Who: Kakyoin & OPEN!
When: IC 7/19 - 7/23 (event time)
Where: School, park, marketplace, apartments.
What: Ayyy it's the event bandwagon.
Rating/Warning: Probably some talk of violence, whoops.
A. all that's missing is toast in mouth
[ he feels like he's losing his mind.
he's so sure he's seeing familiar faces -- faces of people that he knows aren't here, faces that he misses dearly -- but the moment he tries to chase them down, they vanish. the first time, he dismisses it as a trick his eyes are playing on him. so the second time, he ignores it. but as it happens a third, a fourth time, it grows harder and harder to pretend nothing's happening.
as he's making his way through the school's hallways, kakyoin's footsteps are steady and clipped. but they stop abruptly when he spots a flicker of movement out of the corner of his eyes -- the trailing length of a long, black coat, or the shape of a built figure in a conspicuous hat -- and this time, he chases after it without thinking.
if someone's playing tricks on him, he's determined to hunt them down, and he sprints full-tilt down the hallway towards where he's so sure he saw that familiar figure, rounding the corner without losing any speed.
so it'll probably be a pretty hard impact if he runs into anyone! ]
B. don't mind the mess
[ so when brute-force sprinting after those hallucinations proves to be fruitless, kakyoin goes for a different tactic.
around the school campus or the park, kakyoin can be found quietly standing in a clearing, staring very intensely at nothing in particular.
maybe it'd be best to ignore the weirdo staring at the trees? or you could talk to him and see what's so interesting about that patch of grass over there?
but people with any sort of supernatural or spiritual ability will be able to see that kakyoin's not just staring at the ground. all around him, strange, green tendrils spread out like a cobweb, covering the ground around him in a fifty, sixty-meter radius. the tendrils shift against the ground, translucent and glowing faintly, and touch lightly at the shoes of anyone who wanders too close to them. linger too long, and they might gently loop around your ankle.
so, yeah. feel free to call him out on that creepy little detail. ]
C. no context theater time
[ he eventually gives up on trying to chase those hallucinations but that still leaves him with the matter of the weird, injured dove that's been following him around. it's a little distressing, being followed by such a battered-looking animal, but he hadn't been able to pick it up or carry it, and helping it out in any way didn't seem possible.
which means he just has to let it totter after him while he tries to go about his daily life.
periodically, he stops and sits down somewhere to let the bird catch up to him. and when he thinks no one's looking, he sometimes makes another attempt to pick it up, even if he knows it probably won't work -- quickly though, so no one can see him trying to pick up a handful of empty air. (he can totally be seen making this embarrassing attempt.)
kakyoin can be found around the school, park, marketplace and apartments, and anyone unfortunate enough to walk near him -- deliberately or not -- will probably end up bumping into the sad, injured spirit-dove hobbling after him. whoops.
C1. please choose this option to get a bizarre memory! it might still be kinda violent and/or horrific, but it'll come with little context and probably be kind of strange. please feel free to request anything specific from his canon, but otherwise these will be chosen randomly!
C2. please choose this option to get a more distressing and/or serious memory! may or may not be violent, may or may not be sad. it's a mystery! please feel free to request anything specific from his canon, but otherwise these will be chosen randomly!
D. wild card
[ please feel free to start with anything else! ]

oh my god DIO STRANGER DANGER....
But as the vision progressed, it was immediately obvious that this wasn't like what he had been seeing before. The ridiculously sculpted man was new, and the atmosphere was stifling in a way that was different from his other memories. The mysterious figure felt strong, stronger than the other shady characters who showed up in his mind, and the choked off fear from the person on the other end felt so much like Yusuke's that it was easy to mistake this memory for one of his own.
And suddenly, the mysterious figure is behind him, sending a jolt in his nerves, and then--
'there's no need to be so afraid, Kakyoin'
--this...
... this was Kakyoin's memory?
Before he could question it any further, the man speaks again, sending shivers up his spine, and it's so tempting to yell and scream at Kakyoin to get away, run from this shady creep-- when that sharp tendril lashes out, much too close to his face, and with a small shout, he's back in reality once more. Yusuke blinks, taking a moment to recover from what he had just seen (what WAS that?), when an abrupt thud grabs his attention and his eyes focus on the owner of the memory, prone on the ground.]
Crap! Kakyoin!!
