some people wanted to play. A gift table was set up so that people could leave their gifts, but good luck trying to find it. ]

(( this is an open log so please feel free to make top levels for your characters! if your character knows any of the ace attorney people even by the slightest smidgen, chances are they were invited. or you can gatecrash and nobody would be able to tell. or klavier accidentally texted the wrong number and they got invited. ))

So you're one of Trucy's friends?

[While Apollo can sympathize with Leon about being harassed by a certain Dad, he also knows Mr. Wright wouldn't be cornering just anyone when it comes to Trucy.

Sorry, Leon, you might have escaped the Dad for now, but you're getting the Brother this time--even if he doesn't know it yet.]

Yeah, you could say that! I mean, we've only talked like a couple times, buuut we went on a blind date together and it was pretty awesome!

[He says, much like a man stepping off a pier for a nice leisurely swim, unaware of the sharks circling 20 feet underwater.]

You went on a date with Trucy? [That explains why Mr. Wright's practically harassing the guy, at least.]

Does that mean you're dating her here?

[Totally, deceptively calm.]
babermetrics: (it's always sunny in Hope's Peak)

[personal profile] babermetrics 2015-12-18 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
You mean like, I'm her boyfriend? No way! Do you start dating-dating a girl after the first date?

[In fact, he's never dated-dated a girl at all. He's not the type for commitment . . . but saying so might be stepping out of the frying pan and into the fire.]

I don't really do that anyway, know what I mean?

[Yeah he didn't realize and said it anyway. Hey, at least he's an honest dude.]

[He gives Leon an unimpressed look, brows drawing together.]

Honestly? I wouldn't have been on a date with a girl unless I was reasonably sure I wanted to date her.
babermetrics: (I can't get behind that.)

[personal profile] babermetrics 2015-12-18 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously? Why?

[He looks unimpressed right back—and also genuinely confused, his mouth twisting thoughtfully.]

I mean, that's what dates are for, right? Gettin' to know a girl, see how things go! It was a blind date anyway, man, c'mon. No one goes on a blind date thinkin' they're "reasonably sure" they wanna get serious with her.

[He eyes Leon sharply, then...relents. He has a point about it being a blind date, and Apollo isn't one to ignore sound logic. Normally. Besides, the guy already has Mr. Wright staring him down.]

Fair enough. As long as you're not messing around with her.

[...then again, who is Apollo kidding? Trucy can take care of herself. He's pretty sure anyone who pisses her off would get a glitter bomb to the face or something equally ridiculous.]

Hey, don't worry about that, I don't do that! I make sure any girl who gets involved with me knows what she's involved with!

[Well, he tries, anyway. Mistakes and mixed messages happen . . . but at least he's not trying to be a playing asshole about it.

This guy's protective—just Leon's luck—but compared to how things had gone with Trucy's Dad, this is downright sane. Leon can appreciate that. He'd be protective of some girls too. Still—]

Are you her brother or something? Man, just my luck I get set up with the girl whose dad and brother are here! Or are you another Lawyer Groupie, or what?
pollygrapher: (08)

[personal profile] pollygrapher 2015-12-29 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[That's basically all he can ask for as a friend. He raises an eyebrow at Leon's questions, though.]

I'm almost scared to ask what a Lawyer Groupie is. And, no, Trucy and I aren't related, but I work at Mr. Wright's office and she's helped me with my cases.

[Pointedly:] She has a lot of friends looking out for her, in case you didn't figure that out already.
babermetrics: (shitty trash asshole)

[personal profile] babermetrics 2015-12-31 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, is that a threat?

[But he's made his case; he's more teasing about it than defensive this time. At least, unless anyone really gets on his case again about her.]

I'm not gonna do anything to deserve it! But anyway, Lawyer Groupie's, like . . . it feels like half the people I meet here all know you guys in your world somehow, even if they ain't lawyers themselves. Like Larry!

[personal profile] pollygrapher 2016-01-08 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a warning. [There's a difference! His slight smile takes off the edge, though.] Don't worry, even if I worry about Trucy sometimes, I know she can take care of herself. The only one you need to worry about is Mr. Wright, if he's already playing the "overprotective dad" card.

[There's some amusement in his expression now.] There are a lot of people from our world here, that's true.
babermetrics: (it's great. it's crack.)

[personal profile] babermetrics 2016-01-10 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'm glad I've got people from my world here and all too, but havin' your dad around's gotta be pretty awkward.

[Almost as awkward as he feels as soon as he says that. Now's not the time to think about his own parents and what that would be like . . .

But that's a darker kind of awkward than just Trucy's Dad's weirdness, so he shoves it aside to deal with that instead.]

He totally texted me to interrogate me after we went out! Is that a lawyer thing? It must suck being a lawyer's kid. You'd never stop arguing!
pollygrapher: (52)

[personal profile] pollygrapher 2016-01-10 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
If it were anyone else, I'd most likely agree, but Mr. Wright and Trucy are pretty close. I'm sure they're happier knowing where the other is, instead of having to sort through what CERES tells us about our worlds.

[And then Apollo snorts, unable to help himself.]

Have you seen the two of them together? They're more likely to team up instead of argue.

[He's had first hand experience of this.]
babermetrics: (would you like apples or bees?)

[personal profile] babermetrics 2016-01-12 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, I've never been in the same room as both of 'em at the same time . . .

[Maybe a part of him doesn't want to confront the truth. Seeing Trucy side with her dad might break his heart.

Mostly, though, it's been pure chance. He always runs into one of them and not the other, and to his mild distress, it's usually Trucy's Dad he bumps into around the colony or outside of it. Leon cranes his neck to get a look around the room behind them; are they together right now? Doesn't look like it, but he doesn't have the best view of everyone like this. Well, whatever, the afternoon is young—so he stops worrying about that, turning his attention back to Trucy's Coworker.]

Me and her dad are in the same . . . I dunno what you'd call it, group? Whatever! We were both in the volcano together's what I mean, and she wasn't with us. He was pretty worried—I mean, not that I blame him for that! So was I!
