For those unlucky saps who disappear today, ranging from early in the morning towards the middle of the afternoon, well...they can't be reached by CereVice.
Any attempt to do so will bounce back the message User Currently Occupied.
It's an odd message, and one that's never been used by the CereVice. How strange. It's probably nothing though, right? No contact can be established between groups or from groups to outside people in Cerealia, whether by technology or magic. You're cut off from everyone but those in your groups, now.
Otherwise, all abilities will remain intact.
As for the people who do disappear, well... things get a little hairy really quickly.

There is no tagging order, so feel free to tag in whatever way works best for you as a group.
The characters should not ICly be gone longer than 5 hours -- if they survive, of course. There will be mod involvement in each of the threads.
If there are any questions, feel free to ask them here. Please try to avoid asking hypothetical questions (such as "What will happen if my character does [action]?") as that's part of the fun and risk of the interlude! You are welcome to plot with your groupmates in this post. Thank you!

[ Mosley's knocking on your door.
That's really unsettling, but it's happening anyway, and now there's no escape. He'll grab your arm and drag you out with some cheerful words: ]
Prison service! Wait, no. Uh. Community service! ... Wait. Garbage... street cleaning... human thing where humans pick up trash on the side of highways? That thing! That's today! And you were selected to participate so, enjoy! Or not, actually. It's kind of disgusting? You're going to smell terribly after this so it's a good thing I can't smell!
[ And then you're put in a uniform and that means it's time for you to help out with Cerealia's garbage problem.
You'd think.
But no... no you're being shoved into the garbage in the back of the truck with the rest of these fine friends, and eventually, it'll dump you into a room that's also full of garbage, and is dark and cold and a little musty.
Gross. ]
no subject
How disgusting.
["Ugh" is a fairly succinct description of her feelings about everything that's transpired in the last few minutes. She knows there's no point in trying to avoid the filth in this room - it's everywhere. She settles for holding a hand over her nose, her expression as she does so making her opinion of the situation very clear.
Despite that clear displeasure, though, she's looking around the dark room - if only to see if she can make out any sign of an exit. She glances towards the other people gathered here as she does so.]
Shall we look for a way to depart? I will admit I am not altogether eager to stay here for an extended period of time.
no subject
Oh, come on...!
[Despite the griping, he's likewise looking around for an exit, but he's not about to go wandering off when it's not clear how safe this room is. Then he hears Adelina, and turns toward her.]
Yeah, no arguments here. Everyone okay? And does someone have a light?
no subject
I'd be a lot better if we weren't dealin' with this right now! [ Seriously this is so sudden and kind of frustrating. ] But I got one!
[ And soon enough there's a flash of light, before darkness comes over the room again, and moments later there's a large person-sized bird visible in the room, creating a bit of light from the flames around its wrists. It's not the best but it's something. ]
no subject
But he'll force himself to get over it. People are clearly talking and planning and there's a giant bird now, and it's time to just focus on getting out of here. Most of the belongings he usually has on him were in his suit pockets, and now that he's in this stupid uniform he doesn't even have those... But whatever. The weird monster bird is good enough. Moving on. ]
—We will focus on avoiding this horrific stench for now, but afterwards, I expect all of you to explain how you wound up in this mess. [ Literally. His voice sounds a little weird from how he's trying to avoid breathing through his nose. ]
no subject
[The smell...it was worse than anything she could ever remember. Twice, she gagged as she struggled to sit up, pushing her suddenly damp hair away from her eyes. The ground beneath her was wet. Her clothes felt heavy. Saturated. She would never be able to get that smell out now.]
What--?
[There were voice. Sounding just as confused as her. Then, in a moment, there was light. And a...a creature. One she had never seen before. Just like the faces in her line of vision once her eyes adjusted. Slowly, knees threatening to buckle beneath her, she stood up. Not...not a single familiar face was with her, and she wasn't sure if she was all the more frightened or relieved at that thought.]
Did we...are we being punished for something?
[What could she have possibly done? Did this...have to do with what her robot said before? About...about things to come being their fault?]
no subject
It's hard to tell from the shadows, but it isn't even shut. They can move right on through if they choose to do so.
Of course, they could do something else if they wanted to. ]
no subject
[She answers, but her attention is immediately taken by Sapphire's pokemon. Despite the current circumstances, it brings a flicker of a smile to her face for several moments. What an astounding creature, she thinks, before Iris' words distract her. She takes several steps through the garbage towards the girl, concerned.]
Punished? No, I doubt it. I'm sure it's simply CERES being awful, as they typically are.
[Now that she can see more clearly, however, she glances at the door, squinting with a frown.]
Is it... open? That's hardly what I expected.
no subject
The monster's on our side? Nice.
[Then he looks over at the open door. It's suspicious, but it's the only obvious way out. And since he feels bad for all these kids--]
This old man will go have a look-see first. [Despite the seriousness of the situation, he's trying to sound casual. No point in making things worse than they are when a few of them are already visibly upset.] Everyone stay close.
