For those unlucky saps who disappear today, ranging from early in the morning towards the middle of the afternoon, well...they can't be reached by CereVice.

Any attempt to do so will bounce back the message User Currently Occupied.

It's an odd message, and one that's never been used by the CereVice. How strange. It's probably nothing though, right? No contact can be established between groups or from groups to outside people in Cerealia, whether by technology or magic. You're cut off from everyone but those in your groups, now.

Otherwise, all abilities will remain intact.

As for the people who do disappear, well... things get a little hairy really quickly.

Eeeeek! [ it's an even louder screech from before, too. sorry, illidan. sorry, han.

athena covers her mouth for a moment as she kneels down on the floor next to the ledger. haunted ledeger? DEFINITELY. or at least, that's what she thinks, anyway. this is terrible, though! her imagination is vivid as it is, and it's definitely going places, thinking about what could have happened to maya. they're all not very good thoughts, either.

she thinks maya's dead.

fuck! not that she thinks of that word exactly, but her hands are shaking as one makes its way to touch the ledger, but her courage is interrupted by another thought. ]

Miss Maya wouldn't want us to go the way she did... [ her voice is weak, but only grows stronger by the second. ] We have to get out of here alive. All three of us, together. Nothing will be able to stop us if we all put our brains and will-power together.

[ her hand that was about to touch the ledger makes way for her necklace instead, clicking on it once before it flashes once. she's definitely not going to touch the haunted ledger, but at least she's able to take a picture of the page and whatever numbers are on it. ]

[Well. That was a thing that happened.

Totally ignoring the little enthusiasm speech though. Really, his sense of death and mourning may be a bit warped at this point.

To be honest he is sort of hoping the other vanishes too, so he can be done with this random shrieking.]

Can you read it without picking it up?

[ WOWOWOWOW you can at least show some remorse for the recently deceased! or in this case, the recently disappeared.

athena does bend forward to try to read what's on the ledger, though! let's see what this thing has for us. ]

[ From what little they would have been able to see from the ledger, it accounts for spending and profits on a completely different planet -- the planet is known as Merui, and it seems Cerealia's roots are in that planet. The numbers being tracked were almost mind-bogglingly large, and there was very little in the negative, but anything that was in the red was scratched out quickly.

That's about it. ]

[ well, she reads that information out loud, slowly for everybody to hear. ]

Merui... I think that's where the CEO is from. What is this thing doing here, and who even goes here?

[ creepy... whose desk is this!!!! ]

Merui...

[well he'd commit that to memory for later, but for now the best course of action would be to grab books and find a way out. After possibly making whoever wrote that ledger's life a bit more difficult.]

We should destroy the ledger, grab all books of value in this place, and find a way out. If we cannot find an alternate exit, then look for weaknesses in the structure and I will see to creating an exit.

[ well, athena already has managed to grab some books. all that's needed now is to take care of the rest. except-- ]

I don't want to touch it. [ the ledger, she means. ]

But there is a hole in the ceiling... Maybe we can go through there?

[Illidan summons a ball of fire in his hand, normal colored as opposed to green like the last time, and throws it in the general area where the ledger should be. Stupid non magic ledger. Stupid library.

With that task more or less taken care of, he turns to the other two.]

Point to it, I shall do the rest.

You're going to carry us out, aren't you? [ YOU BETTER. because she's holding onto him now. ]

Just upwards, where the ceiling caved in.

If I do not wish to fly into any walls I am going to have to now aren't I?

[He craned his head up to the ceiling, for once having a moment of forethought.]

And you are certain the ceiling will not collapse and crush us all should I breech it, yes?

Well, if you have a better idea, then let's hear it!

[ stupid grumpy pants. ]

Come on, before something else shows up!

[He let out a sigh and lifted his blindfold, the area around his eyes was riddled with old burn scares, and he lacked actual eyes. Instead there were odd green flames burning in the sockets, but it wasn't a sight that would be visible for long. The concentration of fire intensified and beams of fire shot at the ceiling, he would maintain the beam until he hopefully got some sort of visible result.]

[ Visible results he will get. The ceiling is definitely going to go ahead and cave in under that sort of pressure and violence. The entire structure is pretty weak, so the rest of the ceiling is going to come down with it, so unless they move very quickly, they're all going to get buried alive. The only way out is up, so the only way any of them will escape will be by flying through that hole before the ceiling crumbles on top of them.

Also the books will naturally be crushed.

Thanks for that. ]

Okay, exit... GET!

[ without even asking for permission, she jumps and starts climbing onto illidan's back. ]

Tally ho!

[ but don't forget han! ]

[Illidan let out a cuss as the kid crawled on him for a game of piggyback, but did grab Han and tucked him under his arm like a handbag, and shot upwards. After his initial burst of speed though, he slowed considerably.

He still managed to fly upward, but the added weight was slowing him down, and he had to work pretty hard to get out of there.

You two need to eat less.]

[ It's a close call with all of the added weight -- but somehow they'll all make it without being hit by rocks or ceiling. And from there, they'll be in the bottom of the CERES research tower. They won't have long to gawk, however, before they're being ushered right out by a harried robot secretary, until they're outside of the tower with the doors slammed in their faces.

But hey, they're all alive! And whatever pictures they bring or whatever books they managed to grab will remain with them.
