[It started at work: a feeling of being more tired than usual, of getting worn out when the day was only half over, a vague ache in Raven's chest. They're all things Raven's used to by now, because that's just how his body is. He doesn't complain about being old for nothing, because more often than not, he feels it. ...Not that it stops him getting by, so as with a lot of things with Raven, his complaints are exaggerated half-truths at best.

Today's a little different, though. As well as that unusual tiredness, on his way home through the Entertainment District he's hit by a sudden shortness of breath, and a sharp ache that tells him his heart isn't working like it should. He stops to brace himself against the nearest wall, clutching his chest until he stops feeling so breathless.]

C'mon, stupid body. Let's move it...

[Raven mutters it under his breath, urging himself to move before he makes a scene. He does debate whether he should call Rideaux, but it's not an emergency, right? And pestering the guy involves more energy than he really has right now. So it seems like he's stuck here, at least until he feels up for moving again.]

[Uh oh, now he's worrying the kid. That's no fun. He takes a deep breath, and tries to sound as dismissive as he can about it.]

Oh... Mabel. Just dealin' with the trials and tribulations of old age, ha ha...! [Wheeze. Okay, laughing is pretty hard right now, forced or otherwise, so he quickly stops.]

[meowbel]

[And here, Mabel wasn't so sure about that. With that laugh, she just gave him a very suspicious look]

Well that still doesn't mean you can't sit down somewhere! Old or not, you still gotta know when to relax and totally not force yourself to keep on laughing away!

[Because she's really not letting that go!]

But don't they say laughter's the best medicine?

[Arguing with a teenage girl, on the other hand, is not so medicinal, so he's quick to give up.]

Okay, okay... I'll find somewhere ta rest.

[meowbel]

Yeah but not when you're about to fall over and make yourself a Raven pancake!

[Because she doesn't want to see one of her friends rolling all over the floor, thank you! With that said, she simply gave her hand out to him]

But c'mon, I see a bench over there! And I think I see it has your name written all over it!

Guess it was another thing that was just meant to be, huh...?

[Just like the sweater. He can walk on his own, but to keep her happy, he takes her hand and moves away from the wall to head over to the bench.]

[meowbel]

You bet! And I think you totally deserve a sit anyway so why not?

[She giggled before eventually making her way to said bench. Although, once she does so, that didn't stop her from looking rather worried]

But seriously, you sure you're okay? It really looked like you weren't doing so good back there.

[fishyoldman]

[Raven sits with a groan, still rubbing his aching chest, though he stops at her question.]

Ah, like I said, it's just the ravages of age. When ya get ancient like me, ya get all kinds of aches and complaints.

[meowbel]

Oh c'mon, you're not that old! And if you keep saying that, then you'll really be old!

[As Mabel thought deeply, what was it that Grunkle Stan usually do when his back hurt? She just had to think of something!]

Oh, I know! We can get you a back pillow with a smiley face on it! It'll totally help you out!
