Who: the idiots who think this will actually amount to anything

What: The rescue mission Yata, Sheba and co. discussed at the citywide meeting!

[ Once everyone arrives at the agreed meeting area, the CERES Metro-rail Station at the Residential District, Yata briefs the group on what to do. As discussed in the citywide meeting yesterday, the group will split into six teams that were decided by drawing lots. Everyone should know who they're teamed up with by now. Yata's instructions are simple enough: don't work alone (buddy system!), and if anyone finds anything, report to him. Should the missing arrivals be found, don't wait on anyone's orders. Yata admits that he's not smart enough to call the shots, but if he found who they were looking for, he believes that taking action should be the team's first priority. Anyone is free to protest, but he won't go back on his word.

Then he makes a special shout out to Hiccup and Toothless because look look guys it's a dragon how cool is that okay back to business.

By 9:15 AM, all teams should be on the move! ]

A: DEPARTURE
[ special shout out, the honor!! hiccup's really trying to just blend in here which is hard enough when you're sitting on the back of a big dragon. a nice pet to toothless' side here, as he's perched on the saddle, and he's trying to make the smile on his face not seem awkward at all (it probably is, a little bit). of course, he is still amused that yata's so excited about toothless... ]

You're a real hit, bud. [ ha ha. that was to the dragon, and now, to the rest of them: ] The cool dragon and I are gonna start off with a quick scout, you know, up... [ gaze upwards, towards the sky. ] If we see anything, we'll let you know, but if you want us to circle around your district while you start your search, just... Phone-thing, it's there for that. We'll catch up with our group later.

B: PLEASURE DISTRICT, WHY
[ and catch up he does! after he's done terrorizing the skies with toothless as he usually as does during too-morning-to-function (which is good, because then it just seems like business as usual), he's managed to find his way to his assigned lot, dragon in tow. things he has discovered: their group is a very awkward combination of weird people and Girl With Paddle he's trying to avoid getting hit by, the pleasure district is Weird and to be honest he's kind of feeling very out of place with all this fancy new stuff that people in the Future use (astrid help), so he's taken to basically pretending things he sees in the shops doesn't exist. things he hasn't discovered: new people.

they're about to enter another one of the stores to check for ~people~ (this is starting to seem like a really bad shopping trip), but toothless is kind of tired of being told to wait outside. cue the dragon trying to fit into the door. key word, trying. cue getting stuck, and hiccup has to turn back with the most "oh my god" expression. ]

Toothless. I told you, you can't-- [ go in or out, apparently. so he's beginning to try and push him out of his doorway prison. no luck. now a glance back to the group, who are probably further into the store now. ] Uh, a little help here?

[ horrible. ]

C: AND WHY AGAIN
[ once inside the stores, hiccup will be looking around while they do their "searching". "searching" and "interrogating" and "new people finding". he's been fondled by androids, seen some strange things he's never experienced before, and is basically confirming exactly why he hasn't gotten more intimately acquainted with this place. now they're in a big sex shop and he's found a million reasons why he's not coming here ever again. ]

Okay. Things I didn't need to see, considering what this place is for.

[ costumes???? why are there bunny costumes here, or at least he thinks because there's ears-- ]

D: I DON'T KNOW, WILD CARD
[ come bother him whenever. text him, call him, bother him about his dragon when they're just walking about the district. maybe you're tired and just need a ride, go wild. ]

[Ruby followed along behind Ryuko, not nearly as at home in the streets but she didn't exactly feel quite so awkward either. Her hood was pulled up over her head, allowing her to scan the area without really alerting anyone that she was watching them.]

...You sure it's a good idea to be just marching through like this?

[Well, Yang, Anise is totally with you. This might be part of the reason she even agreed to go for this mission.]

[She puts on her cutest smile and beams up at Yang, trying to look as innocent as possible. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT, ANISE]

[ Yata makes a good point, the crowds and perhaps even the atmosphere are certainly different depending on the time of day. ]

Gee, you're a real go-getter, aren't you? But why're you following me down this alleyway? Your brand of "questioning" ain't gonna work on me.

[Yuzu's getting her duel disk ready to go when he asks. She's a little embarrassed to admit, but she tries not to let it show on her face. Her skills are only useful in virtual reality, anyway, so this is the most logical group to be in despite her lack of experience.]

Uh! Well, I've only played ViViD once. I've got good experience with virtual reality in general, though...

[ Sure, they're all here to meet up and get on with exploring. Killua's not entirely convinced they're going to find anything — seriously, this would have to be a pretty crappy conspiracy plot if it was that easy — but he's here anyway. It's not like Yata can be counted on to keep a low profile by himself, after all.

