What: Edgeworth takes his dog around, and runs into people. Adorbs ensues.
Rating/Warning: Dog. Grumpy prosecutor being a little less grumpy.

[OPTION A: RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT

Edgeworth is taking his dog out for a walk around the district. And before he can do anything, the big and very real tricolor border collie suddenly stands up on his hind legs and barks excitedly at the first person he sees (which is you, sorry). Pess may or may not brace his front paws on your thigh or any part of you he can reach, tail wagging with anticipation. It's a new friend. New friend!!! On the bright side, he's a pretty clean dog. NEW FRIEND!!!

Edgeworth doesn't care, and gasps at this public display of affection.]

Pess, no. [That firm "no" is all it takes for Pess to behave, although his tail is still wagging like crazy and he's panting and grinning as a dog would. Edgeworth sighs, shaking his head. He's quick to apologize.] I'm sorry; he enjoys meeting new people.

[Far more than his master.]

[OPTION B: SHOPPING DISTRICT

There's a cleaning robot. It's doing its business, sweeping up some debris from a nearby food stall. Suddenly, out of nowhere comes this border collie. He bounds over to the robot, starts sniffing it, and promptly raises one leg ominously over the poor thing.

What do you do, responsible citizen of Cerealia? What do you do - well, while Edgeworth hasn't caught up with his dog, anyway?]

[OPTION C: GARDENS

Pess is a pro at getting people to play with him. So while you're there, you may just find this dog walking up to you with a stick, or a ball, in his mouth. He drops this at your feet, wanting a game of fetch. If you take too long to decide what to do, he'll just sit down, tail wagging happily and staring up at you with those big pleading puppy eyes.

Edgeworth is close by. He'll be looking for his dog when Pess takes a bit too long to get back to him.]

[OPTION D: GARDENS/SHOPPING DISTRICT/RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT/POLICE DEPT.

Drop something? If you did, you might just find this dog picking it up and offering it back to you suddenly before Edgeworth can act. Yeah, I guess Edgeworth is in this prompt too. Thank his dog. And the master, maybe. THEY'RE GOOD PEOPLES...er, peoples and doge.]

[Pess prances toward Yang and Ruby, hopping up onto their legs, panting and basically begging for pets and attention MORE NEW FRIENDS!!! He is completely oblivious to the turn this conversation has taken.]

I...would prefer that he not be followed by any kind of chicks.

[ As soon as Pess stops, the ball stops right after it. Merlin obviously hears Edgeworth call out as well, though rather than actually admitting it was his fault the other's dog went into crazy overdrive he instead coughs into his hand and looks away.

It looks like he was enjoying himself. [ Not that he has any idea if the dog is a girl or boy doggy... it's just idle speech for now. ]

[Ooh yes, Pess likes all that sweet rubbing, Yang. His tail starts wagging at Mach speed, he's leaning in as if telling her to please rub his neck and his back too.]

Hmph. Of course not. [Edgeworth grins, and shakes his head. He does squat to Zwei's level to pet the smaller dog.] Although I'd be concerned if he tried to take them home.

[He and England are already dealing with a dog and a mint-colored talking bunny. That's enough for an apartment.]

I fed him before we came here, and I've trained him sufficiently to not eat anything strange.

Pess is paying no attention to the humans and is staring intently at the stick as if he could use the force to make Kaneda throw the stick again. THROW IT AGAIN...SOMEONE...ANYONE...]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth was quite concerned with these children being brought to Cerealia. At least the adult colonists were more than okay with taking care of them.]

You're in good hands, Alice. I take it you didn't know anyone when you were first brought here?

[prosecutory]

No, I haven't. [A shake of the head.] What is your friend's name? [Let's see you get out of this one, England.]

[prosecutory]

It is. [You better believe it, Stahn.] Which is why I'm glad for these quiet days, when hardly anything happens and makes this place even weirder.

[prosecutory]

Indeed.

[Edgeworth watches Pess run for the stick, pick it up in his jaws, and trot happily back where he will be rewarded by a vigorous petting from ear to tail.]

When I first arrived, I was very disappointed to know there were no real pets.

[prosecutory]

[Another cleaning robot rolls on over to clean that cleaning robot, too. They're all in a tizzy thanks to Pess, who's done with his business and doesn't really care about Jaune's prattling.

While Jaune gives up on robot genders, someone hasn't given up on looking for his dog and finally rounds a corner onto this scene. That someone is a man who gasps in horror and glares at the dog and the mess he just made, even though that mess is fast being cleaned up...sort of.]

Pess! Tsk, bad dog! [This time, Pess feels the shame, tail tucked between his legs. Oh well, no pet is perfect. Then he turns to Jaune and looks him over from head to foot before pointing to Pess. At least Jaune was clean and Edgeworth would not have to pay any laundry bills.]

Did you try and stop him?

It may take a while, though.

[But it's worth every credit, every minute spent in silly video games.]

Especially for something like that.

[That gets a chuckle out of him. At least that was something CERES did right - keeping the jungle creatures out of the colony.]

[If that ball plops back onto the ground, Pess will quickly pick it up and hold it proudly in his jaws.]

Days like this aren't so bad. Even if there's a lot I need to do back home... there are still things here I don't mind.
