[closed] Let's take a break...
Who: Ankh
notsogreedy and Eiji
powertotearer
When: IC: 7/10
Where: Their apartment
What: Life has been hectic lately for them; time to chill at home with a giant pile of popsicles
Rating/Warning: To be updated if there's anything worth mentioning
[They've had a couple days to settle in by now. The apartment isn't big--actually most people would probably call it tiny for two people--but considering the spaces they've gotten used to sharing, it's more than adequate. And for today, at least, Ankh has no intention of leaving it. Since he arrived here, he's been restless, feeling like he didn't know enough about this place to feel the slightest bit comfortable. After the pizza party yesterday, though, he has more information than he even knows what to do with... and maybe between all that and all the stuff that happened just before he and Eiji got there, everything is finally just starting to catch up with him.
The freezer has been stocked with ice pops, and the refrigerator with enough other food to last at least a few days. Neither of them have any reason to go anywhere. Ankh has managed to set up a sleeping space for himself not unlike what he had back in the attic of Cous Coussier, and for the moment, he is flopped up there doing absolutely nothing. Unless idly keeping an eye on Eiji in case he decides to feel the need to leave and go do something stupid counts.]

[Leave it to Eiji to be completely confused by that statement.]
It looks nice. And comfy. It might be nice, just to have somewhere to sit down other than the bed.
[So when he passes out after a combo, you can just shove him into the chair and push him around.]
no subject
That's not bad.
[But maybe in black or white.]
no subject
It's really going to look like a bird's nest around here, between that and your bed.
no subject
At least mine don't look like a rainbow exploded.
no subject
Well, you can put yours wherever you want. I like mine.
no subject
Tch. Fine.
[He can't deny that that chair looks like it belongs to Eiji. And with the way the one he likes has sides, if he's sitting in there, he won't have to see the blinding mess of colors.
So congratulations, they've decided on two chairs.]
...what else do we need in here?
no subject
Table? Or do you think the counter's fine?
no subject
no subject
And then, just like that, he gives his fakest smile and tries to act like everything's normal.]
That one might be nice. If we ever needed it.
no subject
He raises an eyebrow slightly at the comment. He knows that smile, Eiji. But in this case, he understands well enough not to say anything.]
Maybe.
[And with that, let's keep on browsing.]
no subject
Luckily, other tables show up to distract him.]
What about a heated one? I don't know how cold this place will get, and didn't they say something about climate problems once?
no subject
[That might not be a bad idea, actually. Though upon looking for heated tables, for some reason, the first thing that comes up is this, which looks like an absolutely terrible idea for so many reasons... even if he didn't have reasons for disliking the presence of an open flame right now. He quickly scrolls past that with a slight grimace.]
no subject
That's not going to work. We don't really need it anyway. We can always get a space heater somewhere if we get too cold.
no subject
He goes back to looking through more normal furniture, and finds something that looks like this except with a slightly larger table.]
What about that?
[He likes the higher stools and it reminds him of absolutely nothing, which is an advantage at this point.]
no subject
[It's starting to come together. Nothing that reminds him too much of home, and definitely nothing that looks like Inugami.]
That's it, isn't it? About all we need?
no subject
[It's still sparse in there but not so empty now.]
We can add more later if we think of something.
[So now he's going to go curl up in his new
nestchair.]no subject
I've got a discount at the department store from working there, so I can probably pick up a couple other things if we need them too.
no subject
[All he can think is that he's going to come home one day to find some hideously colorful rug or curtains or something. But having a discount at the department store isn't a bad thing to keep in mind, at least.
His chair is nicely comfortable, and he immediately seems at home in there. Of course, now that they're done messing with furniture, that leaves the question of what else there is to do.]
no subject
...We really don't know how to relax, do we?
no subject
[Here, there's just ominous threats in the system that he hasn't figured out what to do with. Even so, he knows he's not as on edge as he used to be. Paranoia seems to have become less his job and more Eiji's.
He's really not sure when that happened.]
no subject
[Jumpy. On edge.
He makes an effort the least loaded word.]
Busy. I don't know what to do when I don't have to do anything.
no subject
[Even after this much time, Eiji is incapable of doing much of anything just because he wants to. Meanwhile, in Ankh's case, he's just not sure what to do because spending a day just relaxing isn't something he's ever really wanted before, so he's not exactly sure how to make that happen.
One would think that with a two year gap between being the last time Eiji saw him at home and him waking up in Inugami, there would at least be something to talk about. But as far as Ankh can tell, those two years consist largely of things he probably doesn't want to know, anyway, so... no. There isn't, really.]
no subject
[Even more, Eiji's not used to just staying in one place at any given time. He's been forced into it the past year, with the constant reminders that anywhere he goes might be dangerous, and he still doesn't know how to deal with that.
He could try to talk, but that hasn't gone so well already.]
Thanks. For trying to make sure I had a day like this.
no subject
Would have been boring sitting around here all day by myself.
[There you go, Eiji. He just wanted a day off for himself, and you're entertainment.]
no subject
[At least it's that comfortable awkwardness right now--they're never going to be good about talking about their feelings and they know it, but it's habit too.
It's enough to get close to any kind of emotional topic, at least.]
I don't know how long it'll take for me to feel normal, but things like this help.