[And unless there's any protest, he goes on ahead through the door.]
no subject
She notices some of the comments and looks her Blaziken gets, though, and remembers Pokemon aren't exactly a well-known thing here, so. ]
'Course it is! Ya can count on Chic! [ So no worries, friends. She can explain her Pokemon to anyone curious after they're safe.
And she's quick to move to be close behind Raven. No protests here! If anything's going to attack, it'll be from that door, and she's ready to help fight if needed. ] Got it!
[ Her Blaziken of course will remain at her side, loyally. ]
no subject
He's pretty suspicious of the open door, though, furrowing his brow and trying to peer through. ] Where is this place...? Is this door where we entered from? [ It seems to be the only exit, after all. ]
no subject
The place seems abandoned, and the lights flicker; there are doors lining the hall, or they can carry on and see what exists beyond the corner.
Either way, they're very much alone down here. ]
no subject
[When she peeked out, lingering towards the end of the group, she actually breathed a small sigh of relief. She had no idea where they were, of course, but there were no immediate signs of danger. No monsters or evil robot duplicates or her sister or anything else that might try to hurt them when their back was turned. That relief, of course, was rather short lived as a new uncertainty presented itself.]
I don't...I've never seen this place before.
Does anybody know where we are?
no subject
[She pauses, glancing over the immediate area. The fact that it might be a place nobody else has seen... Somehow, just trying to find an exit seems a waste.]
I think we should explore... But take care.
[There are children here, after all, and since she doesn't count herself amongst their number, she's committed to ensuring their safety.]
no subject
Exploring would be smart. If we've been brought here, it's for a reason... That guy coulda thought about a nicer way to go about it, though.
[He scratches the back of his head.]
How 'bout we split into pairs to check out the rooms? That way we can all keep an eye on each other. [And now they had the flaming monster chicken, that means even numbers.]
no subject
But she'll nod in response to Raven. ] Works for me. [ But seeing as she knows most people here don't have Pokemon, and she hasn't really met many of the colony's various super-powered residents, she has one little reservation about that, now that she thinks about it. ] But I'm guessin' ya guys don't have any Pokemon with ya. Can any of ya fight?
[ Unsure if should leave people alone if they can't. Two people who can't fight is just as bad as one, in a place like this. And she may not look it, but she does care about the people around her. ]
no subject
I can handle myself to avoid danger. But I will allow someone who specializes in combat to accompany me for greater efficiency. [ So generous........., ] Which of you has the most experience?
no subject
I...can't really fight at all. I'm sorry.
But I promise to keep up as best as I can. I'm used to...I mean, I can still travel for a while if I need to. Or move quickly. I won't tire.
no subject
[She says it automatically and sincerely. It's not as though Iris could have seen this kind of scenario occurring, after all. Once that's out of the way, though:]
I possess knowledge of combat. It is an ample amount to protect anyone who accompanies me should we encounter danger.
[As evidence, she reaches to her belt and gestures to the sword sheathed there. She's got this, probably.]
no subject
[He pats the weird-looking mechanical sword at his belt. Between that and the knife, he's pretty well-armed.
He's also aware he's likely the most experienced here, but he'll ignore Togami's request. If the kid can handle himself, Raven would much rather accompany a poor helpless damsel! That decided, he addresses Adelina.]
Okay, so I'll go with the lady, and you can use your fightin' expertise to look after our greater efficiency guy. [Good luck with that...] That leaves the scamp and her pet chicken. Sound good to everyone?
no subject
Except she's a little offended on behalf of her Pokemon at his comment — ] It ain't a pet! [ It's her partner and a very skilled battler, thank you very much. But after that initial shout, she'll make sure not to start a fight.
Instead she'll put her energy towards something useful and immediately turn toward the first door after the "toilet" sign, pointing. ]
We'll take that room!
[ HUFF. ]
no subject
[ He will be happy to be in a room far away from any flirting. Adelina seems like probably the least annoying person out of this whole group, from a Togami perspective. He gestures further down the hall. ]
The swordswoman and I will take the next room down.
[ Hopefully she can tolerate him deciding things without any outside input though, or else their partnership is going to crash and burn fast. ]
no subject
[She turned to Raven and offered a grateful bow.]
Thank you. I am ever so grateful for your kindness.
Oh! And I'm Sister Iris. In different circumstances, it would have been a pleasure to meet you. All of you.
no subject
My name is Adelina. I'm certain I will see you all shortly once more, and I wish you luck as you explore.
[And then, she turns to head towards the room Togami indicated.]
no subject
[Raven beams as she bows. She's not only cute, but polite, too. He's pretty much hit the jackpot given the circumstances. Everyone being gross and smelly isn't enough to distract him from a lady.]
Right. Everyone be careful! [And once they split off, Raven heads towards one of the remaining rooms.] All right, here goes nothin'. If ya get scared, Iris, ya can cling on to me all you like.
