Who: Raven (
fishyoldman) & you!
When: 8/2
Where Entertainment District
What: Thanks to the city-wide effects this month, Raven isn't doing so well.
Rating/Warning: G for giant walking spoilers.
[It started at work: a feeling of being more tired than usual, of getting worn out when the day was only half over, a vague ache in Raven's chest. They're all things Raven's used to by now, because that's just how his body is. He doesn't complain about being old for nothing, because more often than not, he feels it. ...Not that it stops him getting by, so as with a lot of things with Raven, his complaints are exaggerated half-truths at best.
Today's a little different, though. As well as that unusual tiredness, on his way home through the Entertainment District he's hit by a sudden shortness of breath, and a sharp ache that tells him his heart isn't working like it should. He stops to brace himself against the nearest wall, clutching his chest until he stops feeling so breathless.]
C'mon, stupid body. Let's move it...
[Raven mutters it under his breath, urging himself to move before he makes a scene. He does debate whether he should call Rideaux, but it's not an emergency, right? And pestering the guy involves more energy than he really has right now. So it seems like he's stuck here, at least until he feels up for moving again.]

Yeah, it happens every now and then. [Even if he's not yet aware what could have triggered it this time.] It's... not somethin' that can be helped.

[ That's... more than a little concerning, actually. Raven, at least please sit down. ]

Nah, that's just how it is. It'll pass, and I'll be right as rain sooner or later. [Or... Whenever it starts working up to speed again, anyway.]
no subject
[ ... do healing spells even exist where he's from? ]
no subject
[Which is probably the best way to explain it without saying too much, anyway.]

Sorry ta bother ya like this when there's nothin' ya can do. I know a guy, so I'll speak to him later.
no subject
For the time being, I'll stay with you until it lets up.

[SWEATS NERVOUSLY. Even when he physically feels terrible, he can't seem to stop being a moron.]

[So he says, looking relieved.]
So uh... Why don't ya tell me more about yourself? Doesn't have to be anythin' deep, just somethin' ta while away the minutes. [And distract him from the ache in his chest. He doesn't want to dwell on it more than he has to.]
no subject
[ Does that help? ]
no subject
You'll have ta forgive me, since I can't dazzle ya with a romantic serenade right now.

[...Even if it probably wasn't meant as a put down, but never mind.]

[ Says this rather dainty lady. ]

[She gets scarier and scarier the more he learns about her.]
What kinda things -- people? -- have ya wrestled?
no subject
[ She's a pretty peaceful person, honestly. ]

[...Not that he went to a high school himself to know from experience.]

[ PERFECTLY LEGAL. ]
