Once upon a dream
Who:
onerous & u
When: 9/24
Where: dream world
What: A bit of a catch-all for anyone who wants dream shenanigans
Rating/Warning: None...probably.
[A]
[The first option is the dream taking place in Yuri's Perfect Version of her world. Namely, Kurosawa Antiques. She sits at a table, a cup of coffee in hand; outside, the sun is beginning to set, casting an orangey-red glow through the shop. It's warm and comforting and Yuri actually looks rather content with everything.
There's even a second cup set out for someone else to enjoy.
Behind the doorway that leads to the back of the shop is the rest of the house, where Yuri actually lives; A walkthrough can be skimmed over here]
[B]
[Or maybe she's featuring in your character's dream? This is some inception level of dreaming here.]
((OOC: Whether they remember their time in Cereal is up to you, though if nothing's established I'm going to assume they will remember. And thanks to Yuri's natural abilities and everything going haywire in the city, let's say both parties will be aware of/remember the dream when they wake up. /finger guns))

assuming memories are staying intact.
Things have been so weird with the weather lately, haven't they? Or does it usually rain so much here? I haven't been to the prefecture much before.
works for me!
I think it's just this area--something with the mountain and water... [She makes an 'etc' sort of hand motion. That's not a good explanation but Yuri doesn't really know-- it just tends to rain here a lot. Thanks religion revolving around water?] If it gets too bad, you can just stay over, we have plenty of guest rooms. Hisoka won't mind.
[Like a sleepover! She pushes her hair behind her ear and gestures for Rei to sit at the table if she'd like] I get a little nervous still when people wander around here when it starts getting later, so I'm glad you got here safe. [Not that there's much to worry about anymore, but old habits.]

elsewise it wouldn't be idealized. The mountains were beautiful too, naturally, but the connection to the girl across from here was the real winner.]I'll be alright. It's just dark, but I'd rather not go back out in this weather, no.
[Reaching for a coffee cup, she takes it and lets the warmth soothe away the chill in her fingers.]
It's so different from Tokyo, in a good way. Being able to see the stars...that's a blessing in and of itself. You've got a lovely hometown.
no subject
[Hopefully. She reaches for her own cup but doesn't take a sip yet, just watching Rei with a quiet little smile.] Next time, I'll go visit you. The noise and everything might be a nice change of pace.
[Yuri's quiet a moment as she looks around the store] I think I got used to the sounds of the city, it was difficult to readjust here. Sometimes it's almost too quiet...
no subject
It's a different kind of noise, here. [Finally taking a sip, she ponders how best to explain that one...]
There's a lot of it, it's just different. Creaking of wood, owls, the wind in the trees...floorboards. It's not cars and people, but it's still noisier than you think.
no subject
[But she listens quietly and smiles a little around her cup.] Well, when you put it like that. [Rei's got a point. Yuri goes quiet then, tilting her head. It's quiet in the shop, but there's the ticking of an old grandfather clock, muffled sounds of the surrounding shops closing for the day and people trickling home, the sounds of the rain on the window. She closes her eyes and takes a sip of her coffee.]
How do you manage to make everything sound so... [Yuri trails off a moment, trying to find the word] Poetic?
no subject
Quietly, she listens with her friend, just taken by all the sounds. The rain splattering, the clocks, the occasional scuttle of a mouse's feet. It's all so peaceful, and it just makes Rei smile.]
Poetic? I'm not much of a poet, Yuri. I just...say what comes to mind. And I'm an old soul, so maybe that's why.
no subject
[While she'd like to just stay and run Hisoka's shop with her, becoming an actual priestess might not be a bad thing, either to fall back on or pursue with the shop to fall back on.]
Not so old. I wouldn't put you a day over 400. [Yuri manages to keep an entirely straight face.]

You're off by a few millenia, if we're counting my memories as lifespan.
And you're right. It's never not too late. You'd be more than welcome to learn. [It's not as hard as people think it is.] You already believe in the spirits, I know that. The supernatural. So, really it's just learning the protocols and procedures. I'd love to.

[Yuri's quiet a moment, staring into her coffee] ...It's strange. I never used to think about the future before; it'd just be one day at a time. Actually making plans and thinking of an actual career and things like that...
I don't dislike it. I think becoming an actual shrine maiden is something I'd really like to do. [Yuri glances to Rei, smiling slightly.] It's probably your influence.
no subject
It may be. I'm told I have a way of inspiring people. If my friends are to be believed, anyway.
[Taking a sip of her coffee, she sighs contentedly.]
I'm glad you'd like that, though. It's a dying art. To many people think of it as just something to do when you're in high school and college, to pay the bills. But you...don't do anything halfheartedly. I think that's what I like most about you.
no subject
She looks a bit embarrassed by the praise.] Maybe I'm doing it because I like the uniform. [Thaaat's a lie. The biggest lie Yuri's probably ever told and she shakes her head in amusement.] If I start something, I'm going to stick with it.
And you're always encouraging me. When someone believes in you that much, you have to rise to their standards. [She sets her cup down and looks steadily at Rei from across the table.] ...Thank you for that. I think...I've managed to become a much better person because of you and the others.
no subject
Rei's smile is small, but genuine, her cheeks a liiiittle bit pink.]
I try, at any rate. I'm glad to hear that though. I admit I like seeing how strong you've become. Though, that's not me. That's you, and your dedication.
I'm just glad that I get to see you continuing to grow.
