Yeah, why - is this a bad time or something? I just thought I'd check up, see if any of 'em were in that place.

[hoasen]

[She quickly waves her hands.] I think it might be a good time for them to have company. What about you, did you end up in that strange dark zone?

[yourotherleft]

Yeah, but it wasn't too bad. [SO LIGHT compared to everyone else. No trauma here, not even the evasiveness of someone who doesn't want to talk about it.] I had a hard time getting back to the surface after I went back down for meat but eh. I survived, that's all that matters.

[hoasen]

[She totally gets it. Considering that she also got over most of her problems in the past, it's not something she often worries about. She worries more about the others here. Which is why she looks so relieved when Zoro got off lightly.]

Thank goodness. As long as you are fine and well, yes, that's all that matters.

Pretty much. [which eases his mind, too, he even smiles a bit] You look none the worse for wear, yourself.

[She nods, it's actually a relief. Since yes, the others did suffer, but at least they would be able to unload on those who didn't, like herself.]

I was lucky. It wasn't a pleasant experience, but I am sure the worst that happened to me was just the discovery of the altars.

Altars? [Zoro never went that deep, he was all about killing some dark water beasts so everyone could eat] What, some kind of god down there or something?

[She fell down to the deeper level to discover that, and she shrugs lightly.] Unfortunately, I have no idea. It didn't give us any answers other than it looked...sacrificial. [She wasn't sure if she should tell him about it in more detail. Sanji and Usopp did disappear, what if their items were down there?] It could be though, I mean, there are spirits here.

[fortunately for him, neither Sanji nor Usopp are "spiritual" enough to end up on an altar. Thank heaven for small favors.]

Ugh. Sacrificial altars. [he'll refrain from calling bullshit on the spirits, though, he's still of the opinion they're living creatures] Never a good sign when someone decides their god wants blood. It's weird, though, that something like that would be so far underground, under the ruins of the city.

Yes. Sacrificial, or torture chambers, we aren't quite sure. [Since she knows what CERES does when it comes to torture. Thanks to experiencing it first hand.] It could be CERES, or an entirely different group, for it to be so far down.

Whoever it is, we just need to be very careful, and prepared.

[his gaze goes quite serious at the thought of torture. He has literally not experienced anything quite so bad in this place, even having the snot beaten out of him by Vegeta (twice) wasn't 'so bad.']

Don't have to tell me twice, I'm always prepared. But some of these folks...eh. [awkward neck-scratch] I'm not the kind of guy who oughta be in charge of looking after all the weak ones, but it'll probably come to that, won't it? Those of us who can fight...

[Zoro stop fighting saiyans!!!! ]

I believe you'll be fine. [She took one of his hits, and felt the pain. For a human, he's insane.] And I think you're better at it than you think. You don't have to be gentle, just be yourself. Your strength will speak for itself, so that will be your way of looking after those who can't fight.

He blinks a bit, not expecting such an astute assessment out of the blue like that. She's not wrong. Zoro mulls it over and decides to file that away for later.]

I'll fight so they don't have to. It's fair. As long as there's going to be something to fight. [huff!] Not just business people sitting up in their office building.

[WOW!!!! It's true she'd stop fighting them already (or would she)

And see, this is how much she trusts Zoro!! He's even being humble about it, gosh.]

See, that is your way of doing it. [Nod nod!] But yes, just having that kind of strength helps. I'm not sure how much longer they would stay in their office buildings after this happened.

[as long as they're going to hang out in the hall and chat, Zoro folds his arms and leans on the wall.]

Think they had anything to do with it? Or was it just another one of those 'glitches' that means all their super-special technology is a piece of shit that keeps breaking down?

[They really need to get inside soon! But at least they're close.]

Could be either. Or even both. What if their technology is so they can hide these secrets?

I wouldn't be surprised, but if that's so, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't send us out to discover their secrets. Secrets are secret for a reason.

Unless they're just that dumb. [heh!]

That's true, especially since the times where we have discovered their secrets, it was because of glitches. So their system isn't even stable!

[Oh ho ho Zoro, she can believe that too.] They have a lot of enemies who are willing to exploit their weaknesses too.

And they're making even more right under their own noses. Hopefully this means things get interesting from here on out.

[hoasen]

One can only keep up for so long. [She stretches her hands, they're going to get a lot more work if they end up in battle.] We'll just have to be ready for whatever comes at us.

[That and--] We'll have to help them prepare too. [And she eyes the swords' apartments. They're all mighty fighters, but it seems they're vulnerable to whenever an enemy can get into their heads.]

Hm? [unaware of the torment any of them went through. Sure, they're people too, but he's only used to taking care of swords.] What do you mean?

[hoasen]

[She's not sure how much she can say either, considering that while it's history, it's also their feelings that is involved. She'll keep it as general as possible.] Let's see...history can be quite tragic, no? Whatever is in this world, colony, even CERES, they are able to use such knowledge to torment their victims. Some of them endured that this time.

[it takes him more than a minute to piece that together. History? Knowledge of history? Memories. Aha.

After a moment of thinking, Zoro glances toward the closed apartment door.]

I noticed that CERES seems to be able to go right into our memories. If they were the ones that did that, anyway - could be someone or something else.

[it's such a dry, dispassionate assessment, completely hiding his own feelings toward the memories he saw]

[She nods slowly--] Did it happen to you, Zoro?

[She knew about them being able to dig deep.] It didn't happen to me here, so I am unsure if it is CERES, I know they can if they wanted to. I've experienced something similar before. [Three days of endless mental torture, where they tried to show her deepest fears. It was punishment for trying to steal information secretly with others.]

I would be awful if more groups can go into our minds like this.
