☼ Cerealia's Own Soundtrack ☼
Who: Will Solace
sunbaths & You!
When: Various
Where: The local park/gardens.
What: Will has taken up his job as a performing artist in the park. He's playing his guitar to people and singing. He totally takes requests- if he knows them, anyway.
Rating/Warning: None atm.
(Will has never actually performed for anyone but his friends before. Singing at the camp was a lot different than what he was about to do but he wasn't too nervous. When he arrives at the park is the only time he gets a little bit wary. There's a lot of faces he doesn't know and for the most part, demigods really shouldn't draw too much attention to themselves. He was still adjusting to the fact that technology was now a thing that could be apart of his life without taking his life apart. This wasn't home though and that meant he could relax a bit.
The kid didn't even bother dressing up in anything fancy for performing. A pair of ripped up jeans that have absolutely seen better days, some flipflops, and a tank top he found for cheap at one of the local stores that declares SUN'S OUT, GUNS OUT with a small cartoon sun flexing his muscles. The guitar he has with him is actually from home and looks well-worn and loved with a multicolored strap. He picks a spot off in front of some flowers and sits himself down. He forgets about the whole money thing because seriously, he sucks at this, and just kind of starts playing.
He mostly plays cover songs on his acoustic guitar. Every now and then, he'll even sing in a smooth, swaying voice to give some of the songs their lyrics instead of just going purely instrumental. And of course, he'll take a break occasionally. And hey, who knows, he might even take requests!
Potential Songs Your Character Might Hear:
Can You Feel the Love Tonight?
Pompeii
Blank Space
See You Again
Photograph
Call Me Maybe
Dark Horse
Fireflies
Yesterday
Elastic Heart
Here Comes the Sun
& More!
OOC | Since Will's a book character, there's no canon for his voice but I usually go with this guy but feel free to headcanon whatever kind of singing he might do.

(Will doesn't seem to mind in the slightest. As a matter of fact, he winds up shooting Gabumon a small smile as well. It's not the first strange creature he's ever encountered and he doubts it'll be the last.
At the request, Will hums thoughtfully to himself before he slowly begins to strum his guitar, settling on Blackbird, even starting to sing again, his voice soft and sliding along with the song.)
no subject
Hey, Yamato, can you learn to play like that too?
[Yamato looks sheepish.] Well, I've only started to teach myself guitar... But I can still play my harmonica for you.
[Hence his fascination with Will; he's a much more skilled musician, and Yamato had been wondering if he could pick up a thing or two from listening. He looks at Will and adds by way of explanation--]
Gabumon really likes music.
no subject
What he says is also pretty interesting. His eyes cut away from the monster up to the boy's face.)
Yeah? Does he?
(Will grins just a little bit, his head tipped to the side.)
Do you really like music too?
(Will rests his guitar against his stomach, hands relaxed over the edge of it now in a comfortable sort of position.)
You got your harmonica on you right now?
no subject
To the last question, he nods.] Yeah. It comes with me everywhere, other worlds or not.
[Yamato pulls the harmonica from his pocket, and decides to return the favour to Will by playing him a tune. It's a slow, somber blues melody.]
no subject
He's not so sure about that.
Will goes to ask him to play him a song but to his excitement, the kid's already whipping it out. He sets his guitar flat on his lap to make it clear that Yamato is in the spotlight now and folds his arms up over it, leaning forward to enjoy the song.
It winds up making him grin a little. Will liked every blend of music there was and blues was definitely up there.)
Dude, not bad at all.
no subject
[Yamato sets his harmonica down when he finishes playing, and that seems to brighten his mood. To get a compliment from a musician as talented as this one is nothing to sniff at, especially when he's never really played around others -- besides Gabumon or Takeru, anyway.]
What's your name? I'm Yamato. My partner is called Gabumon.
no subject
If Will had known that, he would have felt a lot more honored that Yamato had played for him.)
My name's Will. It's good to meet you, Yamato. You too Gabumon.
(Gabumon. It instantly rang familiar in his head and he leaned forward a bit to get a better look at the creature. It looked a bit like the creature that had been with Takeru. And the mon.)
Is that a uh- digimon? I think was the word?
no subject
Ah, yeah, he is. Have you met Patamon before? Or Tailmon or Agumon, maybe?
[Gabumon nods a greeting.] Nice to meet you, Will!
no subject
(He pushes his hands together as if to emphasize on Patamon's size.
It was still so cool that these things could talk.)
So what are these guys? I mean, I know, digital monsters and all but they seem like companions or something?
no subject
[His expression falls, then he continues.] At least, that's what we were supposed to do. If all the worlds have been destroyed and turned into data, I guess we messed it up pretty badly.
Yamato... Don't say things like that! There's still a lot we don't know yet. [Gabumon scolds him, and Yamato falls silent, but he still looks unhappy. It's something that's been on his mind, and no amount of reassurance from Gabumon is changing that.]
no subject
(He hadn't expected such seriousness behind such cute little creatures. Though he supposes it makes sense.
But that's confusing to him, the second bit. His eyebrows furrow together and it's on the tip of his tongue to argue that the gods wouldn't let something as silly as data corrode the world. It was their domain too. They needed skies and oceans and all the things in between to rule.
His mouth shuts and he reaches his hand out to gingerly rest on Yamato's shoulder.)
I don't think that's true. I don't think that the worlds are destroyed. They can't be. Not that easily. And if they were- destroying a world? That takes the work of a lot of things.
no subject
[He just needs a little more convincing, before he can be confident like everyone else.]
...Sorry to bring the mood down. You can keep playing, if you want.
