[ So while you're walking about, enjoying or hating your day, you will encounter a dog. This dog will, as adorable corgis do, perform one of the following feats:

a.) Steal whatever you're holding for a game of Keep Away. Don't think that being tall will save you, he's got quite the spring in his hind legs.

b.) Drop whatever thing he's picked up (ball, wadded up paper, someone's high heel) and wait expectantly for you to play fetch with him.

c.) Bark. And roll over. This means love him.

d.) Trip you. It's probably unintentional.

Whatever he does, at least you'll hear two voices (familiar or not) clamoring in the distance for "Zweeeeeeeeeeeeeei!" and then Yang and Ruby will be heading in your direction at high speed.

Whatever you do, don't grab the dog and run. They may not know who you are, but they will find you. And they will kill you.

Or at least make you regret it. ]

I do have a dog back home.

[He stands up slowly. Right, that's enough petting for now. And he'll just deliberately ignore Yang's comment.]

What's his name? [Edgeworth gestures to Zwei with his free hand.]

[undaunts]

This is Zwei! And what's your dog's name?

[These are the important things.]

And when do you get to steal him from home?

[prosecutory]

His name is Pess, and I'm quite close to finally getting him back.

[And he sounds very excited about that thought. Definitely a more welcome addition to his Cereal life than some lady.]

[undaunts]

Ooooh... are you gonna ask CERES to bring him back?

[She's heard about that... but she didn't know Edgeworth was working on it.]

[flaredo]

I still can't believe they're nice enough to do that...

[ Is that kindness, though? ]

[prosecutory]

Er...not quite. I have to earn enough ViViD credits before I can see him again.

[It's the only reason why he's been spotted more often playing games there.]

...Although it's "nice" of them to give us this opportunity.

[undaunts]

It's weird, huh? It's like they reaaaaaally want us to play ViViD.

[Edgeworth does start to glance at Zwei from time to time. What an adorable dog...]

CERES? [He blinks, holding out a hand for the dog to sniff, even though it seems Zwei already likes him enough.] That...would be very unconventional compensation. [If that's what the girls meant. Excuse him as he slowly sinks back into a squatting position to pet Zwei again.]

Wouldn't it? I don't really get how it works at all, but it's definitely weird.

[Oh well, not really her problem.]

You'll let us have a doggy play date with Pess when you get him back, right?

You'd better! Zwei would be offended if you didn't.

[prosecutory]

[An amused smile tugs at his lips...and it doesn't go away quickly. It remains there because he's thinking of a dog play date. He rarely ever took Pess out on dog play dates back home; maybe he should make it a habit. Besides, Pess was a friendly enough dog and would most likely hit it off with Zwei and the girls right away.

Edgeworth shakes his head - but it's not to turn them down, because he's still grinning when he does so. It's more of a resigned shake of the head.]

I don't see why not. Pess would be glad to have company.

[undaunts]

[Cute.........]

Awwww, Mr. Edgeworth!

[And, to Yang:]

Lookit that smile, Yang!

Okay, so the next blind date should just be dog-sitting, I'm onto you.

[ Such a good smile, you need to show it off!!! ]

[prosecutory]

[And that smile disappears, replaced by an unnerved expression. He takes a step back.]

Wh-what?!

[Dog play date is okay. Blind date, not so okay.]

[undaunts]

[Casually stage-whispers:]

Yang, I think you scared him.

[flaredo]

It's okay, Mr. Edgeworth... [ SOOTHINGLY ] The dogs will still be there.

[prosecutory]

There's...no need to turn it into a blind date.

[He shakes his head. Sure, his blind date with Ai went well, but he'll pass on another.]

[undaunts]

A.... perfectly normal, visible date?
