![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

But what if something terrifying happens, and we need to run somewhere safe?
You wouldn't want me to get lost in these crowds, would you?
Or, what if we wanted to go somewhere that's more populated? Imagine getting separated somewhere like that!
You'd definitely need to hold my hand then!
[It sure is great having your friends back, eh, Hinata?]
no subject
Yes... So great.]
T-that's... Well, we don't know if anything like that will happen yet, so we don't need to worry about that right now. And it's not so busy we'll lose track of each other here.
[Stop wanting to hold his hand so much!! He's actually tucking them in his pockets right now.]
no subject
I'll just have to try something else...!
But for now, how about we go check out some of the food stalls? I'm not sure I can trust some of them, but...
Maybe the candy will be alright.
[You can take your hands back out, it's safe!! Gosh!!]
no subject
The food stalls? Okay. [Not a surprising decision, considering it's Hanamura-- He turns to start walking.]
Which should we check out first?
no subject
[He's gonna follow along behind, of course - looking around a little as he does so.]
I'm not sure we can trust any of the hot dog stands. The smells coming from them are none too friendly, after all...
Maybe funnel cakes? Those are difficult to mess up, after all - even you could make a good funnel cake!
no subject
[He does most of it b/c he's been living with Komaeda for a year and a half and Komaeda has never quite mastered cooking, though to his credit he didn't start until they got here.
Still, some of the things he does to food... But shaking that aside, Hinata glances around until he spots a stand for funnel cakes.]
no subject
[Does that even make sense? Probably not. But Teruteru knows what he's about, man.
Funnel cakes, though. Those are the important thing right now!]
At the very least, I know these should at least be edible, if not passable.
You'll take the first bite for me, right?
no subject
[Offended... vaguely... but not enough to get huffy about it because Teruteru would know.]
I'm testing if they're edible, am I? [Ah, guinea pig treatment. Familiar. If they're (for some reason) full of poison, Teruteru, he will come back to haunt you.]
no subject
[Which means he's the one being ushered up to the stall.
Plus, it's a way to get around spending money on someone else's cooking.]
Order whatever kind you like!
no subject
Okay, then--
[He'll just order their regular one, he's not too big on super fancy toppings.]
no subject
Teruteru's going to happily stand tiptoe next to him though, quietly watching his order being made with a discerning eye.]
... A plain one, hmm? A deceptively simple choice!
Hopefully it's flavor will be good enough to make up for its lack of toppings...
[Or he'll be very disappointed. :( Funnel cake is so hard to mess up, seriously.]
no subject
Hinata glances sidelong at Teruteru as he waits. Well. At least no-one will probably be able to slip in poison if they've got a coo--chef watching them so closely. Idle concerns about poison, no big.]
If it had too many toppings, I wouldn't be tasting the funnel cake, would I? [He was thinking of the best way here... also he doesn't want it to be too fancy. SIMPLE THINGS ARE GREAT.]
no subject
... Is that really a powdered egg substitute? Gross. He's even scrunching his nose a little at that.]
That's true, that's true - too many toppings could hide the gentle flavor of a well prepared funnel cake!
But then again, a plain funnel cake could be a little overwhelming on it's own, don't you think? Maybe it'd be best to get a cup of lemonade or something, too...
[Everything is being considered, here - from atmosphere to accompanying flavors!!]
no subject
--No. It's probably fine.]
Should I? [He'll take Teruteru's advice on it even if nooo all his money except no lemonade's not that expensive.]
no subject
[So that's a yes.
... The oil they're using is really thick. Is it even fresh...?? More face scrunching.
Sorry, Hinata, you get to eat this by yourself.]
no subject
Hanamura... you keep making faces. Is it going to be safe for me to eat this...?
no subject
Safe, sure. It's definitely safe to eat.
... But you're taking the first bite, okay?
[That's whispered back, of course - but he's not saying anything more than that.]
no subject
You're really not making me want to do this, oi...
[It probably won't be much longer and he can face his doom. Or, at least, slightly-below-Teruteru's-high-standards-food.]
no subject
You'll be alright, don't worry! Pretty unhappy, maybe, but alright.
It's a sacrifice someone has to make, you know - I'm glad you're taking such a bullet for me!
You're such a good friend!
no subject
Yeah, thanks, Hanamura... [Does he mean that... But he's going to take a bite of it anyhow.
...] ...it tastes good enough? [He's not particularly unhappy??]
no subject
[You know that's not okay with Teruteru!! And his face reflects that thought entirely.]
If it's just "good enough", then it's really not worth eating...
I guess I'm not surprised, with how many substitutes they used. Not even real eggs... I'm not even sure the oil's real.
no subject
I think most people have this kind of expectation for carnival food. They're not thinking that they're going to get anything too amazing.
...but I think they probably enjoy it anyway 'cause of the atmosphere. [Because it's fun, going to a carnival and eating food, it's kind of fresh...]
no subject
But... they could have at least changed the oil first. I'm glad you were the one who bought it, because it definitely isn't something I'd spend my money on.
[No offense meant, as usual. Just speaking his mind!]
... Maybe we should try something else, too? I did see a stall offering churros not too far away...
no subject
No sense wasting food!
Especially since Teruteru's talking about trying more...] Is it just going to be me trying them again...?
no subject
[... That sounds like they'll be doing this with quite a few different stalls, doesn't it -]
There was an ice cream stand, too - but it might be a bit too chilly for that, maybe?
Of course, we could always do something physical and exciting to warm up afterward, hmhmhm!
Or we could go try to find the best candy apples in the park!
We'd have to hold them for a bit to soften the candy shell, of course, but it'd be worth it in the end!
