[ It took awhile for Mikazuki to have gathered everyone he wanted to for this. Some of the invites were the tachi going to meet up in person to invite them, others were video or phone chats if he couldn't track them down -- REGARDLESS! He's gathered everyone on the first floor of Sworhaus...kind of jam packed everyone in the living room as much as he was able to. It's a little close for comfort but he just needs everyone to sit still for a little while before he drops the Big News. ]

Ah, where do I start? [ He's a little nervous at first but then in true Mikazuki fashion, he happily drops the news! ]

So, as some of you might have noticed, Kogitsunemaru and I recently acquired a pair of matching rings! As some of you may have also noticed...their placement on our left hands was...intentional. Ahaha, when I invited you all here to share the news of our...engagement, I suppose that's our way of inviting everyone to our future fox wedding in the first place.

[ There should probably be Formal invites but Mikazuki will get to that later...after all that is said and done anyway, he'll allow everyone to mingle at their leisure whether with each other or with him and Kogitsunemaru for questions or congratulations or what have you. ]

CLOSED TO KASHUU AND LILI

[ BUT FIRST! Mikazuki darts over to two very specific people...pardoning himself for the abruptness of it but takes their hands and leads them a little away from the others. He'll thank them for coming and he hopes that they'll both indulge this old man as he asks them for help... ]

Kashuu-kun, Lili...I was wondering if both of you would be able to help...ah...plan it? Aha, Kogi and I aren't the type to really do all of this ourselves and we discussed it already and agreed that others might be more suited to the planning part.

[ He's actually lacking his usual Jiji Charm™, seeming more apprehensive than anything. He almost wants to ask if any of this seems silly or strange for sword spirits to be doing something like this but the question is left in the back of his mind. It may be obvious that he's nervous however with the way he squeezes both Lili and Kashuu's hands... ]

Of course! I wouldn't ask if I didn't want it to happen. It would have more meaning knowing it was your hands that crafted the headpieces.

[ He laughs, a gentle and tickled sound--- the fact that Tsuru agreed so eagerly just filled his heart with pride and happiness! Almost as happy when he and Mikazuki decided to take on this new found commitment and take it seriously. ]

Ahaha, it won't be for a while--- closer to the event itself. We will spend the day in the shop, where I'll make sure to ask Vietnam ahead of time to pick out all the kinds of ones we may be interested in.

[ After all, she is a specialist in this kind of thing. ]

Colors? Well... blue and yellow, obviously. However, I'm unsure about what color would best represent me. What do you think?

[ if he was sparkling before, he's certainly shining now, because with flattery like that, how can he not put his entire effort into making these flower crowns the prettiest for the Big Wedding Day? not that he was planning to give it any less than his best in the first place, but now he's particularly excited.

there's a little "oh" from him upon finding out that they won't be visiting the shop in advance, but he's not too disheartened — flowers are flowers, and they're not too difficult to decide outside of the shop to begin with! so he gives kogi a firm nod, before pausing to think about what color would fit him best —

but this is tsurumaru, and who is he to answer properly the first time! so there's this little, troublesome look in his eyes, as his expression curves into an Obviously Innocent smile. ]

Well, I don't know if it's the best, but...

[ a beat. ]

They say salmon is for desire, Kogi.

[ Kogi's cup is halfway to his mouth as he smiles fondly at his crane-nephew, humming happily as he takes a sip of the tea--- and it's good, a welcome and familiar taste to get rid of some of the nervous feelings that sat in his stomach throughout the day. ]

Salmon? I don't think wearing a fish counts as a color.

[ It's only when the drink is in his mouth, unswallowed, that his cheeks turn pink. Kogi tries not to spit it out and he swallows. It goes the wrong way. He starts to cough, putting the cup down as gently as he can.

And then he stares at Tsurumaru with watering eyes, slight shock on his face. ]

T-T-Tsurumaru!

[ in return, he promptly bursts out laughing — with his hands at his sides, making no attempt to hide his amusement at all. because, after all, he didn't think kogi would end up that surprised; it's not a bad thing, nor can swords really choke to death... maybe... probably, but nonetheless! ]

Sorry, sorry! I didn't think you'd choke on your drink like that.

[ he makes a apologetic waving gesture with his fingers, for kogi's 0.2 seconds of suffering, but otherwise continues on just as brightly — since despite all of that shamelessness, he wants his effort in that Surprise™ to be praised, as if he actually deserves it. ]

Were you surprised that I mentioned something like that? It totally took you by surprise, didn't it?

[ LOOK AT HIM... acting as if he's said nothing wrong. ]

[ Whew. Kogi lets out one, long exhale before nodding, waving off the apologies with a hand--- all is forgiven! However: Tsuru's right, it definitely did catch him by surprise and maybe the little fox shouldn't smile with his flushed cheeks by the other's eagerness for compliments (or something like them) but... ]

It did catch me by surprise, you're right. I suppose next time I shouldn't underestimate you, huh?

[ More like to not forget that Tsurumaru isn't that much younger than he is and that no one outlives innuendo. ]

... but I wouldn't be against having a little bit of that hue woven into our crowns. Maybe it'll temper the yellow?

Have you been underestimating me? That just shows your old age, you know.

[ he scoffs, but jokingly. even if tsuru's always small in kogi's heart, he's still ancient compared to most of the other swords! but, innuendo somewhat aside — ]

I think it'll fit perfectly. It's kind of between orange and yellow, after all, so it wouldn't look out of place with the rest of your yellow flowers.

[ also, after a brief pause for thought: ] I'll weave in some other surprises, too — fashionably, of course. Is that okay?

[ which means he'll probably add some white flowers to their crowns... pure flowers to offset the salmon for an even purer wedding day! ]

With age comes experience. However, even experience has to catch up to age sometimes.

[ If that's even applicable to this situation, Kogi's still very aware of Tsuru's sentimental value! Even if his old heart makes him blind to many things in the end. ]

Good, good. I'm sure Vietnam will have that color. She'll probably be expecting us by then, happy to display all sorts of things for us. As my personal flower arranger, I know you'll do us proud.

[ The surprises are welcome. Aren't they always? With the best of intentions, Tsuru's actions have never been offensive or aggravating or even slightly annoying (except being beaten up by the padded sticks at the festival not too long ago), Kogi's happy. Very happy! ]