He seems a lot more interested in the candy stall near their meeting place than in actually getting on with the search, though. ]

—and five boxes of the chocolate mints. [ Which are added to the not-very-small mountain of sweets he's buying. Seriously, the pile's almost as tall as he is. ]

[ The entertainment district is full of people who fall into the category of "not very nice." Somehow, Killua's managed to find a small army of them, and they're all clustered around him, looming and sporting an assortment of not-quite hidden weaponry. At first, easily mistaken glance, the tableau is all sorts of threatening.

Killua, though, seems entirely relaxed, hands in his pocket as he slouches, looking bored by the whole thing as the gang of thugs... wait, are they trying to recruit him?? He sighs, put-upon. ]

Sorry, not interested.

( c. a most cunning plan )
[ So part of this (obviously going to be a) failed endeavor is dutifully checking all the seedy gathering spots in the district, right? And Killua's agreed to come along on this farce, mostly as an excuse to poke his nose where it doesn't belong since he's bored, and that means he has to actually go on and peek in on things.

Too bad the security at Niteo isn't too keen on letting a thirteen year old in to take a quick look. Luckily, Killua's good at thinking quick on his feet, and he smiles up at the bouncer with his best innocent, totally trustworthy youth expression. ]

Please? It'll just be for a second, I'm looking for my big sister, we're supposed to meet here.

[Don't mind him looking, puzzled and curious, at the duel disk in question. What on earth is that... A weapon?? But he's not sure it looks like a weapon.]

[Shirou's face is flushing with red the second she says that. He's looking SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE right now. It's like she has a point but if he said what was bothering him now he'd be forever shamed. ]

[ Inaba's trying her best to be taunting, considering that she ended up in a district that was a little (read as: very) different than what she's used to, considering that she doesn't go through this district. Like, at all. ]

Ryuko, this is a rescue mission. If they could get out, we wouldn't be needed... If the newcomers in trouble, broadcasting we're here to find them is only going to make the people responsible be more careful around us.

[She chews on her lip for a moment. Weiss is usually the strategist of the group, but Ruby has been steadily improving her planning skills since enrolling at Beacon.]

Maybe we should get up to the rooftops and observe. We might be able to see something we could either use to get info, or that might lead us to the newcomers.

Well, who said they're even kidnapped? Maybe they're just lost. [ Not likely, but.

She looks up at the rooftops from their alleyway, they're pretty high to just jump on, but they would provide a pretty good view. ]

Rooftops, huh? I guess we could get up there, though I'd have to do my "thing".

[A quick conclusion but hey he fought as well. It gives you an edge in ViViD even if your level happens to be low. He grins a bit, one of his hands planted on a hip.] Monsters?

_{[ He remembers this girl from awhile go back when they were having an argument with the vampire panda. Her name has slipped his mind, but he's been placed on her team. Totally okay with being reunited.

As mentioned, he's in a different sort of attire, finding his usual attire a little unsuited for a rescue mission.. like this was any better.
Typically, he would have taken the leadership reigns, but for one reason or another, he's given Rin enough respect to allow her to lead them.

[ Having gone looking through shops with a sharp eye, Saber can't help but pick something up, interested in it's use. It's shaped like a sword, though the blade is a circular shaft with a bulbous head on the end, and when she holds it...it buzzes loudly.

Please explain to King Arthur that she's holding a sex toy? Or at least tell her to put it down, given in her hands it's probably incredibly powerful. ]

[ Yeah, she knows what a prostitute is, compared to a sword-shaped vibrator apparently. It is the oldest profession after all! [ it was honestly a bonus that Lloyd got ViViD, but he's not about to let the charge of adrenaline cloud his focus (not yet anyway). he listens carefully, hands idly resting on his swords despite how much he's itching to pull them out and start looking. he couldn't have said it any better himself!

at the end of her briefing, he chimes in, nodding in agreement. ]

Sounds good! How about we split people depending on what they can do? So that things stay even and we don't get caught up into trouble.

_{[ Let's just say he's encountered Toothless in person maybe once and it consisted of a lot of baby-talk and cooing and sitting probably too close to him. Don't worry. Fish was involved so hopefully it went okay.
Zura hears his bro calling for help, and of course he's making his way over to look at the scene. For some reason there are cat ears on his head that still have the tag on them— obviously he's been distracted too.

He's about two yards away from the spectacle and he reaches into one of his coat pockets and pulls out his CEREvice to take a picture of Toothless before lowering it. ]}
