Oh? [he can't help but be a little amused, giving Koumei another one of his famous raised eyebrows as if he's in on the joke.] And which of the courtly arts are you most well-trained in, Master Kouha? Literature, music perhaps?

[Getting that kind of rudeness flipped back on him so easily has Kouha blinking in surprise for a moment, before the irritation slips onto his face. Who does this guy think he is, questioning Kouha's princely qualifications?]

I can do both, but I'm better with one. Don't really have any of the clothes or swords to work with here, though, or I'd show you.

[He can't do it with his his normal weapon because it's too cumbersome, but given a normal sword, he's pretty good. There's a confidence in him now that he wouldn't be able to pull of if he was lying.]

I should like to see that, someday. The sword dance is always a popular entertainment at banquets. [he nods to the empty place at his side where he would usually carry Pure Havoc] Likewise, my pair of swords is downstairs, and I don't suppose anyone living here would enjoy if we made a mess of the apartment. If we were to dance with the residents here, would that not be considered a 'sword dance?'

You thinking of asking them to dance? I don't think they'd want to get swung around like a real sword dance, you know, even if it's popular.

[Alas, Cao Pi, he was sort of notorious for his weird, deadpan sort of humor.]

While Mister Doudanuki has taken it upon himself to put me through my paces after I embarrassed him at a party, I doubt there will ever come a time when he would let me hold him like a sword. On the other hand, as dance partners? I'm sure Mutsunokami, Kashuu, and Kogitsunemaru would be more than willing to oblige.

I could probably pick up Imanotsurugi, at least.

But I don't think I could swing him around properly... Dancing with somebody human-shaped is way harder than that, Mei! Zihuan, back me up!

Oh, are you not well-practiced in actual dancing, Master Kouha? I find it far easier than the sword dance, especially if your dance partner is a beautiful woman. Sadly, these apartments do lack for that.

Kashuu or Imanotsurugi might be willing to help teach...although, lord Zihuan is right. Dancing with a man is in no way the same as dancing with a woman.

[Ah, poor Kouha. Koumei had merely been attempting to make a very bad pun on swords and dancing, and hadn't intended for his meaning to be interpreted as using Imanotsurugi in a literal sword dance.

That said, at this point he wasn't going to go correct himself. All he did instead was make a show of an attempt at hiding his amused little chuckle behind his fan-- as if it afforded him any protection in this conversation.]

[Look what you've done, Koumei. Your troll ways are about to make your family look even more weird.

And small? Wow, that's rude. Kouha knows he's small, and it's sometimes a sore point, so having it pointed out like that stings. Also, it sounds super embarrassing, so he is not enthusiastic about this plan.]

You can try picking me up, but I gotta warn you, it isn't going to be pretty.

[He smiles, but it's all teeth. Don't test him, Cao Pi!!]

[Lucky for everyone, Kouha, he's not feeling touchy-feely today. Or, well, ever. Picking up shorties isn't his thing.]

I believe I'll stick to my actual blades for sword-dancing.

[It's a little hard to make his family look weirder when their older brother's retainers include a giant male gorgon-- among other oddities.]

Things are always interesting when family gets involved, [he said with an amused smirk.] And I'm sure you're familiar with how eccentric those of royal blood can be.
