☼ Cerealia's Own Soundtrack ☼
Who: Will Solace
sunbaths & You!
When: Various
Where: The local park/gardens.
What: Will has taken up his job as a performing artist in the park. He's playing his guitar to people and singing. He totally takes requests- if he knows them, anyway.
Rating/Warning: None atm.
(Will has never actually performed for anyone but his friends before. Singing at the camp was a lot different than what he was about to do but he wasn't too nervous. When he arrives at the park is the only time he gets a little bit wary. There's a lot of faces he doesn't know and for the most part, demigods really shouldn't draw too much attention to themselves. He was still adjusting to the fact that technology was now a thing that could be apart of his life without taking his life apart. This wasn't home though and that meant he could relax a bit.
The kid didn't even bother dressing up in anything fancy for performing. A pair of ripped up jeans that have absolutely seen better days, some flipflops, and a tank top he found for cheap at one of the local stores that declares SUN'S OUT, GUNS OUT with a small cartoon sun flexing his muscles. The guitar he has with him is actually from home and looks well-worn and loved with a multicolored strap. He picks a spot off in front of some flowers and sits himself down. He forgets about the whole money thing because seriously, he sucks at this, and just kind of starts playing.
He mostly plays cover songs on his acoustic guitar. Every now and then, he'll even sing in a smooth, swaying voice to give some of the songs their lyrics instead of just going purely instrumental. And of course, he'll take a break occasionally. And hey, who knows, he might even take requests!
Potential Songs Your Character Might Hear:
Can You Feel the Love Tonight?
Pompeii
Blank Space
See You Again
Photograph
Call Me Maybe
Dark Horse
Fireflies
Yesterday
Elastic Heart
Here Comes the Sun
& More!
OOC | Since Will's a book character, there's no canon for his voice but I usually go with this guy but feel free to headcanon whatever kind of singing he might do.

[but peter mostly looks amused as he sits down next to will on the park bench, just sorta sitting there and listening to this obviously un-pro busker (seriously, who busks without something to catch money?]
no subject
(He defends himself effortlessly before twanging the guitar idly to interrupt the song, smiling over at Peter. But he's right back at it a moment later.
He does, of course. Although he's figured out by now that he's completely forgotten about it. All in all, he doesn't seem bothered though.)
Got any requests?
no subject
Hmm, I donno. You old enough to remember Coldplay's first single? Yellow?
no subject
How old do you think I am?
(Granted he was pretty young when that song came out but the kid was an avid music lover. It doesn't take much for him to remember a tune he likes. He clears his throat and starts singing along as well, his voice soft over the strumming of the guitar.)
no subject
Old enough that you should probably be in school right now instead of being the world's free-est busker, which puts you right on the threshold of remembering the stone age of pre-Y2K.
no subject
Wow, I get a school lecture and everything. Thanks, Dad.
(He gives his guitar a little strumming, twanging the notes a bit too high for the song intentionally.)
No offense but you totally don't seem the type to preach school at people. I'm fifteen, anyways. Not that young.
no subject
Oh, you're assuming I care. I don't give a shit, man. Not like I graduated. Or that I'm old enough to be your dad.

But they're... really good.
Yamato finds a tree to stand under nearby, leaning against it and crossing his arms. He's too shy to approach the older boy directly, preferring to listen in without being intrusive.]
no subject
Without stopping, he speaks up:)
You don't have to stand all the way over there, yanno. I don't mind the company.
no subject
What's that song called?
no subject
Yesterday. It's be an old British band. It's pretty.
(He strums the song to a finish and then closes his hand around the neck of the guitar to properly silence it.)
Want me to play you anything in particular?
no subject
Play me another of their songs.
no subject
(Will doesn't seem to mind in the slightest. As a matter of fact, he winds up shooting Gabumon a small smile as well. It's not the first strange creature he's ever encountered and he doubts it'll be the last.
At the request, Will hums thoughtfully to himself before he slowly begins to strum his guitar, settling on Blackbird, even starting to sing again, his voice soft and sliding along with the song.)

Thinking that it was rude to interrupt him, he didn't say anything. Instead, he just walked closer before sitting down in front of him.]

When the song drawls to an end, Will leans over the edge of his guitar and puts his chin into a hand and grins.)
Hey there, Takeru. Long time no see. Like the song?
no subject
[He said with a giggle before finally standing up and looking at the guitar closer. Being the curious little boy that he could be, he too placed his hand on his chin before looking back at up at him.
At the same time, Patamon couldn't help but do the same.]
When did you learn how to play it?
no subject
(It also helps with who is dad is. He has a bit of an unfair advantage in the musical department.
Seeing that curious look, Will grins and holds his guitar out to the kid.)
You want to check it out? I don't mind.
(He really didn't either. It was a durable guitar.)
Oh probably when I was a bit younger than you? I've always loved music and had a natural talent for it. My mom first hooked me up with a piano then eventually a guitar and a few other instruments. You like playing instruments?
no subject
Even when Will said it was okay, he still wasn't sure but that didn't stop him from playing a few notes here and there.]
I do but I don't think I'm that great at it! Maybe you should ask my brother! He knows how to play the harmonica and does it really well!
no subject
I think I met your brother. Yamato, right? I met him a little while ago. He is really talented with the harmonica.

He's so immersed in the song that he's entirely oblivious to any possibly lurking demigods. Playing music for Will is a lot like battling is for most demigods. It soaked up his attention the way few other things could and it stopped him from fidgeting so badly.
When the song lulls to a stop, Will stops too.
It's been a while since he started playing and he could do with a drink. Standing up, Will slings his guitar over his shoulder and heads off to one of the nearby stands. He buys a water bottle and just as he's heading back to his spot, he catches sight not of Nico but a familiar three headed dog. He quirks a brow and grins a bit stupidly before sitting himself back down, not acting in the slightest like he totally just caught Nico.
He sets his guitar down on top of his thigh and mentally goes through his entire list of songs. Then he finally picks something out and begins to play and sing.)
no subject
If he's honest, it's pretty soothing listening to the music. It makes him kind of sleepy because it's relaxing.]
no subject
He's quiet, having no idea if Nico is still by that tree and his approach is slow and silent, his guitar swung around to his back. He walks around the other side towards Nico so as to not give the boy a heads up and eventually, he's standing on the other side of the tree Nico was hiding behind and leans up against it.)
Sooooo did you plan on lingering the whole show or were you gonna come down and say hi?
no subject
Will might have scared the crap out of Nico, but Cerberus catches the sent of him coming closing and lifts his head up, tail starting to wag, which alerts Nico that someone's approaching. It has to be someone familiar with the way Cerberus is reacting, so he stays where he is, noting Will is gone now.
He does still, however, startle a bit when Will pops up behind him, realizing he's been caught based on what the other demigod says. Nico fights back a blush and pointing looks down at the ground.}
I didn't want to interrupt you. [Hey, it's the truth!]
no subject
Uh huh.
(He slides his guitar more properly into his lap and crosses his arms over the top of it, leaning against it and staring at Nico.)
Do you want me to play you anything in particular?
(He was going to try and let you off scotch free.)
