[It started at work: a feeling of being more tired than usual, of getting worn out when the day was only half over, a vague ache in Raven's chest. They're all things Raven's used to by now, because that's just how his body is. He doesn't complain about being old for nothing, because more often than not, he feels it. ...Not that it stops him getting by, so as with a lot of things with Raven, his complaints are exaggerated half-truths at best.

Today's a little different, though. As well as that unusual tiredness, on his way home through the Entertainment District he's hit by a sudden shortness of breath, and a sharp ache that tells him his heart isn't working like it should. He stops to brace himself against the nearest wall, clutching his chest until he stops feeling so breathless.]

C'mon, stupid body. Let's move it...

[Raven mutters it under his breath, urging himself to move before he makes a scene. He does debate whether he should call Rideaux, but it's not an emergency, right? And pestering the guy involves more energy than he really has right now. So it seems like he's stuck here, at least until he feels up for moving again.]

[oh patrol, it's so nice when you're boring as all hell. flynn's pleased to be bored today. better less exciting of a day than too exciting and with people potentially getting hurt. exciting in the city, unfortunately, usually involves that so the peace and quiet is completely welcome. ah, so uneven--

rounding a corner effectively kills that boring atmosphere in the worst way possible. seeing raven? always a pleasure. seeing raven clutching his chest while appearing close to passing out? not nearly as pleasant.

needless to say, flynn's immediately concerned and rushes on over without any hesitation.]

Are you all right, Sir Raven?!

[Raven looks up when he hears Flynn's voice and tries to offer him a smile, though it's really more like a grimace. Not exactly someone Raven wanted to see like this, but beggars can't be choosers.]

Hey Flynn... Ya really gotta stop with the "Sir" stuff.

[Nothing to see here, kid. Just resting against this wall. Yup.]

Mister....Raven?

[If not for the man's distinctive style, Felicia would barely have recognized him. Dropping her heavy bags of groceries for the apartment, task of shopping and attempting to cook for both her and her room mate forgotten, Felicia rushed over to the man's side and wrapped a supportive arm around him.]

Mister Raven, can you talk?

[Important questions first, especially since she could see that the man clearly wasn't all right. She was reaching for one of her Staves as she spoke, casting a Mend spell without prompt or second thought.

Whether her job was in the domestic setting or in the field, there was one thing she always knew: she hated seeing people hurt.]

[He's not injured, so the Mend spell does have a limited effect, but it's enough to perk him up a little, coupled with the brief time he's taken to stop and catch his breath. Still holding his chest, Raven straightens a little as the spell takes effect and offers a sheepish grin.]

I dunno... I'm struck speechless by the sight of a beautiful lady.

[...Yeah, he's going to be fine.]

Who? I don't see any around here.

[At least, none that particularly struck her as beautiful. Though the Mend spell didn't seem to do much, the fact that Raven seemed to be acting like his normal self was encouraging. Felicia didn't step away or remove her arms, however-- she wanted to be sure that her 'patient' was okay.]

Seem's like you're a little more than 'struck speechless', too. Do you need someone to walk with you a while?

[She came upon him completely by chance as she was walking down the street. At first, from behind, only barely recognizing the hair and ensemble. When she got closer, however, Iris realized...just how badly he was. With a posture that could have rivaled Sister Bikini's when her back was really acting up, and skin paler than should be considered healthy. Combined with the way he was clutching his chest...]

Ah, are you--? What happened?

[She raced to his side at once, leaning down in hopes of getting a better look. Thinking he was wounded.]

Ah... What a pity. The lady doesn't even know her own beauty.

[To her question, he experimentally pushes away from the wall, using his own weight instead of leaning on Felicia. He winces as he does so, and he still feels unusually tired, but the worst of his heart acting up seems to have passed.]

...Thanks. I think I'll be okay.

[Raven looks up at the voice, straightening up a little so he doesn't feel quite so useless, and takes another deep breath. To her concern, he forces a smile.]

Hey... Nothin' happened, I just got a little worn out.

[There's nothing about his appearance that immediately suggests he's injured, which should hopefully put that particular worry to rest. He adds more apologetically--] Sorry we keep meetin' like this.

[Well, Yuna's not going to leave someone she's met alone after seeing him standing there so...lifeless looking. She doesn't really know Raven, but he had given her advice, and that meant she should do something to help him. Right?

Approaching, she taps her staff on the ground near him and starts drawing on energy, ready to cast a healing spell.]

Raven, is something wrong? You...look awful, but is it an injury, or is it sickness?

[maidhem]

I'm just an out of work maid-- nothing that special, [she said, and scurried over to grab her groceries before Raven could get too far away.]

At least let me walk you back to your house? You didn't look okay, and I'm gonna be worrying all night if I don't know you got back to....where ever you stay safely.

