[ It took awhile for Mikazuki to have gathered everyone he wanted to for this. Some of the invites were the tachi going to meet up in person to invite them, others were video or phone chats if he couldn't track them down -- REGARDLESS! He's gathered everyone on the first floor of Sworhaus...kind of jam packed everyone in the living room as much as he was able to. It's a little close for comfort but he just needs everyone to sit still for a little while before he drops the Big News. ]

Ah, where do I start? [ He's a little nervous at first but then in true Mikazuki fashion, he happily drops the news! ]

So, as some of you might have noticed, Kogitsunemaru and I recently acquired a pair of matching rings! As some of you may have also noticed...their placement on our left hands was...intentional. Ahaha, when I invited you all here to share the news of our...engagement, I suppose that's our way of inviting everyone to our future fox wedding in the first place.

[ There should probably be Formal invites but Mikazuki will get to that later...after all that is said and done anyway, he'll allow everyone to mingle at their leisure whether with each other or with him and Kogitsunemaru for questions or congratulations or what have you. ]

CLOSED TO KASHUU AND LILI

[ BUT FIRST! Mikazuki darts over to two very specific people...pardoning himself for the abruptness of it but takes their hands and leads them a little away from the others. He'll thank them for coming and he hopes that they'll both indulge this old man as he asks them for help... ]

Kashuu-kun, Lili...I was wondering if both of you would be able to help...ah...plan it? Aha, Kogi and I aren't the type to really do all of this ourselves and we discussed it already and agreed that others might be more suited to the planning part.

[ He's actually lacking his usual Jiji Charm™, seeming more apprehensive than anything. He almost wants to ask if any of this seems silly or strange for sword spirits to be doing something like this but the question is left in the back of his mind. It may be obvious that he's nervous however with the way he squeezes both Lili and Kashuu's hands... ]

( What Heisuke's actually come to the kitchen in search of is snacks, (and a few moments away from the bustle and crowd all smushed into the living room to congratulate isn't bad either,) but he doesn't much mind what he actually finds. )

Oh, you must be the lucky guy, huh! ( Wait, he's a sword too, right? Should probably be a bit more polite. ) Er, Kogitsunemaru-san.

( Better, better. )

[ Lucky for Heisuke that Kogitsunemaru is feeling a little peckish after the little announcement and is rummaging around for something to chew on. Thankfully, there's some cake in the refrigerator!

It's not his, but whatever. Mutsu won't mind. ]

Thank you, Heisuke-san! I'm glad you could be here.

[ His hairears flutter with cheerfulness, even if the kind-looking swordsman was only here coincidentally. ]

Would you like some cake?

( Heisuke brightens at such a friendly response — while he'd been a bit uncertain about whether it was normal for him to show up at the engagement announcement where he didn't even know the other party. With that, he offers back a bright grin. )

Yeah, it's nice to hear some good news around here for once!

( Things kind of sucked on his end. More importantly: ) What kind?

( He's leaning forward though to see if he can get a peek when Kogi looks for it, he's definitely interested )

Mutsu-kun calls it Castella cake. He really likes it, but I think he likes sharing it more. I'm sure he wouldn't mind you having a slice, being a friend and all.

[ Because after all, Mutsu and the Shinsengumi get along just like the stereotypical cat and dog! Clearly, very warm and friendly and never hostile or antagonistic. He'll have to make sure to tell the uchi all about this. ]

Ah, well... then I'm glad that our announcement has been helpful in that regard. Recently, there have been some problems around here as well, but hopefully they will come home soon.

[ Doudanuki had been missing for a while. It worried him that Fishy didn't have a roommate.

Before thinking about that situation any longer, he immediately slices the cake with a nearby knife and places a healthy slice onto a paper plate. ]

( Getting a look at it now, Heisuke can't help but grin. It looks really good? Granted, it's somebody else's but, he trusts Kogi here. He's sure this will be fine! )

Yeah? Tell him thanks for me! ( He doesn't waste any time once he's received his slice to give it a try either, and his eyes brighten for a moment. Though he at least makes sure to swallow his food before speaking up. ) Hey, where do you get this?

( It's good? Maybe he can pick up a slice for Nero or Tsurumaru too. Or a whole cake. Two? He wonders how big an appetite a sword can have, and whether or not it can rival that of a servant, but quickly shakes his head to dismiss the thought. )

Anyway, I'm sure it'll turn out well. I'm sure they wouldn't want to miss something as important as a wedding.

[ Oh man, Mutsu's gonna be so psyched... ]

I believe there's a shop not too far away from either of our restaurants. You see, Mutsu works with ramen and I work with udon. In between us is a plethora of delicious foodplaces, but he knows the better ones. Perhaps you should ask him sometime?

[ Another big slice and that's about half of the cake gone. Welp. ]

You're right. Perhaps, when all is said and done, Mikazuki and I will be able to tell those who were once here about the entire ceremony.

[ He looks up, into the living room--- beyond those who still lingered. Kogi can swear he can see them all: Ishikirimaru sitting at the television/shrine, Iwatooshi carrying Imanotsurugi, Mitsutada and Ookurikara visiting from downstairs...

... but they all vanish as he 'returns'.

His smile is frozen and fades. He's so old. ]

Ah! But where are my manners? I hope you and your comrades will come. You're all invited.

Delicious foodplaces, hmm... It sounds like I should visit both of you at work! Hey, do you guys get discounts and stuff at those places? It sounds pretty good though, this places is filled with interesting shops, it's hard to try them all out.

( Also, a bit bruising to his poor wallet, but at least with that Heisuke takes a while to work on his slice of the cake, mouth closed and everything. He watches as Kogitsunemaru seems to lose himself in thought for the moment, but swallows fast and returns a bright grin, if not a bit more contained. )

It's fine, it'll be really lively, huh. Even just today there were a lot of people around. Thanks for inviting us too.

Please do! I know that I get a discount for any friends and family as long as I behave. I've kept my hands out of other people's dishes recently, so I am sure my manager would approve.

[ Wallets may be unnecessary! Kogi normally operates on a five-finger discount, so to speak, so maybe Heisuke would be the recipient of some very delicious food! They say it tastes better when it's free, right? ]

Yes. Lively is what we want, after all, we should experience these things and treasure them as much as we can.

[ And then his smile turns brighter. ]

Especially if you make sure Hijikata comes.
