a; ceres gardens
[ It's only been three days since he disappeared from Cerealia, but to him it feels like it's been quite a bit longer (and he definitely believes it's been longer). He's caught a little off-guard by the sudden return, and he has far too much on his mind to really listen to the powerpoint a second time — he's focused on wanting to see if his friends are still here and thinking about what he's just gone through.
But before he can get too far into his thoughts, he's being dropped off back in Cerealia somewhere — namely, the body of water in the gardens. He's always liked to frequent this place since he's arrived here, just for its nature — it's a nice break from all the technology — and thanks to this, he knows there are some not-so-friendly creatures roaming the waters here. So once he quickly recognizes he's in the gardens, and more specifically in the water in the gardens, he hastily climbs out (at least they dropped him at the edge?), splashing about, and narrowly avoiding losing a limb in the process (and losing a bit of the tip of his cape instead). Then he rolls onto his back, sprawling out on the grass next to the water and panting.
An exasperated sigh. ] Phew! That was way too close! I could've seriously died there!
[ Aaahhh ... What a way to come back here. How welcoming. At least it's keeping his mind off things for a few moments. ]
b; outside the apartments
[ After his incident with the water, it doesn't take him long to realize there's some lingering negative energy here. The same negativity that made him ill before he disappeared. That's ... confusing. Had it really stuck around for that long? Was the colony okay? (Were his friends okay?)
It's giving him some illness even now, and it's making it difficult to walk, but he wants to get back to the apartments as soon as possible in order to check on everyone. So he trudges forward, still soaked from the water and clutching his chest in an attempt to stifle any pain and get himself to move faster.
So please excuse the soaked boy stumbling through the entrance to the apartments. ]

...I'm afraid I must ask once again to ascertain something. You are certain nothing changed in your world since you last left it? Did you hear of anyone taking your place as Shepherd? Another...you, perhaps?
[ This is something he has to make sure 100%, to gain a better grasp of this world's mechanics. He already knows that this is beyond Canopus's domain (and it's destroyed anyway), but some things might stick, while other properties seem to have been thrown out entirely. ]

Nope. Nothing like that happened. [ Shaking his head. ] I don't think even a second passed without me.
[ He was in the middle of things when he left, and those things would've been long over if time had kept flowing. But they weren't — he picked up right where they left off. So it's pretty easy for him to tell that time didn't do anything weird while he was gone. Besides ... stop. ]

[ Of course it was foolish to think that the laws governing the universe would be the same here. New universe/system, new rules.
And as if to drop the subject entirely, Saiduq squeezes Sorey's hand, still holding on to it... ]
Where do you live?
no subject
In an apartment nearby. I should probably be getting back there, actually. [ He wants to know how his friends are doing. And he turns to point in the general direction it's in with his free hand. ] It's over that way.

psyduck's psychicSaiduq's telekinesis. Sorey looks tired and having cheaty powers is very handy in times like these. ]All right. What is the address? I presume you want to return sooner than later.
[ So he'll even teleport him!! Faster than the Official Dezel Wind Rush (tm). ]

A-Aah — whoa —
[ Saiduq you could've warned him a little.
He'll compose himself, though. At least to the best of his ability. Is he going to carry him back like this or something? ]
Uh — y-yeah — it's [ and this is the part where he explains his address. Whatever that is. ]
no subject
[ WHICH IS WAY EASIER SAID THAN DONE...
Saiduq does these sorts of things; whisking people away without warning. He gives Sorey a nod of confirmation, and in the blink of an eye, they'll be right at the front door of that very apartment. Again, teleportation is a very handy thing. Too handy, even, as it might disorient whoever isn't used to it. ]
no subject
He'll gasp softly the moment the teleporting is over, before letting out a small groan as he places a hand to his forehead. Disorienting indeed. ]
Wh-What just happened?
no subject
I merely took you to where you wished to be. Should I not have done so?
[ STILL HASN'T REALLY HIT HIM THAT...NOT EVERYONE IS USED TO TELEPORTING... ]
no subject
[ You know ... teleporting suddenly. Saiduq, please.
And he gives a smile once the initial shock has worn off. ] I'm really grateful, actually.
[ Even if it was hard to deal with, it beats walking! ]