[Yusuke flounders for a moment, his beasts forgotten, before crouching down on the floor, attempting to help him up.]
Sorry, I was just trying to keep an eye on that stupid blue thing, but-- [and his voice wavers for a moment, hesitating.]
What... what was that?
no subject
he's looking just a little peaky, and kakyoin's expression darkens at yusuke's question. ]
That ...
[ assuming yusuke saw the same thing he did, it's one of the last things he wants to explain. lips pressed together thinly, brows furrowed, he avoids yusuke's gaze as he considers what to say. ]
... you might have seen something I've experienced before.
It must have been unpleasant.
[ a low mutter as he presses his hand to his temples, trying to ignore the heavy feeling hanging in his gut. at least he didn't hit his head as he fell, and as long as he focuses, he can sort of quell the dizziness that's making it so hard to think. unpleasant flashback or not,
and then he manages processes what yusuke said, finally realizing how strange it was. kakyoin's frown deepens, and he looks at yusuke like he's suddenly sprouted an extra head. ]
Did you just call Puu 'that stupid blue thing?'
[ not that he was going to argue with 'stupid' or 'blue,' but 'thing' seemed an uncharacteristically vague way of referring to a manifestation of his own soul. ]

But then the other boy speaks, and Yusuke goes pale, the memory popping into his mind again. Oh right, that.]
That's one hell of an understatement there, pal.
Just what was--
[The look on Kakyoin's face made him stop and reconsider, however. It was obvious that the context of the memory wasn't a good one (as if the intimidating sensually posing buff man in the moonlight with weird needle-vines could be anything BUT), and he wasn't about to pry off that lid if it was painful. It did deepen the mystery of the other boy's world, though-- Kakyoin had mentioned something about Egypt and vampires in the past, but nothing really shining a light of what he had to deal with back home.
Before he could switch the subject, however, it was changed for him, and Yusuke blinked a few times in surprise.]
What did you call it? 'Puu'? What kind of dumb name is that?
[ONE YOU APPARENTLY GAVE HIM, YUSUKE.]
no subject
obviously, yusuke's curious about that flashback. not that he could be blamed for it. kakyoin's sure it's a strange and disturbing thing to witness, and perhaps yusuke does deserve at least a sparse explanation. but that can come later. more urgent is the fact that yusuke apparently doesn't recognize his own 'stand.' ]
... yes, that's his name. Puu. Rather silly, but I'm not the one that gave him that name.
[ brows furrowed, he hesitates for a moment before holding up two fingers. ]
I can answer your questions a bit later. But first, two things I want to ask you. One, whether you remember me explaining what a 'Stand' is to you. And two, whether you can see what's behind me.
[ hierophant immediately flickers into view behind him, domed eyes staring intensely at yusuke. for now, the first thing he has to do is narrow down 'what's wrong' with this situation, and figure out whether yusuke has, somehow, lost all connection with the supernatural, or if it's simply just forgotten about puu. ]
no subject
His eyebrows raise at the first part of that-- seriously, where did he get that name from?-- but the two fingers held in front of his face prevented him from asking about it. There's a frown in response to those queries, although he does jerk a little bit at the sudden appearance of Hierophant. Man, he is never going to get used to that.]
Well, yeah, I remember that much. And there's no way I'd be able to forget that shiny green friend of yours, either.
What's this all about, Kakyoin? Does this got anything to do with what I just saw?
no subject
That makes things much easier, if you still remember.
[ he's never been particularly good around animals, kakyoin gives a slight grunt of discomfort as hierophant gently deposits puu in his arms, but otherwise holds him firmly in place. ]
You explained to me that Puu is something like a Stand to you. I'm afraid I didn't pry for exact details at the moment, but the gist of it is that this 'stupid blue thing' is very important to you.
Do you see now why I was so puzzled by what you were saying?
no subject
Yusuke's brow furrows at the display, the other boy's words and actions beginning to unsettle him. It sounded crazy, especially given he's only begun to notice that blue thing a few days ago, but... at the same time, there was an unshakable sense that he might be missing something.]
But... that can't be. That thing's only showed up a few days ago, along with, well... whatever the hell that freaky banged-up fox is. I know I'd definitely remember if I had something like that flapping around my place.
Are you sure you're not the one mixing things up? Maybe our memories got... I dunno, jumbled or fused together after whatever just happened.
