5/09 - this is probably not a great idea

What: Upon occasion and from time to time, Yona sneaks into the Entertainment District...

[Yona has a secret, one that she guards zealously, even from Hak. Actually, especially from Hak. Sometimes, when she tells him she's going to the archery range to practice ... she doesn't. Sometimes, in the evenings, she goes instead to the Entertainment District. She leaves her CereVice behind and watches her back, making sure to take elaborate routes to avoid being followed.

Hak can never, never find out she does karaoke.

Yona's aware that she's a terrible singer (Hak, for one, never lets her forget it). In her homeworld, she rarely even bothered to try. As a spoiled princess, she never had to try; as a fugitive on the run, she was actively discouraged from it. But here in Cerealia, she is neither; she's just a regular person who keeps busy and yet occasionally has free time on her hands and sometimes wants to sing.

Discovering karaoke was like a revelation to her. She didn't have to be good at singing — almost nobody performing in karaoke night could sing! Being good at singing wasn't the point. The point was just to have fun.

She could use some fun tonight.]

[Yona's not exactly the sneakiest person in the world. She definitely looks suspicious as she makes her way through the streets, clearly on high alert. Perhaps you decide to follow her to see if she's up to no good...]

option b - i got more than whiskey in mind
[She's at the bar, trying to order a juice. Man all these drinks have funny names ... Help a girl out?]

option c - jeremiah was a bullfrog, was a good friend of mine
[The music played at this karaoke place is completely alien to Yona — but that certainly doesn't stop her from getting up on stage and singing at the top of her lungs. The results are ... interesting to say the least.]

Oh. Okay! YOU GO TALK TO HOUR FRIENDS TALK TO MY FRIENDS TALK TO MEEEEEEE [she's just going to keep singing until he changes the song]

[He finally picks out this song before taking out one of the microphones as the song begins to change. If he was going to sing, he's going to give it his all.]

Come on, let's do this. [Once the song starts, he takes one of Yona's hands into his then pulls her close as a smirk crosses his expression. His voice isn't terrible either, he might even be singing in a seductive tone.] I can show you the world... Shining, shimmering, splendid. Tell me, princess, now when did you last let your heart decide? I can open your eyes... Take you wonder by wonder... Over, sideways, and under on a magic carpet ride.

[He then twirls Yona around a little before dipping her. He's really getting into it.] A whole new world! A new fantastic point of view! No one to tell us no! Or where to go! Or say we're only dreaming!

[dawnsprincess]

[Yona stumbles as he twirls her — and squawks as he suddenly dips her.]

Waaah! Ah [Oh right it's her turn to sing] A WHOLE NEED WORLD! A DAZZLING PLACE I NEVER KNEW
BUT WHEN I'M WAY UP HERE, IT'S CRYSTAL CLEAR THAT NOW I'M IN A WHOLE NEW WORLD

[She just gets progressively out of tune ... and behind in the beat.]

[Angelo can't keep singing, instead he starts laughing his head off at Yona. It's too bad because he was really getting into it, but her ridiculousness was too much for him to keep a straight face anymore. Poor Yona.]

[Yona's just going to keep on singing, taking over his part — because she doesn't realize it's his part, for one thing — and getting SUPER INTO IT. Except —]

Every moment red letter? What does that mean?

[playboyknight]

[Angelo stops laughing and stares at Yona for a moment when she starts singing his part.]

Hmm? Oh I don't know.

[dawnsprincess]

It makes no sense. We need to find something that makes more sense.

[GET OFF THE STAGE! somebody in the audience shouts.] WE'RE HAVING A DISCUSSION HERE! [She shouts back.]

[Angelo sighs before dragging Yona off the stage. He was mostly doing this because this was his work place and he didn't need a drop in his performance at work. So he finds them a nice sofa nearby to sit on.]

Let's have our discussion here instead, all right?

[dawnsprincess]

Eh but what about the song? [The tipsy young woman still lets him drag her off the stage and to a sofa.] We need to fix the lyrics! They have to make sense!

Ooof! [She giggles as she sinks unexpectedly deep into the couch.]

[playboyknight]

We can sing again later. [Honestly part of him wants to make out with Yona here and now since she's really tipsy. Hmm, maybe he will.] Why don't we do something else instead?

[dawnsprincess]

[Making out with Yona would not be nearly as fun as Angelo thinks.]

But what about the song? We can't leave the song broken!

[playboyknight]

[He sighs before leaning in closer to her.]

The song can wait, I have a much better idea.

[dawnsprincess]

Oh? What's that?

[playboyknight]

Well if you'll allow me to take you home, then I can show you.

[dawnsprincess]

All right! [Yona suddenly gasps and claps her hands together in delight.] Oh, then you could show Hak too!

[playboyknight]

[Angelo quirks an eyebrow again, because who or what was she talking about.] Who is Hak exactly?

[dawnsprincess]

He's my bodyguard. He doesn't get out much anymore. [She frowns.] I worry about him sometimes. He needs to have more fun!

[playboyknight]

You... have a male bodyguard. [Well this could spoil his fun, however he gets another idea when she mentions about him needing fun.] Ah! I know. How about you get in touch with Hak and tell him to go out for a few hours. Maybe tell him to come here for some fun while you're at it.

[dawnsprincess]

No! [Yona shakes her head emphatically.] This is my place. Hak can't know I come here!

[He would never stop teasing her if he knew she sang karaoke!]

[playboyknight]

[Angelo actually leans back a little, sheesh woman calm down.] All right all right. I actually know a few places he can go. I just need to know if he'd be interested.

[dawnsprincess]

But why can't he do the fun thing with us?

[playboyknight]

[He might be grumbling a little.]

Fine, he can come along I guess.

All right! [Yona pulls out her device, then remembers Hak can't know about this place! so she grabs for Angelo's hand and heads out the door before calling her bodyguard.]

[ audio ] message to Hak

[dawnsprincess]

[Yona isn't drunk ... but she's clearly more giggly than she has any rational reason to be.]

Hak! I've made a new friend and we're going to have some fun! You need to come too. THAT'S AN ORDER!

[A little muffled as she turns to Angelo —] Where should he meet us?

[She accidentally cuts off the recording before it catches his answer.]

[He watches her record the message then replies to her.]

We should probably wait for your friend before we go off anywhere.
