Who: the idiots who think this will actually amount to anything
When: IC 11/23 onward
Where: Various!
What: The rescue mission Yata, Sheba and co. discussed at the citywide meeting!
Rating/Warning: at least PG because some people swear like sailors
[ Once everyone arrives at the agreed meeting area, the CERES Metro-rail Station at the Residential District, Yata briefs the group on what to do. As discussed in the citywide meeting yesterday, the group will split into six teams that were decided by drawing lots. Everyone should know who they're teamed up with by now. Yata's instructions are simple enough: don't work alone (buddy system!), and if anyone finds anything, report to him. Should the missing arrivals be found, don't wait on anyone's orders. Yata admits that he's not smart enough to call the shots, but if he found who they were looking for, he believes that taking action should be the team's first priority. Anyone is free to protest, but he won't go back on his word.
Then he makes a special shout out to Hiccup and Toothless because look look guys it's a dragon how cool is that okay back to business.
By 9:15 AM, all teams should be on the move! ]

...
[How does he even...respond to that.......
Maybe he responds to it by ignoring it.
Will that make Oz go away.
He opens a finally unlocked door, pushing it open and pretending like he didn't hear anything about angry faces.]
no subject
Oz just flounces behind him merrily, though he is definitely projecting the annoying air of someone who's like "hahaha I SEE HOW IT IS" without actually saying anything. It's a talent of his.
But he'll mercifully leave the subject behind once Sousei opens one of the last unlocked doors remaining, scooting around him to poke his head through the gap. Luckily he doesn't immediately get decapitated, but he can't see much inside since the room doesn't seem to have windows?!]
...Huh. I'm going to look for a light switch.
no subject
For now, though, he just watches Oz be a dumbass and poke his head in without a care!!! Good thing he didn't get decapitated!! Though he follows a moment later, opening the door wider in an attempt to let more of the light in from the hallway.
Why does this room not have windows....
He just walks in after Oz, significantly more wary. One of the two of them has to be ready for killer clowns or something...]
no subject
But it's a good thing at least one of them is wary, since Oz sure doesn't seem to be?! He's on his guard, of course, but it doesn't really outwardly show. After feeling around on the walls for a few seconds, Sousei will hear the melodious sound of some nerd running into a filing cabinet, though...]
Ouch—! [GOOD WORK TEAM.] ...No lightswitches on this side.
no subject
Sousei carefully feels along the walls until he finds the light switch on his side of the room (tough luck, Oz) and then flicks it on.
Sure are a lot of filing cabinets in here.]
... This could take some time.
no subject
But Oz blinks rapidly once the lights are switched on, one hand still pressed to his forehead. Why does this keep happening...]
Oh— [And then, after glancing around:] ...Oh. [#eloquence]
...Well! I'll get started on the ones on this side!
no subject
But Sousei looks at the files, and then...he sighs faintly, and nods. He knows that this is one of their best bets for information, so...as much as he's not excited about sorting through paperwork, it's time to...sort through paperwork!!
What an exciting thread, loser a and loser b looking through files.]
no subject
Naturally, Oz doesn't find anything of use in any of the filing cabinets that he's able to look through. One or two are locked, but after the fiasco with the last locked cabinet, he sure isn't inclined to give this another go... So instead, once he's done, he turns on his heel to face Sousei's direction.]
Did you find anything good over there? It all just looks like stuff for the jobs here on this side. [BORING, NON-INFORMATIVE.] I'm going to go look for a window now!
[Did you think he forgot of course he didn't forget]
no subject
why
though.
Literally, why, Oz. Sousei pauses in his methodical search to look at the boy, and then slowly arches an eyebrow.]
Is there a reason you are so fixated on this?
no subject
That's probably the only locked room on this floor that has a chance of a window leading to it.
[Maybe it's because he can never leave a potential dramatic window entrance left untouched.]
no subject
Are you simply focused on breaking into a locked room, regardless of how little there is a chance of finding anything useful in it?
[starting to get ur number, punk]
no subject
[HE DOESN'T EVEN EXPECT TO FIND ANYTHING IMPORTANT IN THERE.]
no subject
If there is nothing of use here, there is no reason to continue wasting our time trying to break into a single locked office.
no subject
Do you want to move on to the next building, then? [There are the choices... Either let Oz wander off to find a window like a moron or be committed to being stuck with him for another search.]
no subject
We have not been paired up for this search. There is no need to attach yourself to me and what I intend to do.
[hey now.
hey now.]
no subject
[STARING UP AT SOUSEI. It's almost like he can't comprehend this!! Wow! Someone trying to escape his clutches, when does that ever happen??]
no subject
[Oh, that's...that was blunt.]
I do not.
[in case there was any doubt about Sousei's buzzkill status...]
no subject
There are so many cranky grandpas around this place that I'm really surprised the retirement home wasn't offered as an option before the apartment complexes.
[But no, only Break is there......]
But if you want to go look around on your own, I won't hold you up anymore! [He will go LOOK FOR THAT WINDOW, in the meantime - or that's sure what it seems like he's about to do.]
no subject
He's heard worse from Tenka, but wow, what an irreverent brat. For a long moment, he just gives Oz a very long, very unimpressed look.
And then he turns on his heel with a sassy flip of his hair (it just happens, really) and then he strides off. Bye, Oz. Don't fall through any windows.]
