Who: Raven (
fishyoldman) & you!
When: 8/2
Where Entertainment District
What: Thanks to the city-wide effects this month, Raven isn't doing so well.
Rating/Warning: G for giant walking spoilers.
[It started at work: a feeling of being more tired than usual, of getting worn out when the day was only half over, a vague ache in Raven's chest. They're all things Raven's used to by now, because that's just how his body is. He doesn't complain about being old for nothing, because more often than not, he feels it. ...Not that it stops him getting by, so as with a lot of things with Raven, his complaints are exaggerated half-truths at best.
Today's a little different, though. As well as that unusual tiredness, on his way home through the Entertainment District he's hit by a sudden shortness of breath, and a sharp ache that tells him his heart isn't working like it should. He stops to brace himself against the nearest wall, clutching his chest until he stops feeling so breathless.]
C'mon, stupid body. Let's move it...
[Raven mutters it under his breath, urging himself to move before he makes a scene. He does debate whether he should call Rideaux, but it's not an emergency, right? And pestering the guy involves more energy than he really has right now. So it seems like he's stuck here, at least until he feels up for moving again.]

avoidance of the inquiry only causes that frown to deepen. thankfully for flynn and unluckily for raven, putting two and two together is something he does well. any commandant, hell, any knight should be able to engage in a little critical thinking. given the chat they had the other day and the way raven was clutching at his chest...]
Is something wrong with your heart?

[He tries to stand up a little straighter. The ache in his chest is subsiding a little, at least, so it's making it easier to talk.]
It's weird... The past couple of days, it feels like it's been workin' harder than usual. Or not workin' well enough. I haven't done anythin' to push it... but it's still havin' ta use more of my energy ta make up the difference.
[He kind of just wants to go nap somewhere, although the worry would probably just stop him from relaxing. Back when he didn't care, this sort of thing was so much easier to deal with.]

his concern doesn't diminish, however. something wrong with raven's heart is a major issue. it could always be ceres' doing, too. ugh, flynn really hopes they wouldn't be cruel enough to mess with raven's heart. ...even if they totally would.]
Have you spoken with that acquaintance of yours about it? Perhaps they could determine the cause.
no subject
Ah... I don't know, maybe... I was plannin' ta just wait it out.
[Maybe it'd improve overnight, or in another few days? He doesn't want to cause more unnecessary hassle than he needs to.]

If it involves your heart then you ought to get it looked at as soon as possible. Even if it doesn't end up problematic, better to be safe than sorry in this case.
[is flynn going to have to haul raven to rideaux's place? actually carry his sorry butt?? because he so will. flynn obeyed (reluctantly...) when told to rest while ill so he'll attempt to get that same obedience now when raven's the one unwell.]
no subject
Yeah, you're right... I'll speak to him later and see what he has ta say.
[And probably get charged extortionately large fees for even taking precious minutes of his time. Oh well, Flynn doesn't need to know that part.]

Please do. [go and get healthy and don't die!!] Is there anything that you require right now? Somewhere to sit? Some water?
[mother hen flynn fretting into forever. since he can't do much for the heart issue, he wants to assist in whatever other way possible.]
