[ A lot of the jobs here didn't interest her too much, but if she was going to contribute then what better way than try to soak up whatever free stuff she could get? Well, it's not as if he's familiar with the concept of war, having fought in one. Sure it's against corpses of undead people who still had their soul asking to put them to rest once more, but it was still horrifying to some of his friends who had to go through that.

...Then again it's not as if he's unfamiliar with the concept of death already, having seen a bunch of it in his life. ]

[ She's seen that look in the eyes of the men she's surrounded herself with before. Regret, pain, and loss all shoved away in the back of their minds with the same results. The distant look in their eyes as they tried to ward off that guilt. ]

Come on. [ Suddenly she's reaching for his hand with both of her hand, fingers working to intertwine within his. ] Let's go on a date and forget about all this stuff.

[ While her words had the effect of pulling him off from that distant look almost instantly, it did cause him to make him sputter a bit. ]