Do I have to keep flatterin' ya until you change your mind?

[He's joking, but he really could, as much as his compliments don't have any effect on her. He'll wait for her while she goes to fetch her groceries.]

I'll make it back, I'm just tired is all. But if ya live in the residential district, we're headed in the same direction anyway.

[Raven frowns and looks over at the young woman. He'd really hoped he'd be able to collect himself and get moving before he drew any attention, and here he is, worrying someone.]

Oh... Yuna. It's neither, just this old body bein' useless. [He says it through gritted teeth. Healing artes won't do much good, though he won't stop her if she wants to try.]

You don't need to keep flattering me-- I'm happy being me.

[Even if she was clumsy and graceless, she was comfortable in her own skin. That alone was more than a lot of people could say.]

And where else would I live, if not in the Residential District? That makes no sense, and I'd want to walk you back anyway.

[She leaned in, getting into his personal space, and looked up at him earnestly.]

It's that thing in you, isn't it? [She whispered-- because she had noticed him clutching at his chest, and she did the math on her own.] Do you think a doctor here can help with that? I hear they can do some amazing things.

[Fortunate(?) enough that someone else was on their way home from work. Normally the young mermaid is pretty shy around strangers (especially humans), but Raven's pained expression triggers an immediate response. She floats to his side with the aid of the giant bubble she was riding, planting a hand on his shoulder before immediately recoiling it. Careful, Keimi, you might hurt him even more!]

M-mister, are you okay? What's wrong?

( saber does work at the pleasure district from time to time and on break, she enjoys going to the entertainment district to amuse herself. she's dressed in her normal attire when working still since she has to go back to work in about an hour or two.

she decides go visit a small shop nearby that seems to be on the rage in thsi district but what catches her attention ( well, more like in her way of where she's going ) is a familiar citizen. )

Umu! Though you may be in my way, I shall excuse you since you are my beloved citizen. ( she already has it down pact of his features so even from behind, she can tell who it is but she moves around him in order to stand in front. hands settled upon her waist as she raises her head up. )

Your face seems pale, do bend down so that I can place my hand on your head.

[ Too late, he's been spotted. By the lady who had apparently scared the crap out of him before, but she's hurrying over now. Someone clutching their chest is always an alarm bell for a doctor. ]

Hold on-- can you sit down?

[She will try, her palms already beginning to glow as she casts both Cure and Esuna with a little murmured chant.]

All the same, perhaps that will help. If it's arthritis or other pain, I can do a more focused healing spell on the joint? [Earnest, eager, helpful. That's her.]

[She shook her head, offering a sheepish smile as she motioned to a nearby bench.]

Please, don't feel you have to apologize. It's your your fault if you're feeling unwell.

There's a bench nearby. Why don't we both sit until you're able to catch your breath?

[Naturally Raven wanted to hear the dulcet sulky tones of Leon Magnus, Angsty Teenager Extraordinaire. This is going to make his day so much better.

But... well, Leon can't seem to leave this as-is right now. Instead, he edges closer slowly... while still trying to seem as though he really doesn't care!! At all!!!]

[Yes, getting yelled at by Angsty Teenager Extraordinaire was definitely top of Raven's to-do list right now. He grimaces -- either in pain or exasperation -- and huffs out a response.]

Ah, Leon. I just... really wanted ta get up close and personal with this wall here... Us old folks need to pass the time somehow.

[So that's why he's here. Leaning against the wall. Just hanging out. (Leon's probably going to bully him no matter what response he gives, so he might as well go straight for the facetious option.)]

[Raven looks up when he feels the hand on his shoulder, however briefly, and as he opens his mouth to respond it just kind of hangs open and stays there, as he takes in her unusual appearance. If he looked pained before, now he looks pained and perplexed.]

I thought I was gonna be okay, but now I'm seein' things...

[A mermaid riding a bubble. A lot of weird things happen in this city, but at least a lot of them are confined to ViViD. He's pretty sure he didn't do that in this instance...]

You're hallucinating too?! We need to get you to a doctor!

[Raven would gripe about people not having any manners when it comes to the elderly when he's told he's in the way, but even without spotting her he can tell who Saber is, so he'll let it slide just this once. It helps that as she comes to stand in front of him he realises that outfit does her all kinds of favours, even if he's not in the best state to appreciate it.]

H-huh? Sure thing, Your Highness...

[He's already hunched over, so it's not difficult to do as ordered and bend down a little further for her.]

[Even without CERES messing things up, Raven's used to dealing with these episodes enough that he can forget the alarm they cause for people who see them. Even a (scary) doctor like Otome, apparently.]

Y-you mean right here? I just need ta rest a spell, it's okay...

Right here, yes. If you need to, you can lean against me. [ she's totally comfy. ] Has this happened before?
